Waiting for Abatacept to work
Hi
I'm about 3 months in to this drug and am still 'painfully' waiting for it to work... Would love to hear from anyone it has worked for after a wait. My large joints are better but severe swelling and deformity in my hands still. Seeing a hand therapist and really doing all I can in the meantime.
Did it work for you eventually? The rheum has said 4 to 6 months.
Thank you X

Hi @coffeetable3 - our information we have here says it can take 6-12 weeks to start working. Have a look here:
I'm hoping someone in the community who's had experience of this will be able to come on and share their experience. Do please feel free to come back and share how you're feeling - even if you just need to vent. We're very happy for you to do that.
In the meantime, you might want to look at other ways to cope with your pain. Do have a look here and see if it helps - there are some ideas which I've found really helpful:
Lovely to meet you!
