Hi there I have chronic fibromyalgia and I had been living with it for years before a doctor took me seriously and diagnosed me. I have horrific pain all day and night and the fatigue is the worst. I cannot do most things I used to and IF I have a goofing day , it completely wiped me out for a week or so. I find driving difficult on my knees and hips and had to buy an automatic car. I have swapped my diet to a FODMAP one and have taken lactose out as well. That has eased my IBS but I feel like my fibromyalgia is actually getting worse as I get older.

Welcome to the online community, we are a friendly group and hopefully you will find some useful help and advice.

You have fibromyalgia and are seeking advice on things that you can do to help manage this.

Fibromyalgia symptoms can vary from person to person, so it’s difficult to predict how long you will have the condition and the impact it will have on your life and I'm sorry to hear that currently you are finding it difficult to manage your symptoms.

Although there’s currently no cure, there are treatments, therapies and self-management techniques that can improve your quality of life. Therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which is a talking therapy, try to reduce the overwhelming effect of problems such as stress, unhappiness and pain, have you thought about speaking to your GP to see if this is a treatment you could be referred for?
