I'm so sorry ive not been on much supporting anyone, I'm in trouble with the shoulder. My sister's a nurse and came to see me after her shift yesterday armed with ice packs, shoulder support and much needed TLC, she surprised me by saying she thinks this is the worst she's seen me, that takes some doing with the Humira reaction/wrist break/pleurisy rubbish over the last 10 months.
I've had 3 hours sleep so won't be on much today, I send my love, support, and positive thoughts for all those on the forum suffering pain.'grá agus solas'

Aw, dear Poppy, TLC most definitely does help doesn't it? You must be in a bad way for your nurse sis to comment and you have been though the mill haven't you and I am so sorry.
You try to get some zeeeeees today, I can well appreciate how much pain your shoulder is giving you as I have the same. I hope you will be able to take it easy today.
Love and gentle hugs

Thankyou to all of you who helped me so much with support, advice and hugs I'm very grateful.
I saw my surgeon yesterday who says its not rotator cuff (as thought before by GP and Rheumy nurse) but frozen shoulder again  he gave me an injection into the joint with ultrasound and I feel a bit better he's going to talk to my Rheumy about coming off my meds for the surgery so all in all a good appointment and hopefully it'll be fixed fairly soon.
Thanks again my friends love and hugs to you all (((((()))))) X'grá agus solas'

I'm very pleased the injection has helped a bit and I also hope it will 'be fixed fairly soon' too, Poppy. Now, what about that little 'coming off the meds' bit? In your case that sounds a bit daunting. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I am glad to hear that the injection helped, is the prospective surgery for the shoulder? (Please accept my apologies for being a dimwit.) Anyhoo, I hope it is all feeling a deal easier today. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi all,
Shoulder still feeling the good effects of the injection, but the movement is very restricted, it's for that reason that he's going to operate and 'free up the shoulder'. He has done this operation before on me 5 years ago, that was due to lifting a 4 yr old that weighed more than me :???: this time I've no idea other than PA?
I'm catching up on my sleep I think because I'm exhausted! Hope everyone has a pain free day X'grá agus solas'

Morning poppy
Sorry I haven't popped in for a few days on your thread. I am pleased to read that you have now had an injection in your shoulder and that it is helping.
Catching up on your sleep when you can is a good thing too.
Hope you have a good day today
Take care

Poppy l echo what Julie has said and am glad they have jabbed you and that it has helped a bit.
Even more glad they are going to do 'more' and operate to free taht shoulder up.
Love and hugs

Poppy your rheumy sounds lovely. I am pleased the injection worked. Shoulder pain is the pits. Sending you (((hugs))), TLC and a heat pad.0

I agree with Suzygirl. Shoulder pain is horrible because it's virtually impossible to arrange the arm in such a way that it doesn't hurt.
I hope the jab continues to work, Poppy. I hope you manage OK without the meds. (???!!!) I hope the op helps.
You are, paradoxically, very strong but are always here to offer anything we can to help.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

It sounds as though things can be sorted, and hopefully sooner rather than later. I am still thinking of you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi,
I've just got my operation date through, Monday 19th October. I've left a msg with my Rheumy as no ones said anything about when I'm meant to come off the methotrexate, enbrel etc. Will keep you updated, but would be really grateful for pocket duties for the op :???: I'll only be in one night thankfully but they've already booked physio for the next day!
Thanks everyone take care Xxx'grá agus solas'

That is good, at least you have a bit of time to get things sorted, hope you hear back from the rheumy soon though..
Best of luck with it PopsterMe-Tony
