Hi there Jan.
I have noticed that we do not seem to have had much rain back here.
Was there a thunderstorm because a couple of my new palm trees had blown down.
I lost, I think, the two brand new rose bushes my step son and dil gave me early for my birthday, not for a few more days yet. I was worried when they gave them to me because I wouldn't be home to water them. You can't trust neighbours to do them. We lost some of our tropical fish also, despite a neighbour promising to come an look after them for us.
I think we are going to have some rain today, according to the forecast. The hot humidity makes you feel exhausted too doesn't it.
Changing the subject, can anyone explain to me what is involved with a pre-med these days. Wondered hosw long it takes. My daughter in law is having a leg operation on the 10th August. and she has to be at the hospital at 7 15 a.m on the 27th July for a pre-med. I am having the boys overnight and was wondering how she would be after the pre-med
Can anyone answer this?
Love to all

Hi Jan
Hope you get some rain
Hi Joy
Think she will have BP taken and maybe bloods to check no infection and blood count etc. Whhat med is she on? So take a list.Likely to Weight and general history to check she is well enough and what kind of risk she is (eg is she a smoker?) some places show you the ward too - if they are up on that sort of thing. She can ask questions - like how long she will be in and do they expect her to get dresssed in the daytime etc.
Hope you get rain too and i am so so sory about your roses and the poor fish
Love

Afternoon everyone.
need a cuppa fast.
My good intentions to get the ironing and get the bedroom ready for the boys went AWOL at about 12 today with little being done.
OH got back from Podiatrist, we had lunch. I went to sleep. Just woke up in time to go to the Chiro. The way my hips and legs feel, the sooner I see her the better.
The pre-op thing is what I thought. I was thinking back to when I had my Hystorectomy done in 1996 and I seem to remember going along to fill forms, blood tests, in case they needed to keep some ready if I needed it, weight etc. So it wasn't too long.
I think she is only going in as a day patient, don't know at this stage what she is having done, so don't think it is major. Just hope I can gather some strength before next Monday when we have 3 very boistrous boys, not as well behaved as my daughter's children.
Help.

When I was having my op I had to go for the same thing, everybody does these days. It is also to stop anyone who might have a bug taking it into the hospital.
They will take a swab from her, the nose, throat and groin is the usual place. They check for the MRSA bug.
It is that bug that gets into wounds so you are not taking it into hospital, everyone has to have it if they are having surgery.
They also do the tests to make sure you are fit enough for surgery. It is nothing to worry about Joy.
They ask questions as Toni has said.
I also saw the surgeon and he told me what they would be doing. I also saw the docteor who anesthetist.
It akes sometimes it takes about an hour to two hours depending if you have to wait or not.0 -
Evening All
Not read back yet as I'm late in. Will have a large cold glass of Pineapple juice with crushed ice.
Anyone else want a drink???

Hi Toni
How are you?
I went to read back and there was not much to read. We were up in the night three of us.
Very quiet on here isn't it? Wonder if Val has enjoyed her day out to the coast, I hope she has.
It is still hot here and sunny, but not had any rain at all. We are using the bath water to use on the flowers. They seem to like it they are growing well.
Trish xx0 -
Hi trisher
I am fine
poor Cris has all the rain
I used my washing up water all the time when we has no rain - they will be fine way better than no water.
Hoping you are well??
Love

Oh Trish, poor girl, you are down..........I will be there tomorrow, will be in your bag.......please don't start chatting to us on the way there as hubby will think you've finally lost it! Hope to the heavens that they give you some help.
Does the amytrip make everyone feel wiped out, or was it just an off day for me? I'd rather not feel like that every morning.
Will have a refill in the bucket and consider things in depth.
