Newbie here, I will be having a Left knee replacement soon, going for my appointment with Orthopaedic consultant and pre op too next month. I will be getting my operation within the next 3 months. I have osteoarthritis in both knees, for the last seven years. Started with a bakers cyst on my right knee. I am still working…
I have been recommended for a total hip replacement (THR), after a procedure carried out at a Charing Cross Hospital, in inner London failed. I had a hyaluronic acid injection (Ostenil), and Cortisone injection at the same time into my right hip two years ago, where within one hour of that procedure being carried out I…
Hi I have been suffering with sciatica symptoms for two months, and awful knee pain. My GP seems to think that the low back isn’t causing knee pain. What is confusing is that when the low back pain eases off so do the knees .
My 70 year old dad has suffered with gout, DVT and osteoarthritis for over 40 years. He is currently waiting on a knee replacement (date of operation TBC), after having a hip replacement in 2021. I am able to cope relatively well at the moment on either Ibuprofen gel or tablets but I wonder what the future will hold. I am normally relatively…
I have recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knee. The calf muscle on the same leg has become swollen, with a painful ache. My local hospital ran tests and found nothing out of the ordinary. Medical staff believe that there is a strain on my calf muscle due to the osteoarthritis in my knee. I just wondered if…
Has anyone tried prolotherapy injections? Do they work? A quick Google search brought up lots of promising studies on prolotherapy effectiveness for treating osteoarthritis pain - better efficacy than both exercise and cortisone injections.
