Hi all 👋 eck what a day, quiet morning.. until they started digging up the road outside, and quiet all day next door so a day wasted - cold as cold and drizzling on & off - my mini grocery shop was at the very end of the time slot too. So disappointing when you see them 2 stops away up your street on the map then next time you look they've gone all through town and out the other side away from you 😣. Still all small beer in the scheme of things I suppose (I would have a small beer if not 'TT', I can tell you 😉).

Yes that's the exact thing frog I felt Sleek would be working on, how brilliant 😄 could she possibly get to the bottom of how there can be no car outside at all but 2 people inside at least, does the car go off by itself like KITT? I relied totally on being able to at least gauge ins/outs by vehicles, I'm sure in 99% of cases that would be reliable but I get the anomaly. Ever thus 🙄. Poor you 2 bath towels a day for the pipe 😱 no that's far beyond putting-up-with level. Why hasn't the isolator helped more I wonder, must be different to mine or maybe at a different point along the pathway so to speak - mine does work but would have to turn it off all the time between flushes which is asking for trouble probably. I do hope all has gone well maybe someone said they could come out promptly, and actually did, I have had fingers crossed. This cold weather you will be glad of an ensuite even more. Really is quite nasty. Sleek and I have have been in full blankie mode (I thought she would like to stay out of any plumbers' way) with the occasional kettle foray, plenty of doughnuts etc now. Squirty cream (in moderation) - noted 👍️. Sorry it was her kitty-cat ears that made you fall foul of the approved queue, that's what did it for me last time, you'd think the filter could be tweaked for bona fide cat references - and yes they are lovely from that view 😊. Oh good news, I won £4.40 on the €millions 😂 what to do with it, that is the question, 'reinvest?' I think Ernie bonds can be transferred fairly simply, but yes I do very much suspect what you say is indeed the current setup at HQ personnel-wise 😂 excellent. Hello Joan, oh pink glasses are fine if you choose them, I think it was the fact there was no real choice then. Mine are sort of speckly now but I used to have those quite small wire ones once I still like those too. There are silly price tags on some you can get 😮 and they don't look any different to me. Oh yes provisions for the living room, cup a soup very good 👍️ those porridge pots you just add water to are handy too well for me as I can make with just the kettle upstairs if I want (& as I don't own a microwave anyway) even if it's not economical compared to a big pack. Anything hot is good really if this weather is keeping up. Only one thing was missing from my shop, and they substituted a bigger pack of bananas, that was all. The van had to pull up not right outside because of roadworks, glad they could get here at all! Have a good night keep warm :) xx

Hi bosh, kettle still doing good works for me today, it will want overtime soon I fear 😬 ..'stat', I haven't used or thought of that expression for a long long time! Good one though. I do use instanter occasionally but I couldn't say why really 🤨 . Hope your mum has been ok today in herself and bs wise, strop notwithstanding, and EF are getting on ok too. Nothing much happening here, did you see my lottery win as I mentioned earlier in post, I must think very carefully what to do with it, nothing too rash 😂. Have a good evening and hope your poetry goes better than what I was trying to do with my laptop earlier, made a very beginner mistake and downloaded something for the wrong system (32bit not 64), tsk. Then spent far too long realizing it too. Off to bed early I think, have a good night yourself :) xx

Sorry to hear your Mum was techy yesterday i hope she's in a better mood today. Must be tough being married to a black bear I really do sympathise. Especially if he started out more like a Koala.

I bet LA enjoyed the day off school. Schools do that even when children are better they say 48 hours after the last time they have the two-bob-bits or are sick. Annoying when they are fine, but at least in theory it keeps the germ transmission rate down I suppose. Awww well I expect that gave him time to edit his Christmas list for Santa (AKA Mummy and Daddy).

The tea pot is full, never fear, if supplies are ever ever needed stat. I hope BB did not totally ruin your sleep yesterday. I wonder why your Mum keeps checking whether you've taken your meds? If you are anything like me you have a routine.

Only two people next door? Sleek surmises that they were left behind by one of the car drivers and is checking out which one. She also has plans (I am not sure this is actually legal?) to install audio bugs in the house as soon as the opportunity arrives. Such as a conveniently open window.

Glad you approve of my mental picture of Ernie HQ!!! You won on the euromillions? Er ok I would reinvest you will have lost absolutely nothing. Possibly just enough for a cup of coffee as costa packet maybe not….

