Oh Joan its so lovely to have you back with us, and Sue has done a grand job of letting us know how you were doing.
Joan I say it again you really are made of good stuff, and a inspiration to all of us.
Now you have a good sleep tonight in your own bed, and I wish you well with your recovery.
    Love to you and Sue

I cannot tell you how pleased I am to hear that you are home. You are a very brave lady, Joan, very brave indeed. The next few weeks won't be too easy for you but it's good to know that Sue is there with you, and I am sure you will just feel so much better for being home again. I found you some flowers! I wish you well and please take care. DD

Hey, Joan, that's brilliant. Well done! I hereby nominate you for the Hopping Champ of the forum.

Injecting too? I don't know about imagining my stomach as an orange. I think it'd have to be pumpkin in my case.

Enjoy being home & thanks to Sue for keeping us updated.

Fabtastic news that you are home Joan. Sue was such a sweetie and kept us informed, whilst you were away. You must both be so happy to be together again. You take care now and I am sure Sue will be keeping an eye on you, that you are doing as you have been told.:smile:

    Hi Joan,

So good to hear that you are now at home, and hopping around. And that you are having to inject yourself, ouch, you are brave. I certainly couldn't do it. Sending you lots of hugs.

    Hi Joan
Great that you are home.....I bet you're glad to be back in your own place. When I had my ankle operated on they wouldnt let me out until I could prove that i could do a flight of stairs.....with an underarm crutch, bannister and hopping....like you I couldnt put my foot down for 6 weeks. I convinced them I could....then as soon as i got home spent the next couple of months going up and down stairs on my bum :lol::lol:
    Take care

    Hi Joan
Great that you are back home so pleased. We appear to living parallel lives at the moment!
I also find it exhausting hopping on one leg, hopefully may be able to slightly weight bear next week. Some friends have lent me a zimmer frame although I still have to hop,I can at least rest and feel more safe when manoeuvring around objects at home.Have fitted a plastic bag on the front,so useful for carrying things from room to room.
Also have to inject myself daily in the tummy against clotting, the nurse told me to 'pinch an inch',must admit the prospect of this was daunting but the more you do the easier it gets.
Going up and down stairs was easiest on my bottom, would never feel safe using crutches.

I hope you've managed to get some sleep now you are in the comfort of your own bed.

I'm still self injecting myself at the mo as only had THR a couple of weeks ago, belly is looking like a colourful pin cushion one side bruises more than other, I always give myself a piece of chocolate straight after

I wish you a smooth and speedy recovery.

    Take it easy.

Good morning to you both, I hope you had a good night Joan, it is lovely to get home isn't it, and I bet it was much easier to sleep than it was in the ward. Be careful today, hopping not required too much I hope! DD
