Hello all, I'm afraid I've just skimmed the posts, so sorry if any of you are suffering more than usual.
Not much news here really, the light still isn't fixed. I've given up!!
Still got a bunged up nose, coughing too. Good news is that my ears are greatly improved. I will still keep my GP appointment though, she can take a look for me. :?
Bought 2 dark choc oranges from T***o this morning. They're on at £1 each again.
Have a good weekend. xx"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

How sweet it Baby giving you your crutches - she knows you need them! Lucy is getting stronger I think so hopefully my back will get some rest soon :?
We have sunshine here today - hope it stays. I brought the geraniums in pots into the porch last night in-case it froze.
KathT don't worry about skimming I have to too a fair bit. I am glad to hear your ears are on the mend - I agree with keeping the doc's apt she will actually be able to see whether there is inflammation now I think.
Need to get some choc oranges I always pop one in the kids' Christmas stockings
Joan - thank you as ever. I hope Sue is still on the mend and that you all have a good rest of the weekend
Christine - I am glad you had your breakfast in bed yesterday and hope you are doing the same todayDoes your Dad have diabetes? Just wondering with his kidney issues. My MIL has diabetes and she now has dialysis. I have never known her so well
Those Simms can be really naughty - ignoring their babies and setting fires
Some friends of mine are coming over this morning so I am up early to make sure we're clean and tidy
I hope Elizabeth is ok today and anyone else who hasn't been in

Hi Toni, I am okay thank you. My eldest has a cold so maybe I have a proper cold and not just the usual side effect from the meds. But actually I'm sure the acid reflux is making things worse.
Last night the neighbours behind DID have a party even though it was raining. Seems like they were mostly teenagers, so parents were probably away like the last time, so it was very loud and lots of shouting. Dan was upset but we got through it somehow. We had to play musical beds though and move from the back room and into my 'proper room' but you could still hear it. I encouraged him to listen/watch videos of washing machines with his headphones on to distract him.
Yes you do have to get on ,Toni, but you have your own health to worry about too so its nice to delegate if you can but if your anything like me you'd rather do things yourself to make sure they are done correctly.
My eldest boy is also a late night gamer and I think its because of the time difference with many other gamers that encourage him to stay up so late. some games are great for autistic kids and teach them social skills and how to interact.
I'm glad you have almost cleared the house Applerose. Nothing goes to waste nowadays as there are so many in need. I read about people with no curtains, carpets and even heating and white goods nowadays. How sad your Dad has been suffering with his kidneys without anyone being aware. That can't be nice for him.
Joan have you had the carers in yet? Are you managing okay?
Kath sorry you are still unwell. I still have't bought that earstuff for the OH but will try to remember for next week.
Back to downloading photo's from tomorrow when the kids are back at school.
Barbara how lovely to read little GD gives you the crutches!
I'm being kicked off hope I haven't missed anyone! Having cheesy pasta today in order to finish the sauce within its use by date!

Joan, I hope you and Sue have been getting on ok this afternoon.
Kath, sorry you still have that cold. Hope the GP finds your ears have cleared up now. I only bought 1 choc orange. Wish I'd bought more.
Barbara, you mentioned fireworks that just glow colours. Today I saw a petition which is trying to get the bang taken out of fireworks so they don't scare people who have been to war and animals. It is sweet of the baby to give you your crutches. They learn so quickly.
Toni, I didn't have breakfast in bed today. Woke up late and decided to get up and do some jobs round the house. Yes, my dad does have diabetes. Didn't think of that possibly causing kidney problems. I'm bothering less and less with being clean and tidy for visitors. I do it when and if I can.
Elizabeth, you do work so hard to help Dan with his noise issues. Glad you got through the party. When I was first setting up home, we had a lot given by relatives and didn't have much that was new. I think we've just been through a time when the young ones setting up had to have everything brand new but now we are back to them getting second hand again. Hope you manage to get on with your photos tomorrow.
My sister has finally managed to rehouse my dad's cat. She tried all the animal shelters but they are all full (and it's not Xmas yet when many get thrown out of their homes)A friend of hers was looking for a cat and didn't want a kitten. She seems to have settled ok. I decided today to take my exercise equipment upstairs and bring my dining table back down. Only moved the small things. Will have to get my son round to help with the big things. Only started tidying up.
Off to watch the last episode of Downton.

