Hi Joan
I hope you and your sister will have a nice Easter too.
I can't seem to motivate myself today, and keep starting and stopping different jobs.
A nice big mug of tea would go down very well.0 -
Hi all.
Again, sitting in the cafe, I have three jobs on the go and not one finished. I think I am running out of steam, as my mother use to say to me.
Jan - yes I am feeling perkier. It's like I was saying on another thread. There is so much going on in my life at the moment, friends dying, dil poorly and her mother dying too. I thought to myself I am not going to let it drag me down. So I have dedicated this Easter holiday to my grandchildren. It was fun having them painting along with me. Making Easter cards.
I can just imagine having a motorised shopping trolley. If I mention that to OH, he would have one on there in a flash. He is busy in the workshop working on the cars.
I must go get these jobs done. Michael Buble has just finished.

snowball wrote:Hi Joy i tried a trolley on wheels thought it would be better but all it did was hurt my back shoulders and wrists, you still have to lift them up at some point. Doesn't help that there so big you cram everything into it, my grandma had mine but i haven't seen her using it yet.
Right time for a cup of tea and a bacon butty(good job its not real ).
Julie
I always swore that I wouldn't get one, because of the times I have walked behind another old dear pulling one and holding me up. But it does hurt my back and shoulders pulling things along.
I do have a Budgens store just down the road here, but we have always hated having the store there and the owner. We have fought all his planning issues because this little area where we live is not big enough and the road down to it is always obstructed, being the only access to the estate. If I say any more, I could be called racist, but I think it is the Council who are intimidated by him because he is coloured.
When Jim and I first got married we had our reception in the back garden here. At that time I got on all right with them, so I ordered all my vegetables and salad things from them. Came to well over £50 and half of it was rotten. When I confronted them, that was when things became bad between us. Therefore I tend to boycott it. Shame.

My name is Alex (shortened from Alexandra) I have been and introduced myself and was told the cafe is really good so here I am So a really Good Morning to you all and Happy Easter, and I will pay £5.00 for car clean any time today.
And as for choccy eggs Im sorry but they are so so bad for you (I cant have any so dont see why anyone else should) and I am only thinking of your health of course nothing to do with jealousy I wouldnt do that as a new comer, probably when you get to know me LOL
So can I have a big, huge, massive cup of choccy and large choccy cake mmmmmmm
Hello Alex
Lovely to have someone pop in and see what we get up to.
I am going to give the choccy eggs a miss this year, so you have convinced me. Still, we have a saying in here that everything in here is callory free and you can eat and drink as much as you like.
have a nice easter.

Hi Jan, Joy, and welcome Alex!
A builders would go down well just at the moment, we've had such a good day here and I just had a snooze or three.
Off out again later to a nibbles and drinks party, but I know I won't be staying long as it gets very hot and noisy there.
........and it's been dry all day!

Evening annie, joy, trish, val, delboy, alex, julie et al.........apologies if I missed anyone.
Once more, Bubbles pops in late to the cafe, nice to see the lights are still on. I think I will have a cup of T and a 1/4 of a rich T biscuit... Went to see the folks and Mother had cooked the contents of a supermarket, nearly had to be wheeled out of the kitchen. I would like some chocolate cake, but I fear there could be an explosion if I tried.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
pixyandfaries wrote:move that cake away from bubbles!!!!
Definately, just nibbling on the rich T......to top it all, we took a huge sticky toffee pudding ............anyway, let's not talk about it any more.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
did someone mention chocolate cake
HI Alex - & welcome to the mad world of the Cafe
hope you have all had a good day - and that you have a lovely and enjoyable easter.
We have had a couple of busy days so had a fairly chilled day today. I did manage to do the shopping though, and Ange you are so right ... why does everyone need to shop for a seige?!
Littlelegs is disappointed that we didn't get her a chocolate egg, though when we reminded her of what happened the last time she ate chocolate (a whole day at the vets and lots of needles  not to mention the bill  ) she realised we were being cruel to be kind!
have topped up the energy supplies and the hugs ..... hope everyone sleeps well
hugs

Thanks Wonky, we did venture into town, after our HUGE lunch, but it was unbearable with people fighting to get into shops, fighting to park, I only lasted a few minutes and I was done in - Is it one day they shops are shut, or two months?
Cats howling for more food, will potter and feed him.........He knows I made it to M & S for some chicken.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

they can always tell when special food is on the menu can't they!!! littlelegs has been round my feet all afternoon because she could tell I was cooking ham hocks and she hoped I'd drop a bit as I got all the meat off!
round us it isn't even one day that the shop shuts - it is one of the supermarket 'local' shops, and is open all day tomorrow 7am - 11pm!   it will be bedlam trying to get anywhere cos they will all park up the road and block all the exits. Can't manage one day without these days, but when we were kids the shops shut for aweek and we managed ok!0 -

They can indeed, the cats always check the bags when we get home. Ham hocks, sounds nice.
Not venturing out Sunday, maybe Monday or Tuesday. Will take all night and day to digest the Cow that Mother fed us today. They haven't got the hang of online ordering yet, so if it says Silverside, they just click add to basket, not knowing it is enough to feed an army.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

but I bet you enjoyed your lunch plenty fro tomorrow and the next few days
