Hi, my name is Mel and I have lived with arthritis for about 10 years. I am hoping to be able to get hints and tips on managing my pain. Looking forward to interacting with you.
Its weird. I am off painkillers, but when I go to bed my elbows stiffen up and become painful to move, in fact its so hard to move them they nearly become locked. Its a new symptom while every other joint is perfectly happy and strength has come back. Knees ok. Ankles ok. Shoulders a bit stiff. Hands a bit stiff. What is…
I had THR exactly 3 weeks ago today. Although the hip was stage 4 and in a poor state before the op and I had limited range of movement I had very little pain and was able to function. Now 3 weeks after the op the pain has been terrible especially at night. I am lucky if I can sleep for more than about 1.5 hours. The leg…
Hi All 2nd time poster.. 1st time seeking .. reassurance maybe? I’m 7 week post THR - I’m 53 and otherwise a picture of health ha! Hi, any biologic users here? I started my first injection of adalimubab on Wednesday….. it’s Sunday now and I’ve had the most awful stomach cramps and upset stomach! Has anyone else found this? If so, how long should I expect it to last,? I’d appreciate any advice xx
I was diagnose with PSA nearly 2 years ago after an mri showed synovitis in my hands and feet. I've been on 3 dmards so far and they want to put me on biologics now. Today they had me in for an ultrasound and x rays. The ultrasound showed a tiny bit of synovitis in one hands but also showed some fluid in a few areas. I am…
Hello All I have recently been diagnosed with facet joints arthrosis with small Cyst and along with other conditions and I am at a stage where I feel so depressed and anxious since this and my GP hasn’t been helpful and it’s left me feeling helpless and hopeless at this stage and I have chosen to come on here and see if…
Morning. I have patellofemoral arthritis and was wondering what exercises to avoid. The pain seems to be getting worse really quick. I know they say motion is lotion but it’s not working for me. Has anyone got rid of the crepitus noise or has it improved and the constant clicking? Thank you
I thought it best to start a new discussion because this time it's my knees being done. There was a bit of a hiccup when I arrived on 10th of December for my x-rays and consultation about having my knees done, the consultant wasn't there ,he'd gone away. They did do the x-rays though. I had a phone conversation this week…
Hi everyone I've been doing meditations but can anyone give me advice please on how to stay calm before the op ? I met the consultant today and he said because my hip is so bad it has extra bone & the op will take longer Also he advised that the spinal block is better than the general anesthesia? Thanks in advance Jean
