I should ignore them and do your own research /ask advice here or with your gp. AI listens and follows everything you do unfortunately.

@Evariste Galois, when I first went to my GP with hip pain he prescribed ibuprofen 10% gel, which I found eased the pain to an extent. Before my recent hip replacement, I was still managing just with the ibuprofen gel at night, although found that I had to re-apply it after 4 hours. It did give me temporary relief which enabled me to get back to sleep for a few hours.
You can also get that and other topical joint relief treatments (sometimes known as non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDS) over the counter, but I would ask your GP, or if your surgery has a clinicial pharmacist they might be able to help. The NHS website also says something about NSAIDS and capsaicin cream under Osteoarthritis - Treatment and Support, but also recommends discussing with your GP.

Good morning @Evariste Galois a very quick welcome to the online community from the moderating team.
@Jane18 is quite right there are some creams which can help with arthritis pain Non-steroidal anti inflammatory ones for instance information here (scroll down to the section about NSAIDs):
and here is some information about Capsaicin too:
Trish is quite right it's best to do reliable research yourself and this site is a good place for that.
Best wishes
Ellen.
