Isn't that the ESA one, the incapacity benefit one. They have already told me I have scored way over the odds on all counts and am unemployable. I think the medicals are done by ATOS, who are paid by the DWP to vet people who claim benefits. I have had them come to the house, just as you have.

I am sure they will, it has been a long and protracted battle for me to get the increase, taken a year, to actually get them to realise that I am ill and need increasing levels of care. I am sure they can move the goalposts as and when they like. We will be on our guard and ready for another battle if required.

I was just reading about the new medical assessment due in 2013, for those of us on DLA, suppose I should not worry at the moment, having just had my award increased until 2012. Wonder if we, who suffer with OA RA and its many associated conditions, are going to be the ones who are made to go through hoops yet again.

Oh Bubbles, shut up and stop worrying, it is way in the distance.

Can you see me getting told I can work?

one question from me would be will my new work place let me use their electricity for my oygen? By the it costs such an amount to use That would be we will stop it out of your salary.

I know Trish, some days i sleep in til 1pm others i cant sleep for weeks, I said to my OH early ''how the hell can i work'' he looked at me with tears in his eyes & said never debs.
he knows how bad things are for me & he has mental health probs that we havent claimed for.
I didnt like the way osbourne says ''when you go to work & see your neighbours blinds still shut'' i used to go out quietly at 5am & all my neighbours curtains were probrbly shut at that time but i wasnt looking & didnt watch to see if they went out to work or not.
    Dont worry just yet.
Im off to bed, got to be up early.

I know Trish, it is beyond a joke. Admittedly there are a lot, many thousands, that are getting everything on a plate and are more than capable of working. When the council tax benefit man came to check up on us "at random" the letter said. He was fine, he was telling us about those that con the system and learn what do to from internet sites, to fake their claims and fake their disabilities. I was so aghast, but he said, oh they do it all the time, right down to using sandpaper on the ferrules on the end of their sticks, to make it look like they are worn from use.

That is where the system needs reviewing, not to make those of us who are genuinely ill, with multiple health issues go through the mill.

But what we are forgetting is all these peeps who have been claiming benefits
when they should not have been doing it.

Well if the ones that have nothing wrong with them at all, well they will not be there and others will not be allowed to get there.

It is the #Goverments fault in the first place.

My GP was over the moon when I told him I had won my appeal, he said " I think that the DLA push people to the limit" like they have done with me.
He made quite a point in his letters about mental health issues, ie protracted anxiety and depression, that is both potentially dangerous and needs supervision when it is bad.

He is also getting the OT to visit me, as I have trouble getting off the loo and need a frame round it, to give me something to grip onto when I get up. He said, no problems I will sort it, also some blocks for my chair to raise it up a few inches. I can apply for a grant from the carers trust fund, will ask if they will help with a chair that lifts me up, that would be so good.

For sure, it has been a free ride all the way. I agree that they need to tighten the system up, but don't punish those who are already proven to be ill and will not return to work and need increasing amounts of care. I will be onto my MP as quick as a flash about this and see what he has to say.

'Why did you think you have had the fight you have had? Because of them being scared to let people claim so I suppose.

It has been caused by too many claiming but not needing it. Then when they have got it they say it was not that hard.

I suppose that is how it gets out of hand.

I think you will be alright. They will keep all those letters from your consultants you will be fine.
You may just have to see someone to make sure you are ok and I think I will as well just to make sure we are alive.

I have seen more than a few people who have been claiming their parents allwance.
I think that will always be in place now.

Well I have not got anything to hide so I don't mind seeing them.

They don't know yet that I have OA RA alsoPsA to add to the list.

Just going to have a cuppa and go to bed folks, I am shattered and we are off again to hossy tomorrow, plus get shopping for Mother beforehand. Can tell I will be poorly soon, I just feel it gathering pace. Need a day off.

Hi Trish, I have probably missed you by now. I've not been too bad this week thanks, the steroid jab in my left knee last week has now kicked in and things are much easier with it, but my right knee has started now and all the other niggling aches, pain and stiffness, but not nearly as bad as last week thank goodness. Hopefully I'll get my xray results today (knees, hands and wrists) and with high rheumatoid factor last week, hopefully GP will know what he is going to do next.

How have you been today, I hope uou are feeling a bit better. When o you go back to see the liver doctor, I know its not really long but it feels like you have been waiting ages for your results. Keep your chin up, sweet dreams, Brenda xxx Here are some gentle healing hugs for you xxx g10114.gif

Hi Trish, so sorry to hear you are having another bad night, wish I could do something to help you. Will send you gentle healing hugs and hope they at least help a little bit ((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))). I bet you will be glad to get back on your usual meds, which might at least help a little bit.

I'm quite restless tonight, have woken with niggles rather than bad pain like last week, Ithink the paracetamol have worn off, so should take some more really.

Have to be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning, cos going to speak to a group of social workers about my job and about recent changes which will affect them. So really need to be alert, not much chance of that now I'm afraid.

Well Trish, hope you manage to get some sleep t2252.gif xx Love Brenda xx I was just wondering Trish, have you ever met any of your friends from AC??
