News on Iris (Dorcas)

Hi All,

Sh went in ok and was either seeing the anesthetist and the surgeon tonight or in the morning. She seems ok and all I can say is they better look after her :lol:

The evil one goes tomorrow and she will be so much better without him! I love how free I am with other peoples joints :wink:

    Hi Val, Berty, Vonski, Sue and Marion,

    Have just passed your messages on and Iris said to thank you ans tell you she is very calm about it all and its thanks to all the good vibes coming from the forum.

    She is first on the list which is good and I so hope it will all go well and easy for her. Guess we all do eh? Thanks again and she sends hugs to you all too. Cris xx

    Glad you're keeping us informed Cris.

    I'm so glad Iris is calm it's probably all those calming draughts you sent :wink: If she's first on the list it should all be over by about 10 a.m., let's hope so.

    Will it be that early? I hope so for her. Its so about time this one!

    Will chuck her some more calmers in the morning and she will want to say thanks to you cus I might not have time to post before I go.... depends on how well I wake up......

    Dear Cris, thank you for keeping us informed about Iris. I would think she would be calm, that is our Iris, through and through. I was first on the list and it was all systems go at 9. 40 am, in theatre at 9.45 am prodded and "poked" :shock: and I was out like a light a few minutes later. :smile: She's a brave lass. She will be fine. I feel it in my old arthritic spine. :smile:

    Our first operation is started at 8:30 a.m. - so Iris could be done and dusted now. :grin:

    HI all

    got an update from Iris at 1.30 this afternoon. Bit late posting it :oops:

    She's out of surgery and all went well :grin:

    I think those of us who think Iris is a gutsy lady are right - she was allowed a spinal rather than a GA :eek: She says it was great and she never felt a thing :grin: They even gave her kneecap a wash and brush up :wink:

    She's being well looked after on the ward. Plenty of pain relief. Confined to bed and laid flat. Pretty tired but otherwise fine.

    wow what a lady eh? I'm so pleased that the evil one has gone :grin:

    Iris well done, I am pleased you are now back on the ward and being well looked after. (good job as you have a lot of pocket dwellers that they would have to answer to :smile: )

    So pleased I had a quick look on the forum before going for a nap, so happy for her that it is over and I am sure no one is more pleased than our Iris. What good news. She'll be up and out of bed tomorrow. Bless her.

    Do send Iris my love and tell her to take all the medication going if there is the slightest suspicion that she is in discomfort.
