mummyb wrote:She gave me some anti inflamms that say you shouldn't tkae them if on methotrexate!! fat lot of use they are then.
That isn't necessarily the case .... you may in fact be ok to take them .... but it would be best to check with the pharmacy and/or your GP just in case.
It is a strange thing that loads of us take both Ibuprofen and MTX even though they are meant not to be taken together, and I know that every time they do a prescription for my Ibuprofen the computer lights up like blackpool illuminations with warnings  but my GP usually just cancels them and says 'I know, I know but you're only a machine and I KNOW what I'm doing!'
I was once refused a prescription being dispensed by a pharmacist who did not know me, as he was adamant that they couldnt' be taken together, but I tend to stick to the same pharmacy now, and that hasn't happened again.
hope that they are ok to be taken together (and after all we have more blood tests than the average sick person don't we ) so they will pick up quickly on any problems
hope things improve for you soon

I'd still ask ........ but presume that your GP is well aware of the MTX you take and should have it on their system like mine is (even though they don't prescribe mine as it comes from the hospitla)
I did take Cox-2 inhibitors for a while but the one I took disagreed with me  so I reverted to the Ibuprofen (sorry I just assumed it was that  ) and I can't remember if I was on MTX at the time - sorry0 -
Its ok you weren't to know Wonky chuck, I saw a different doc than the one I usually see, she wasn't much help on this occasion, seeing my usual one next week so will ask him then. Only been on the mtx for 3 weeks so it might be too early for it to interfere anyway. She just seemed puzzled and asked if I could lose some weight (I'm a lot overweight) told her I've lost 2st 3lb over last 10 weeks with sli***ng w**ld.
Anyway eough of me moaning, thanks for being there as you always are. hugs and kisses, Brenda xx0 -

Debs ...... that reminds me, I must look out my mechanics hat too and take my trolley wheels off and vaseline them The firm tried to sell me some expensive oil to get rid of a squeaky wheel, but the mobility place I got it from said they swore by vaseline and wouldn't use anything else

Evening, well, morning now, to everyone, hugs and lots of TLC to those who are suffering and in pain at the moment.
So late tonight, don't know why, apart from I cannot settle to save my life.
Finally got a result from the Drs, Pompholyx Eczema, That's what I thought, I had to ask him three times to remind me what it was called. I had never heard of it, but as soon as he saw my hands and foot (which he said, that looks very sore), he said, it's pompholyx. At least I know.
Steroid cream, once daily, ie at night, seeing as I am forever in the kitchen sink, have had my foot done, only 9 blisters on it at the moment, so it is a tad painful when walking, as if it wasn't bad enough
Increased the pregablin and amitryp while I was there as well. I will be on another planet, well, one that is even further away than the one I am on at the moment.
Anyway, how is everyone, I see knees are hurting and bones and joints a crunching.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hi Bubbles, well that solved that mystery, glad you found out what it is and you now have some treatment for it. I can't seem to settle either and have to be up for work in the morning, not gonna be much good with no sleep!!0

Oh dear, right, I will hop over and put it on, but I have to move, as I am like an ill sitting hen at the moment, feel really odd and unsettled. Going to stand by back door, get some air, take my night meds and then try and rest. Take lots of care, see you tomorrow. Love XXXX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Bubbles
Goodnight I will see you tomorrow. Hey you should have taken Tesco's buggie home and used it until you feet were better.
I'm sure they would not have mind a medial emergency.
