Hi @Jamielee I don't think I have told you that I have got a metal plate and six screws in my right foot, big toe fusion, and I was seeing a foot and ankle specialist on the Wirral in 2018 and had two guided steroid injections in my left foot, and I am under my pain management consultant on the island and am awaiting to have steroid injections in my left foot hopefully soon.

Hey @Jamielee, I totally understand I’m only 23 and I got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2017. my friends don’t understand my pain and what I go through, and how I feel because I’ve lost confidence in myself because I struggle with a lot of things xx

Hello hope you don't mind I've just been reading your posts I'm new on here and I do relate to what you say about keeping it bottled up that's my defence mechanism but to be honest this past week I've been trying to get myself to face the fact that I have arthritis and I'm never going to be able to do exactly what I want anymore but instead set myself little things that I can do and if I do achieve them well there's a little victory for myself against my arthritis hope you are doing well 😊

Hi @Christian78 aw I hope you get your joint injections soon!! My necks been really stiff past couple days, I can’t hardly move I’m okay tho, getting through the days!! I’m glad to be able to talk again, and yes I have had to write mine down, I hope the pain in your feet gets better. I hope your safe and I’ll speak soon or tomorrow x

@Jewels hi, i am sorry to hear about your arthritis, it’s horrible! I don’t tend to talk to my friends much about it as I don’t want to put it on them and they don’t completely understand. I still haven’t come to terms that I have RA and I have had it now 11 years, I’m slowly starting to realise I can’t beat myself up about being different! It helps to talk so make sure you don’t bottle it all up.. I hope your safe and well. Speak soon xx

Hi @Christian78 I've only just seen your message I've just got back from my appointment with the consultant and he's referring me to reumotology to see if I need to go on meds which I'm a bit worried about and he said I definitely need to have a hip replacement because my wear and tear on it is really bad but other than all that I'm OK lol thanks. I'm sorry to hear that you can't have your injection it's a flipping nightmare ain't it and I hope you get back to sleeping better it's really nice of you to ask how I'm doing I've got my kids 5 in total but I don't want to worry them all the time so I just muddle along like you do and my mum lived in the Isle of man many years ago she loved it so what have you been doing to stay sane at the moment?

Hi @Jewels that's some good news that you have been to see the consultant today I would try some meds thought see if they help you nothing lost nothing gained, sorry to hear that you will have to have a hip replacement but hopefully will help you into the future get rid of the pain ect, I am sleeping better been put on pregablen one capsule at night, I phoned the hospital yesterday and my appointment still stands but all appointments are under constant review due to lockdown, it's must be difficult with a big family and having a bad hip and being in pain keep putting a brave face on its not easy thought, that nice to hear that your mum lived on the Isle of Man many years ago, we are in 21 day circuit breaker lockdown at moment it's a nightmere, I have been building model motorcycles keep my mind active going for a walk once a day that it, most of the time stuck in side, stay safe, and keep in touch let me know how your getting on with your hip!

Hope you get a new hip replacement soon as quality of life is so important for people living with arthritis including myself, my feet are playing up today aching and tingling pains.

    Best wishes @Christian78

Hi@Christian78 I'm fine thanks I don't get my meds until I've been for my appointment with reumotology with my consultant referring me to reumotology does this mean he thinks I have reumotoid arthritis I'm getting really anxious about it tbh I just chilled out yesterday sorry your getting loads of gip with your feet must be horrible for ya I'm only taking co codamol at the moment for the pain it helps but I don't think anything actually kills all the pain does it what you up to today owt or nowt not decided myself yet lol speak soon 😊

Hi @Jewels glad to hear that your ok, I am not sure but it sounds like you have reumotoid arthritis, I have osteoarthritis arthritis, no matter which arthritis we have at the end of the day it's arthritis and we have to live with it everyday unfortunately it isn't make it any easier try and stay calm and think positive remain as strong as you can meds only lessen the effects of pain but the hard bit is to find the meds that works best for you, I have changed lots of times to different painkillers as some didn't work for me or had side affects, co-codamol I have taken these and could take paracetamol as well, but the co-codamol made me constipated so stopped using it.

No I think most painkillers only suppress the pain as long as your taking the correct dosage ect.

I take Etoricoxib 90 mg on a day seem to help but don't have the full pain relief just maskes it.

And I take pregablen for neuropathy nerve pain and to help me sleep.

And hopefully having joint injections on 27th January fingers crossed.

I have been for a walk, and chilling out at the moment resting my feet aren't to bad today just stiff and ankle is puffed up a bit.

Take care, speak soon stay safe, keep in touch:-)

Hi @Jewels sorry for the late reply, yes I have been to hospital today and had two steroid injections in to my left foot ultra sound guided very painful under local anesthesia, at home resting my foot up taking paracetamol, pain specialist thinks that mid foot Fusion surgery would be my best option instead of steroid injections and oral medication, I have contacted the orthopedic surgeon today and I need a new referral from my GP so I can see the surgeon about mid foot Fusion, so will see what happens with this, anyway how are things with you how is your pain? Hip? Have you been having good days and poor day's I have been not so good, take care keep in touch speak soon:-)
