Hi wonkylegs,,, have you tried inhaling plain menthol (just a little bit) You can get the menthol crystals from the chemist. Works wonders.

Hi all

Just calling in for a night time snack.
Been a bit of a bad day for me, so tired with working all week. I know others don't agree but I am grateful for my extra hour in bed tonight as must drag my weary bones to work tomorrow. Don't forget to change your clocks folks.
Hope you have all had a reasonable day and that those of you who have been stuggling with colds and arther aches are a bit better.

hi folks,

thank whoever it was who suggested the menthol . ... have been inhaling olbas oil and it has done the trick (it seems) as sinuses much lesss trouble today, and I can actually breathe through my nose :shock:

today I look more like this and am hoping to get some

hubby has just changed all the clocks in the house (how do we come to have so many?!) but there is bound to still be one we have missed. There is - on the telephone! and the heating!!!! typical - we always forget at least one!

right, nice cup of horlicks please, and a piece of whatever cake is left - not choosey.

Hi ive always sworn by olbas oil.
when my sinuss are blocked up i put a few drops on my pillowcase,then a few drops on a hanky to sniff at all day & it really helps.
you can also add a few drops to a bowl of hot water,put a towel over your head & breathe it in.plus its a good rub to use on sore,aching muscles.

Hi Val, Your right today it most certainly would. Just spent the morning at a sale and at one point the wind caught the egg poster in the egg box and 5 trays of eggs nearly hit the floor..... Reflexes are still quick enough..... just x

Cris has Muffin been behaving herself?? She's not bit anybody has she? She loves her treats and will do anything to get them. She does'nt mean it, she just loves sugar lumps.

Hi Trish,

Muffin is really good but I have taken her off sugar lumps and give her carrots (the sugar has a bad effect on my lodgers and donkeys as well...... Bit like giving chocolate to certain sheep..... they get a bit stroppy )

Big coffee and some cheese cake and do you want a bit of the cream tea? (Now I might have to go get the ingredients for real Mind I soon get sick of it so.....)

Will have to go and get evening duties started soon.... xx

We have just been out all day in our little car. Open top, very very windy. There was me all wrapped up, too warm hats and a hood over the lot. Sun glasses.. It was lovely and sunny, and there we were watching all the gliders being winched up. They go up to 3000 ft with the winch, so expect they get over the strong wind quickly. So we're back and now fancy a cup of tea and a crumpet. How's that?

Can't believe it will be getting dark in an hour.

Oh Annie's goat...... Sasha has been on a crash course of manners I don't find goats easier but then mine were rescued and come with ready made escape exits built in They were absolute Heller's! :shock:

Hi all, sorry I'm a bit late, been for a walk in the last of the light, glorious day out there although windy, very mild now for the end of October. Oh, a lovely walk today.
I HATE it when the clocks go back and it gets dark so early.

Cris, Trisher, hope I'm not too late to help with the beasties, if Sasha doesn't behave herself, no treats! (I think I've been lucky with the goats I've known - except for one old billy, but that's another story - and no, Rehab, I'm not referring to you!). Mmmmm, not sure about that last bit :!:

When we've finished, I'm going to have scrambled eggs with bacon pieces and chopped onion and buttered toast and a very large builders with a lot of sugar!

Hope you've all had a better weekend, here's to an even better week ahead......

I agree to a better week ahead.

Now after all these warnings about Swine Flu. What do you think of this. 3 people came in, waiting to get a ticket to be seen down not too near me and then went to the nurse where you are accessed as to where you go Major or Minor.

When they got in they were promptly given masks to put on. They took their temps ect. and waited. All the staff dealing them with put masks on.

They were then lead to isolation ward. 2 came out to their partners who were sitting amongst the people. One I heard her say she had been given Tammie flu to take so they had it.

How stupid can you get with our reduced immune systems what chance would you have?

I have never been so glad to have my wheelchair. If I had not been in so much pain I would have had a go at them.

trisher that bad they should have been no where near u our docs have big sign saying if u think u have swine flu stay away and phone this no. even at a hospital they should be seperate or it will spread like wild fire. had enough with this cold do not want that as well