Well the loo is fixed and the plumber was lovely just lovely arrived within the hour. He went down in the basement and found another far more significant leak and fixed that too. £170 in total. Very happy I am as is the washing machine not having to dry all those towels! I can resume staying asleep whilst using the loo in the night. Oh. So you can't do your turning on and off trick indefinitely? That is annoying. Shame you aren't just a tiny bit nearer I would recommend him.

Well I'd better get me some clothes on it will be far warmer if I do! Keep warm Sleek is in her onesie ready with her duvet coat like Bosh's over the top so super snug. ((())) xxx

LA caught a tummy bug

When he was learning he made sure to revise the verbs which were reflexive
Over his French dictionary he was somewhat protective
But after lunch he consumed a secret digestive
His mummy however saw him with his hand in the biscuit tin
He said, “Mummy look, it’s not daddy’s hot sauce sandwich, it’s not that big a sin!”
Tummy bugs are boring dear mother of mine
I’m so hungry I could a bottle of that lotion known as calamine
I can’t survive on jelly and plates of dry toast
I’m not Toni and mima’s mxt diet - I want Yorkshire puddings and where’s my roast?

Hi all, well this is a bit of a facer & no mistake even though they said it was coming 😬❄️

Yes snow here that's for sure frog - I have a jumper over the washing line with about an inch of snow one it, it looks about as happy as I did when I looked out this morning 😣. Ugh. Ok otherwise, quiet here for once no noise on any front not even gasmen, and I can't imagine this was enough to stop them, so seemed very odd for once almost eerily quiet 🤔. Very grateful though, I did not have a good night and have made up for it a bit today, definitely batten down the hatches, tea and reserve flasks of tea and so on. V glad to hear your plumber was lovely, gosh another leak as well 😱, good job he could sort that in one go! Good price. Nick of time for the en suite if it's going to carry on like this 👍️. Thank you I'm sure my plumber will be fine when I get to it, it's the actually having it done I'm backing off from as you know, however lovely someone might be. The isolator is not actually that much of a nuisance the drip being so minor - I can opt to turn it off if I want but doesn't seem worth overusing the valve. At least he can work without the mains off. Will see what the weather does and try & get fixed up. Btw didn't really expect Sleek in this so that was a nice surprise 😀 (she suits her duvet coat doesn't she, lucky thing #jealous) - today's addition to the board was a car of yet another colour I've never seen before, she will need an overflow pinboard at this rate 😄. Well the lottery ticket has gone on so wish me luck for tonight and maybe next door won't be my concern 🤞. Take care if the same weather again, I haven't looked - love to all and hope family visitors can come to you tomorrow as planned :) xx

Sorry Toni I’m struggling to write a proper post today

It’s just been one of those days mum and dad seem on edge about something or other

Sometimes I get up at 6.20 am and spend 3 hours in the house making sure mum is ok and struggling with the heating before I can go on a walk

Whole situation is frustrating

I wrote a poem for myself about peri menopause

It made me laugh at least

Some women on the fb support group are going through similar things

Which is kind of reassuring

But I don’t read too many of those fb posts as there are a lot of horror stories and a lot of women talking all sorts of very “dodgy” types of unprescribed meds in pure desperation

Anyway as you said, nothing lasts forever and in a manner of speaking it’s best to wait it out

Loved the LA poem😊 about his tummy bug poor little lad. Did he really help himself to a biscuit when he was supposed to not be eating? Hopefully it didn't cause more stomach issues for him and he's all better now and back at school. Did anyone else in the family catch it? If not maybe you can visit EF this weekend.

The baby is coming to see me this afternoon and Lucy is off work so coming over too. I am very lucky that they are only maybe 3 miles from here in the same town.

We did have more snow overnight (glad yours didn't stick BTW), but not too much luckily so all should be safe to drive later on. I hope so as it's the foodbank for me today. For you is it's group. You probably could do with a break from the house so I hope you can get there safely.

There are indeed plenty of women going through PM but you are wise to ignore some of the iffier alternative treatments people insist 'cured' their symptoms. Personally I just try sticking things out. If they get to bad or really affect your MH you can take proper medical advice. Not FB quacks as my Dad would have called them.

