Hello Speedalong. It's late Sunday afternoon and I'm wondering how the stairs went. I remembet the mantra 'good leg to heaven, bad leg to hell' as a guide to the leading leg. I hope it all went well. I have run out of M&Ms and I'm too lazy to drive to the garage to get any. Humph. DD

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

There is nothing like a good poo to sort things out. Ask them to give you something - Movicol or Docusate or just good old syrup of figs (my favourite!). It's the combination of anaesthetic, hospital food, limited mobility and lots of sitting I guess! Up the fluids too, helps to 'oil' the process. Good luck old girl! (That's what The Husband says to me after a few bunged-up days.)

Hope you are feeling ok today. DD

    Hi Speedy,

I really hope you have noticed an improvement in the hip pain. Of Cause you have the sore scare and aches from the op but nothing is as bad as that knife digging into your hip every time you move a centimetre.

I totally forgot! I have nearly gone thro a whole day and not messaged you. I AM SO SORRY. In my defence it was meth jab day (not much of a defence, no side effects to complain about!), I had to drive to Bury St Edmunds today to retrieve a jacket (didn't take long), I stopped off in Asda where something very weird happened(may or may not post it) and I've been dealing with a grumpy Husband who is under enormous pressure at work (BUT HIS JOINTS DON'T HURT ALL THE BLOODY TIME - WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?). Calm. Calm. Calm.

I am so sorry Speedalong. I totally forgot. Abject apologies. DD

PS I hope you are feeling better. Sorry.

    Hi Speedy,

So pleased to know that you are doing really well. :D

Eat three conference pears, that should do the trick! Worked for me in hospital. :D Nurse told me to try that. :)
