    Wonky

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that Wonky. Please get a wheelchair for your holiday make sure you will get one before you go. Then you have the best of both worlds, you can walk then sit as you need to.

Hi Wonky, Ive got to hire either a wheelchair or mobility scooter when we go to blackpool for the day in sept or i will just ruin the day for everyone. When my back starts hurting through walking it makes me feel sick & i cant carry on walking.Knes give in too
Im not sure whether i can get one this end or hire there.

See if you can get a scooter it will show you what it is like. You both should be getting Mobility money. You could get a scooter of your own.

Remember to make sure you both put a deposit down on one a lot of people hire them in the summer.

Hi trish, Im not sure i would use one enough to justify buying a scooter.
we dont live close to shops so we use the car mostly. OHs fit enough to push me & i was pretty quick years back when i self propelled. Shoulders, neck & back would protest along with hands now, so if i went down that route i think it would be electric chair or scooter.
Oh even more joy

HI Trisher .... one coffee for you :D

I'm afraid that I don't qualify at all for mobility or even a blue badge, so that is a non-starter. Although I am struggling right now, next week I might be able to walk miles, it is sooooooooooo frustrating!

this morning I drove to a garage supermarket to get some shopping. THey only ahve 3 parking places and they are for blue badge holders and parents with children. so I parked on the road, not that far away.

there I was limping round with my stick, when a woman bounded in, having parked in one of the blue badge bays .... now I know not everyone looks like they need these spaces but honestly, she bounded in, bought some **** then bounded out again, straight into her car and she was off. I was sitting on the boot of our car getting my breath back and struggling trying to get the top off the bottle of water I had bought to take my pills with! Wish I had the same nerve she had

Debs - I hope you find a chair ok ..... was looking at a site about nation-wide hire of wheelchairs, but minimum is for two weeks with them  will keep looking and let you know if I see anything that might help you.

    hugs
    WOnky

    Wonky

If I were you I would apply for a Blue Badge they contact your doctor and if our doctor knows you do have trouble you might get one You don't know til you try.

Just apply and see what happens.

It makes me mad when people don't get badges yet others get them.

Debs you to try for it.

    Wonky

Yorkshire that a long way isn't it?

That's a shame I could have lent you mine. I have a brand new one I only used a couple of times and it was not balanced right for a double abouve knee amputee.
    You could have had that.

Thanks Wonky, I looked up the shop mobility & im sure i found somewhere in blackpool that does them. I can also hire at the pleasure beach but i would ring first to book one as i dont want to chance not getting one.
Some want a deposit & one i looked at was £5 for the day, not bad realy.

    Trish, Im in leicestershire luv.