Morning Toady it's cold! really cold! Myself and Sleek are not happy about it at all. She is happy to use her own en suite facilities for number 1's less so number 2's she wants outside for that.

Did you rescue your jumper? Poor jumper it must be utterly miserable out there. Extra food for the birds going out soon. A little more snow overnight but it seems pretty icy hope it's ok for my walk with Kari and then the foodbank. I presume similar for you? Look what I bought for Sleek as an early Christmas present it was half price

So far she hates it🤣 It's so tall though for bird watching *ahem*. She noted the new car and has bought herself some sort of 'spy camera) now from catazon.

I think, yes you don't want to overuse that isolator. I think I must have done for mine to keep on leaking in the end. The other leak the plumber found was not for the loo it was our cold water pipes in the basement. So lucky really. You yourself do not need your plumber ASAP I think a bit like my friend and her washing machine if you can keep going a bit longer….saves money and intrusion.

Kari is coping ok no roofers yesterday obviously due to snow on the roof so she enjoyed a cosy day off with Mabel.

Good luck with your lottery ticket. I only ever bought a scratch card once you know and it won £12 when I was just so so broke 2 kids and on my own. I didn't reinvest. When is the draw? Was it last night? Don't move will you without telling Sleekipaws where you are going.

She wanted me to let you know that she is ok and not to worry.

The dogs are being looked after by the neighbours everything is in hand.

Yes please if you can frog, a cafe card would be nice 💟, I was wondering about it, she'd like that thank you (& if in doubt send one via the online types of people no icy postboxes!!). What a year indeed for her, and right when the kitchen cupboard refit things were due, not that that is a big thing but still, having waited for them 😔.

Hope all's well with you, I haven't set foot outside except to de-ice the bird water & food etc. At least there was some sun but it is truly cold I hope it did 'give' a bit for your walk etc. Foodbank will be busy I'm sure very appreciated especially this time of year. (The jumper is still there poor thing will rescue it at some point, but it will be so wet & heavy it won't be much better off indoors!). Well I love Sleek's present but I'm sorry it's a case of 'Mummy did you keep the receipt?' so far 😉, maybe she will warm to it when it's less new & unfamiliar. Glad Kari has had a mini let-off from the roofers, hope it was going well as far as they have got - I must remember to PM you (if that's ok) to ask one or two little things never having had scaffolding up, in case there are things I should know. Hope family gathering worked out and take care yourself, & everyone, in this cold, will pop in & out as usual 😘 xx

I felt in a high mood yesterday with the pm symptoms

But today I cried a lot but the mood went down, became normal

I was starting to think that would never happen

I guess it’s a learning curve

You’re absolutely right about Fb quacks

I’m monitoring myself

So I know it’s not mental health issues

As I have neither insomnia nor boundless energy as those are big warning signs for me

But the main thing is that the mood went down

I missed group as I got to town late due to weather but mainly did a bit of minor shopping which was nice

Bit of gastric issues, but I was due some, I looked at the rota lol

Blood test tomorrow at hospital around lunchtime but just rheumo

Mother Nature - this weather did the phantom plumbers get drunk on lime cordial and sabotage the universal thermostat again?

Just LA got the tummy bug, no one else luckily

What can we do to help? Are you feeling queasy? If so I suggest you do the following

a) take MTX before bed on a day when you don't need to get up early in the morning

b) make sure you are prescribed folic acid for every day except MTX day

c) rest on the day post MTX and eat whatever helps you, some like chocolate some of us like carbs - serious carbs (that'l be be used to be cheese and onion pasries before I went vegan) one lady here swore by fish and chips. Think of your (back in the day) post hangover cures! Apart from hare of the dog of course 😉

Did you read my post yesterday about Joan (Dachshund)? I will add your name to the card shall I? Joan will be thrilled that you have popped in. Read back you'll see just how much you have been missed here. Especially when we changed a page….

Morning Toady Look!!!! Skinny is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Made my mirning after yesterday's new with Joan.

I am going to sort out a card for her today leave it with me I knwo which hospital she's in just need to get her surname and I knwo which ward too so will do one of those online ones they can be very very quick i believe. She hasn't got her iPad with her so I'll send her a text later in the meantime.

Sleek still not touched her new cat tree unless when I am out I've left treats on it so I can check. She is coming over to yours soon in her duvet coat again and with her onesie underneath it's so icy out there.
