HI everyone. Had to rejoin as no idea what old details were. During the years in between I've had a TLHR in June 22 and a TRKR in October 23. I was making a great recovery from both by December 24.

Then left hip decided to conk out, bone on bone again and back on s long nhs waiting list. Getting so fed up with everything aching and hurting again. Both knees now hurting after much activity due to wonky gait again.

Still working age 57 and need a loud moan. Fed up with friends telling me to hurry up every time I go out.

Hi @Montysmum who were you 'before'? Maybe I will recognise your name.

Sorry to hear you are on the operation rollercoaster again you must be sick of it.

Since you were last on we have had some great hip replacement threads running here. Some of the people called affectionately 'the hippies' including @Trish9556 , @Fran54 , @Janlyn to name but a few. @Wobblylegs is currently recovering from hers as is @alwayssewing .

Take care and good luck hope the wait isn't too long for you.

    Toni x

    Hi @Montysmum

Im sorry you're sufferng so much again.

If you are living in England, you have the right to choose where you have your treatment via the nhs choices scheme. It even includes private hospitals at no cost to you so make sure you're on the shortest list closest to you. My lovely physio made sure I was at the best hospital when she referred me which was the local private hospital five miles away. My waiting list was months, not years.

If you haven't been offered a choice then ask if you can choose.

Unfortunately the default seems to be your local NHS hospital regardless.

If your friends are impatient, give them your sticks/crutches and tell them to try your life out unable to weight bear on your bad hip!

    Good luck

    Trish
