Hi @cocoa
Thank you for your post to the Helpline. I'm attaching our information about Hip replacement where you will find mention of the things which are needed for the post-op phase. Armchair/sofa and loo seat all need to be raised and the hospital Occupational Therapists will go over this with you. The main items should be provided, but if anything needs to be bought they can discuss with you how to do this. As you have plenty of time you might organise a phone call with your GP and they will be able to tell you how the supply of such items is organised in your area. (Another option is to ring the medical secretaries at orthopaedics and find out from them what's currently supplied and if there are items you need to source for yourself.) For more information about aids and equipment, look up 'Your Home' on our website.
It's particularly important to keep moving in the run up to your surgery - please see the lets move information, below.

Hi @cocoa
You might be interested to see more information about recovering from hip replacement if you go to the website of the Royal College of Surgeons, they do a series called Get Well Soon - and you chose the part of the body. The information is really detailed. It talks about the things you can do in the weeks following surgery, at different stages.
all the best

Hello @cocoa
This thread should help you

If you run a general search on hip surgery you should also find lots of threads from members, including myself, on our experiences having total hip replacements. Please feel free to ask any questions, we are a friendly lot :)
