Hello lovely elna, thank you for your message. Oddly enough, today would appear to be one of the better ones but I have learned not to push my luck too far! I shall take things as they come.
I am glad you enjoyed your day and was able to steer things away from the hospital activities. One of my favourite children's book titles (from the Charlie and Lola series I think ) was 'I Absolutely Must Do Some Colouring Now!'. That sums up the urgency of childhood. 'I Absolutely Must Do Some Washing Up Now' doesn't have quite the same ring to it. Rest a little today - not an easy thing for you I know but it does help matters. I am thinking of you. DD
Indeed we clashed!Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Make the most of today then dear DD - we did clash but in a nice way. We even have some sun here, I hope you are sharing that with me.

Morning Elna,
We have a rather cautious sun in these parts. Not at all sure he wants to make an appearance.
I can so identify with your 'wanting all the ops to be over' thing but you are a positive person and will handle it. It is upsetting, annoying and, at times, frightening and all we can really say is that we will be with you all the way.
I do hope you don't catch Lola's cold. My son refers to my grandson's Day Care as 'The Little Germ Factory'.
Take care.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Sticky
I hope you have sun NOW! The little Germ Factory" - I love that - sooooo true! I hope your day is going smoothly.

Dear Elna still thinking of you and I know you will find a way to this. We have a bit of sun and it's warm but windy. Hope you have the sun and manage to get outside for a while.
Lots of love

Hi elna
Just popping in to see how you are.
I used to love reading to my daughter roald dahl books, sooty and raggy dolls plus others. It was a time to sit and relax rather than playing shops or with barbies.
I still have these items in the loft and hopefully one day they will come back down one day.
I am also pleased you managed a little walk and managed to take it carefully.
Sending you more hugs and well wishes (((())))

Dear Vonski
I did wander to the library, post a letter and go into the supermarket for a couple of bits - I rode my bicycle where I felt perfectly safe ie no traffic and the rest of the time mostly pushed my bike for support. I find that when out walking without something like my bike or Ian I feel rather vulnerable and have to concentrate with each stop. It seems much easier in the home but I notice it also when in the garden. But, my lovely Vonski, I do not have to describe to you how I feel when walking as unfortunately you know only too well about this kind of feeling. It is so good to see you posting. I do hope that you are getting along ok. I often think about you. The "hug me" bear is a constant reminder of you.
Lots of love and gentle hugs

Dear Julie
I am sure that the time will come when you will be dusting down those books and reading them again. I used to read for hours to my two, snuggled up on the settee. It was a rest for mummy as well! I do hope that children will always love being read to.
I do hope that your day has gone as smoothly as possible and thank you for keeping in touch.
Love and hugs

Hi Elna,
I am glad you enjoyed your day with Lola, it is indeed a blessing when youngsters are there to distract you. I know that you cannot help but be so aware of your neck so it is being sensible to take your time and watch where you are walking.
It is awful when your balance is out of sync, I have only had that when I had an ear infection and it was not very pleasant and I didn’t have the extra worry that you have with your neck.
It has been so cold and wet here so I am pleased you have had some sunshine at least. You are doing so well getting out for short periods, it is nice to do ‘normal’ things. So well done you!
You will get through this Elna and I do hope you get a date very soon for the procedure to go ahead; the waiting is awful I know.
Lots of gentle hugs,
Lv, I x0 -
Aw, thank you for your lovely posting, dear Ironic,
I am sorry your weather was nothing like here today. The washing soon dried and I was able to get it all ironed. Also made three GF loaves to put in the freezer for my son, for when he needs some more bread. I also had a call from one of my friends whom I used to work with many years ago and we have kept in touch. She told me that when I have had the op and ready to receive visitors, she will travel over to see me even if she has to leave at 6.00 am in the morning. I was very touched. You are so right, it is good to do "normal" things.
I hope you are okish,
Love

