My New Diagnosis
Hello everyone,
So, I'm a music teacher and have recently started experiencing stiffness and pain in one finger. Having taught older adults and helping my mum I had a horrible feeling I knew what it was but saw the GP yesterday to check
I was still hoping he'd say it was an infection or injury but, unfortunately, my fears were confirmed - it is osteoarthritis.
It is just this one finger and I'm not in too much pain currently but it's mostly about the emotional impact right now, as I think about where this is heading and how much my work is going to be affected - nevermind everything else.
Anyway, the NHS arthristis page recommended this site and so ... here I am, hoping for some friendly support and advice going forwards.

Thank you @Naomi33
I struggled a bit emotionally this weekend as I tried to come to terms but am feeling a bit more positive today.
I have found this forum to be a great help so far and looking forward to getting involved in more conversations.
Thanks for the lovely welcome. 😊
