Wonky, so sorry you are down - I have a friend who does Tai Chi and she says it's really helping her, wish I thought I could do it. Have watched it but cannot remember what goes next all the time so would feel very silly doing it.
Please have some more apple pie - I could bring in an apple and blackberry one for anyone who fancies it, still have some blackberries in the freezer.

Sorry haven't had time to catch up yet, but now realise the post I had made here was a bit flip and insensitive in the context of the serious chats. Apologies to you all
Take care all.

AWWWEEE Wonky
I hope you feel a little better tomorrow. If you do not come in tonight, we will at least know you have not been kidnapped.
Val
It is up to you, the coach can come out or we can arrange a day trip out in it. I'm sure nearly everyone would love that.
Think of the fun we can have, all through spring and summer. We can go anywhere in the Sky Lark Coach.0 -

believe me Annie that's what I thought 2 years ago ..... but now I'm showing others and it feels really strange ........ have a very good teacher & the thing with T'ai Chi is that it is lots of repetition so if you forget you get to learn it again and again, so there is not the pressure that I thought there would be.
I am also much more able to adapt things to what I can do each week ..... my teacher is very good at helping and everyone in the class needs to adapt some things at some time. I jsut get carried away with myself sometimes and forget to sit down for a bit and get a breather!
You should see me swinging the nunchucks round like a pro - not sure what kind of pro though .... I miss catching them half the time good job they are padded and not really hard sticks0 -
I might have a look round, Wonky, when we've moved house as it's a much larger town with more going on.
I did go and sit in on a couple of classes at the local leisure centre some time ago, but it all seemed very serious and ritualistic? not sure if that's the word I want.
Wasn't really what I was looking for at the time - more the disco dancing was what I had in mind!

it is very repetitive and quite moving when everyone is moving together, but I think it depends on the teacher and the particular style of T'ai Chi you do.
the style I am learning is LFA (lee Family Arts) T'ai Chi. If you google the name you will be able to see about it. It concentrates on health and well-being rather than the martial arts side of things (says she who has been flinging nunchucks around )0 -

Do you think I could get any benefit from going, bearing in mind I'm in a wheelchair plus have oxygen on at all times.????0 -
Trisher - I am really not sure .... it may be that you could adapt it to only follow the hand/arm movements, but there is quite a lot of changing balance from one leg to another, and turning.
I could ask my teacher if anyone has ever asked her ..... she is always up for a challenge .... we spent today trying to find a way to adapt one move so that my shoulders could cope.0 -
Hello Everyone,
Thought i would pop in for a quick chat. Hope everyone is feeling ok?

I was never any use at PE etc, but I enjoy the Tai Chi as you do it at your own level, and it isn't hard work, and yes we do have a good laugh too!
Good to see you in here Anne, hope you had a better day today?0 -
I was a square peg in a round hole if there ever was one, in a school which was very sports orientated. PE? Forget it! Team games? No chance, cos I couldn't run.....................BUT put me on a dance floor and I was off! No one could explain it and it's still a total mystery to me.........
Gotta go now for my night time puffing session, if I don't think about what I am doing I will start breathing the wrong way round and that will never do!
Just grab a builders before I start, see you all later!

Today was nice my Aunt took me out for some lunch and we had a catch up. Was really tired when I got back though.
Busy tomorrow getting my hair coloured and then physio, which I haven't done any since my last visit, trouble ahead.
Got a call today saying that they were trying to push through all the security checks so I could start work next week. I said I couldn't start until Wednesday but I don't think the checks will be complete on time.
Annie, I know you had been ill has it gone into your chest?
Jan, How's the baby?0 -

Val
Must have gone off to have a bath and an early night. I do hope she is not sitting there worrying herself. Remember it is your body and you can always refuse to let her do it again, or tell her you have had enough.
Cris
She is not in yet.
Chris
I asked the helpline about the Dead Sea and they said they saw the programme or someone did and they went there a few of them. It did nothing for them
Annie
Don't peak too early or you might flow quicker than you thought. Wonder what would appen if you peaked and flowed at the same time :shock:0 -
Wonky
Help yourself to as much as you want, it is there to be eaten.0
