Recently diagnosed with RA been struggling for 5 years for answers

ughhh where to begin. I’m not liking these med trials. Methotrexate caused side effects and now I think leflunomide is causing side effects. If it were tolerable it would be fine but it’s not. Has anyone gotten sores on their face or felt extremely emotional and overall feeling sick? My pain feels different but still very much there.
By the way I’m new here!!!


I’ve also noticed different treatment in different countries. I’d appreciate thoughts on that?

    Morning @mbedoya421 and welcome to the online community.

    Sorry to hear your concerns about new medications MTX I was put on that alongside Hydrochloroquine but MTX did not suit me and affected my liver so was taken off it but did seem to ease pain. I was then put on Yuflyma injections only my fourth injections so still early stages fingers crossed. I am being treated for Pallindromic Rheumatoid Arthritis.

    Unfortunately It does seem like trial and error as everyone is different.

    What form of Arthritis do you have?

    Hi @mbedoya421 Sorry to hear of your struggles. Unfortunately it is the nature of treatments for RA that it is a bit trial and error because we all react to treatments difficulty. I suggest you discuss your issues with your Rheumatology nurse. And I'm sure other members of our community will give you their views soon.
