Nikki's having a few pains but they aren't too bad. Maybe! Maybe not!Christine0

I'm getting sympathy pains with all the waiting, applerose
I hope that Nikki is coping and that baby will arrive soon.

Just been told - all systems go. But Nikki wants dinner before they set off on the half hour drive to the hospital.Christine0

Brilliant news, applerose :!: I knew my sympathy pains were getting stronger
I hope all will go well for Nikki, and look forward to hearing the good news soon.0 -
She has decided she didn't have time to eat. Contractions quickly became about 4 minutes apart so Gary threw everything in the car and off they went. They filled the car. Looked like they were off on holiday. Tyg and I are watching cartoons now.Christine0

It's a girl. 9 lbs 14 ozs. They were only at the hospital an hour and Nikki needed the toilet. Hadn't reached the labour ward. The nurse walked past and realised it was the baby coming. Didn't have time to give her pain relief or get her in to bed so she had baby on the toilet floor. Happened to my mum too with my brother.Christine0

Thank you all. Just waiting for the all clear from the paediatrician and they need to stay for 24 hours so should be allowed out around 7-8 tonight. Having some rest while Tyg is in bed for his nap.Christine0

Congratulations Applerose and family what a good weight hope mum and baby are doing fineStay positive always👍xx0

Thank you.
Paediatrician didn't show up and baby has lost a little weight. They thought Tyg had lost too much weight so kept them in for a few nights. It turned out, it was only because the student midwife had recorded his weight wrong. So Nikki has to stay in again tonight. They will weigh baby in the morning again and hopefully the paed will turn up early.Christine0 -

Thank you everyone. Haven't had much chance to get on the internet. It's just all go here. Nikki got home on Monday afternoon. Baby hadn't put any weight on but neither had she lost any more. Poor Nikki was like a zombie. She'd had almost no sleep as there were 3 other women in the same room and each baby woke up at a different time, plus the nurses were busying away till nearly 1 in the morning and again from about 6 in the morning. She's much better now though being back home and in her own bed. Our plan is that Nikki sees to the baby through the night, Gary gets up with Tyg if he wakes up and I get up with Tyg in the morning letting Nikki and Gary sleep in.
They are calling the baby Neeve but haven't decided on the spelling yet. It could be Nyv so that it's a bit like the spelling of Tyg, a bit like the Irish Niahm (pronounced Neeve) with a y in the middle from Spanish (because they lived in Spain for quite a while).
Tyg was shaking with excitement when baby came home. He thought it was brilliant having his very own baba. Then he got himself in to a terrible state when he saw mum feeding baby and there was a table between them and him so he couldn't get to mum. He cried on and off for a few hours and would't go to bed till very late. Fortunately, he has settled down again and is fine as long as he can sit with them when he wants to.
I am either on the go chasing Tyg, nappy changing, putting on the washer, dryer or emptying and refilling the dryer or on alert the whole day in case Nikki and Gary are otherwise tied up and Tyg is getting in to mischief. I'm really tired now but only have 3 days left before I go home but I'm having a brilliant time.
Oh, did I mention the dog, Mango.Christine0
