Racing commentator Sir Peter O'Sullivan has died at the age of 97.
As I look out at another grey wet day, and put on another layer to keep warm, I remind myself of two things. The start of the school holidays often causes a spell of bad weather, and my sister in Scotland forwarded a recent weather forecast for her area.... of snow and frost! Snow on the hilltops isn't exceptional but…
I received it last week and it's emblazoned with, to me, the new symbol meaning it's a contactless card. This means I could wave it (or my purse holding it) over the payment terminal (once the right payment selection was chosen) and the transaction would happen without my entering the PIN. The current shop limit is £20 but…
The toy, not the ones you eat. Yes, for me. No, I couldn't. Easy peasy aged 9: rubbish aged 69. What went wrong?

First problem - don't…

One was the rollover of a freebie from last year that is now being charged for but the main reason is that my 15 year old Daihatsu version of a Nissan…

Without exception, all teams were beautifully turned-out, and played each match in a wonderful spirit. Cries of "well played" were heard from all areas of the ground, and end of match handshakes were vigorously exchanged.…
….even the healthy ones find themselves faced with lots of medical appointments. Our GPs are good at keeping an eye on us and often clip messages to our prescriptions. Following one such, I noticed Mr SW had 'Doc. 10am' on the calendar for this morning. I asked what it was for. Him: Blood test. Me: What for? Him: Routine…