Hi Elna,
Oh that was so nice about your friend, it is very touching to know that people really do care about us. I don’t know why we are always surprised but it does so cheer us up.
I am hoping that the forecast for tomorrow is right and we do have a decent day for once. First lot of washing ready to go out first thing and there are some plants desperate to get their feet into the soil.
I am doing better than I have been for a while thank you for asking.
I x0 -
Dear Ironic
It is good to hear that you are having a good spell and long may that last. I too hope you have good drying weather for your washing and that you will be able to enjoy being in the garden.
It is getting late so I shall be off to bed very shortly,
Night, night, Ironic, sleep well,
Love

Hi DD,
Thank you for thinking of me. I hope your day has been ok too and that you shared the sunshine. I found it a bit of a struggle walking back from the supermarket with my bicycle laden with stuff and then managed to lose my cardi that I love. After a sit down at home I went out again and lo and behold my cardi had been put on a hedge. I was so happy to get it back - I have had it for years and love it so was really pleased I went out to try to find it and I thank the person that was kind enough to pick it up. I did not notice it the first time I went up the road. The cardi is a light green and it had been placed on a hedge of similar colour, but luckily I noticed it on the way back again. I baked two malt loaves today for the freezer too so that cheered me up
Look after yourself, DD,
Love

Isn't it nice to discover that there are good people in the world? I personally believe they are scattered all over the place but as usual all the bad ones get the publicity. Well done on the baking - I have fingers like sausages today so Mr DD has kindly consented to take me out for dinner tonight - result! I am glad I had the foresight to remove my wedding ring last night, no way would I be able to get it off now. I find I am wearing it less and less, which saddens me, but I don't ever want to have it cut off. Ooooh, sorry, went gloomy there for a mo. I apologise. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Don't worry about going a little gloomy dear DD - I am having my gloomy moments too, I can tell you especially with this last shock to the system in more ways than one.
Aw Mr DD taking you out to dinner, well that is good news.
That was good you removed your wedding ring. My hubby hardly wears his now, his excuse is because it makes his finger go manky!! It is a wide band so water stays underneath I suppose. I don't have that trouble and my hands are more in water than his. We went to a family christening recently and he said he would wear it for that occasion Can't have the family talking, can we?
You look after those sausages, DD and thank you for popping in. I think I shall make some butternut squash soup to freeze for wintery days to come.

Hi Elna,
Been thinking (always dangerous that one ) You know the fact that you are able to look for a silver lying will help you so much. I didn't used to do that but learned after a big head injury cus well its the way forward i that makes any sense?
Leaving you a cuppa and a ton of hopes all wrapped up in sparkly paper and on Haz's sledge... he and Miss l Legs are dragging it up to you but mind the paintwork on that door cus he doesn't always do good in maneuvering the boxes......
Really sending positive vibes and wishes ( a large smelly woolly one) with the hopes (((((( ))))) Cris who stopped making sense 3 stops back but knows what it means xx0 -
Hi my dearest Elna,
Hope you've managed a better day today. We've had torrential rain today, just in time for yet another blood test. Plus side R got a lot wetter than me.0 -
Hi Cris
Thank you for the cuppa and the boxes on Haz's sledge plus the hugs and positive wishes and vibes. Our door did not suffer too much but if I had had prior warning I would have left it wide open. I agree, thinking can be dangerous so I am trying not to do too much of that atm.
You take care now and look after yourself as well as your brood.
Love

Dear Vonski
Friday improved as the day wore on, thank you.
I am sorry that you did not share the sunshine we had today. I do believe you are laughing about R getting much wetter than you! I won't tell him.
Lots of love

Hi Elna,
Glad they arrived and didn't do damage to the door I see it as very shiny and red, what colour i it really
One day at a time my friend, one day at a time... looking forward gets a bit jumbled eh?
You will be fine though and you have so many good and positive vibes coming from all of this lot the fates have to listen to them!
You get a good night and Haz came back with a cake but not sure if you gave it to him or he nicked on route
Sleep well. ((((( ))))) and love Cris xx0 -
Hi Cris
I gave Haz some malt loaf but that was devoured immediately so like you suspect it was either given to him en route or nicked! Did he share it with you? By the way our door is painted white but we have bright red, fairly shiny tiles in the porch so you were not way out with the colour scheme
I hope life will treat you gently today, you are most certainly going through it.
Love and hugs
