Hi everyone, Chris, Cris (when you manage to get on here), Joan, Jan, Joy, Trish, Del..............
I have just got back from the doctor's I saw a dear little doctor, still wet behind the ears, but hey, he was polite, thorough and didn't ask me any disconcerting questions. His conclusions? I have an ear infection, a throat infection and will soon have a chest infection and I have to go back on Thursday to see if it has arrived. I've got AB's but only the tack-hammer variety. I have a feeling that this lot will need a sledgehammer before they go away!
I am sweating buckets and have been all day, which at least saves on the heating, wish I knew what to do about it. Am I the only person in the country who sits here of an evening without heating and with the window open when the temp outside is -ridiculous?

I think I had better have a sandwich, something soft. I'd eat more soup, but that will be hot and my specs are sliding down my nose as it is.
What shall I put in the sarnie?

    Annie
cheese and tomatoe nice and soft if u grate the cheese

Val, that's exactly what I had! A good thing too, because I have just been flabbergasted; in fact, I can't quite remember when my flabber was quite so gasted last........

The surgery have just phoned to say they have the results of my blood tests back.............what! I only had it done this morning. Anyway, it appears my potassium levels are very low and they are suggesting I eat more bananas and tomatoes! They are also leaving me an Rx to collect tomorrow for some supplements.......

I'm not sure what's happening up there, it seems only 5 minutes ago that it took 10 days to get blood test results through and then only if you were lucky. I will have to google potassium; I know vaguely that it's found in bananas, but can't remember exactly what it does.

Jan, I'm one of those that paracetamol does nothing for. I've been gargling with salt water/aspirin, I find that gives me quite good results for this kind of thing.

I've brought the smoothie maker in. We can start making all kinds now. We shall be a healthy lot after having these.
Also, bucket load of bananas. We'll have you swinging round the light fittings in no time Annie. You will probably find you will sleep better when your potassium level is up.

Jan. You're not feeling good either and Skezier. big((((((((((((())))))))))). hope yu feel better soon.
I'm amazed at how quickly that blood sample result came in. Mine are normally back from the hospital the same day, but not within 2 hours.
The result goes to both my Rheumy and gp at the same time. We've got a Web site to our Surgery service now, so that you can make your own appointments, get your results the lot. If you want to send an email to your gp with a worry, query, that's useful. I was given a password the other day and decided that I would change it at the first opportunity to something I could remember, but then when I logged on couldn't find the number they had given me. Oh well,

I was in hospital a long while ago and she had that, good job they done your bloods.

Poor woman she did not know what day it was. She kept undressing herself and getting out of bed completely did not understand anything. She used to keep us awake at night.

Evenutally they did find out, it was the same as you Annie. They put her on a drip and as it took affect she went back as she was again.

I had a laugh with her, as I had been in ther nearly 10 months then, and I told her a little of what she had done, she had no memory of it. I didn't do it nasty it was her hubby who told her and she thought he was larking about.

He told her to talk to me. We had such a laugh when she was well.

Oh Trish, you reminded me of when I was in having my hysterectomy. I had it done in what was then the small cottage hospital here. The weekend after I had had it done an aquaintance of mine came in to have her bunions done - that was on the Saturday.
On the Sunday 'someone' bought me in a bottle of wine. I shared it with my friend and it is one of my most cherished memories - the pair of us getting totally p*ssed in hospital! The doctor came to do his rounds, took one look at us and said 'I can see that you are both improving' and left in a hurry!

Wonky, I will be glad to have Littlelegs as a nurse, but please could she bark quietly as ears are hurting. As soon as she's visited me, shall I send her to Cris for tomorrow? Not to mention Trish! She will be so tired by the time she gets back that she will eat all her lovely food and won't worry you for about a week!
