I went for my bloods check today and I was told that they no longer fill in the MTX booklet with your previous blood results. Is it just my local Hospital or is it nationwide? I'm a bit miffed about this as now I have to rely on the medical staff and have no idea how I'm actually doing. Also does anybody else on here get…
So what? That goes with the territory, doesn't it? Yes, it does, yada yada yada but what I am finding far more tiresome is making the best of things. I need a break from being polite, encouraging and upbeat. This is how it is. I hurt because I have arthritis. I hurt all the time because I have arthritis. I am doubly…
As we all know, our medication suppresses our immune systems. A couple of years ago I went through a whole year of frequent sinus infections which all eventually required antibiotics. This was resolved by cutting my leflunomide from 20 to 10 mg. 5 months ago, Erelzi was added to the mix and WHAM, I’ve just had 5 weeks of…
This year I have had three pretty painful incidents of falling down. I am a bit worried as I have not fallen over since I was a child. The most recent fall was 4 weeks ago and resulted in a broken shoulder. Unbelievably, I only found out today that my shoulder was in fact broken. For the past month, I thought it was just…
It's getting towards that time of year and I suddenly realised that in the last twelve months we've met many folk on here who are new to living with an auto-immune arthritis. You may not know that if you are taking a DMARD then you are entitled to a free 'flu jab from your GP's surgery. I have had an annual 'flu jab for…
Well September has been a very busy month which is why instead of selling at a craft market today I am sat at home in my pyjamas and dressing gown. So, my house went on the market on the 11th, I had a couple of evening viewings and then an open house on the 22nd and then recieved three offers and accepted one on the 24th!…
Hi there! I'm new on this forum. I don't know if I have arthritis, but I thought this would be the best place to look for help. I'll try my best to explain. I was born with a deformity in my right hand. I have 4 fingers - my pinky is one bone that splits off into two at the top (So I have two fingernails). My ring finger…
Hello! I am trying to modify simple bike handle bars for my father for his birthday who is a keen cyclist but unfortunately has arthritis in his fingers. Please could you comment or reply below describing some of the issues you face when cycling due to arthritis, so I know what do do that would be greatly appreciated!…
I am developing new pain, this time in the connective tissue between shoulders and neck. If I move the wrong way, I get knife-like pains in the shoulder muscles and tendons. Has anyone experiences this? I do have scoliosis and the shoulders without rotator cuffs, so my muscles are all out of place. Thanks for any responses.
I have midfoot arthritis, one foot only, one joint advanced and 3 others with arthritis showing. This followed an inversion trauma 2 and a half years ago. It has has been a long journey, primarily of grief and a difficulty with "acceptance". I've never stopped trying, almost relentlessly, to understand and improve upon my…