Well this is my second attempt to post iPad froze never done that before so now on laptop.
Off to a rheummy app this afternoon its not till 4 o'clock so calling at chippy on way home put your orders in.
Friday going to see the poppies was exhausting but i wouldn't have missed it,had to get up at 6 o'clock out the house at 7 on the coach at 8 and apart from a comfort break we didn't get off till10 mins passed 1 o'clock going thru london was a nightmare.I didn't get home till 11.45.
Slow cooker packed up so got to buy another ,had the other one for years so it doesn't owe me anything, but i use it a lot thru the winter.
Hope you all have a good day. Mig0 -
Morning all
Very cold here...
How lovely that your sister has found a good home for your dads cat, that must be a weight off your mind.. animals are so adaptable ..saying that how is the doggy settling in...very interesting about the fireworks I didn't think of the poor soldiers
..I can only imagine the effects they have on them.. they were having a display in a garden across the rd last night ..like I said these should be classed has bombs..
not much happening today..not yet anyway...will leave the kettle on for anyone that pops in..xxx hello Mig just spotted you,I saw your pic and its was brilliant..glad you enjoyed it,must have been emotional...good luck at the rheumy I hope it goes well for you and hope you get that slow cooker..mine packed in so I bought a bigger one I was sick of trying to get things in it :roll:Love

Hello Christine mig Barbara
i hope you have all had a good day so far.

Hello all. Coo it's cold today. Not nice, and some silly fool has got chilblains already. Doesn't augur well for the rest of the winter.
Hope everyone is doing ok today. Mig that was a long day, no way I could have done a coach trip like that so well done and can fully see why it was worth it.Hope your appt went well today.
Glad you just about got through the firework party noises TK and there shouldn't be any more now. Hope the coughing is easing up, and hasn't turned into a cold as well. Too many germs around. :?
Poor daisycat frog! Plenty of rain yesterday here too and overnight so hope you had some better spells and not too much of a grumpy daisy. Can quite see how people get immersed in gaming and I would probably too if my head would take it, but too much looking at moving graphics would make me seasick. I did know a few online gamers that lived & breathed their roles & could never decide if it was a bad thing or if it didn't matter as long as they were happy - same as being a sports fanatic etc.
Glad you are coping ok and getting a few jobs done applerose. Hope your Dad has a better day when you see him next. So glad you found a nice home for your Dad's cat! So sad but if she is settling that's good and your Dad won't miss her.. I expect.. oh dear. Hope you're happy with your rearranging and don't want to move it all back again like I probably would.
Glad you could get to the cenotaph and there was a good turnout barbara. People are very good with supporting these things long term, I bought my poppy this year from a lady set up in the supermarket and she has been doing it for years. Very laudable. As well as my xmas cards (I send less & less, and nothing like your doing-all-the-street goes on around here), I bought a bulk lot of stamps from a very good site online including previous year's xmas issues at a discount so I'm pleased. Don't suppose anyone cares and I'd rather not give RM the money.
Hope Kath's GP appointment went ok and also getting rid of the cold.Hope things are going alright for joan and sue too, and also bubbles and anyone missing.. no marrianne for a while now or coco.. love to anyone reading not posting, xx

Hello Barbara, Toady, Joan, Christine, Elizabeth, Toni, mig, sorry if I've missed anyone.
Barbara, talking of memories of mums, it would have been my mum's 84th birthday today. She passed on 3 days after her 80th. Dad will be 84 on 29th Nov. They were 19 days apart, born same month, same year.
Toni, glad to hear that Lucy is getting stronger. Your poor back. I used to have to lift sometimes when working. Usually had a hoist but if it hadn't been charged - 18 year old girls with cerebral palsy - especially if they are hypertonic (rigid and unbendable) can be very difficult to lift.
Elizabeth, I think I have sinus problems. If it's still the same when I see my GP next week I will mention it - as well as ears. But there is definitely some improvement there.
Christine, I wish I'd bought more choc oranges too. I'm trying to resist the two I did get. I definitely prefer dark choc to milk.
Mig, hope your rheumy appointment went well. I see the nurse specialist now, Sue Shipman. Although last time I went Dr P wasn't there, so she had to ask Dr G for advice about me.
Joan, I hope you had a good weekend.
Toady, GP app isn't until 18th, but I have a blood test this Wednesday. Have to have one every two weeks at the moment, LFT is rather high. :x
OH has two bad cuts above his left eye, and all around his eye socket is slowly turning black. He fell out of bed this morning and bashed himself on the edge of the bedside cabinet - no, I didn't push him. Honest. Good job he didn't catch the eye itself."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Mig, your trip to the poppies does sound tiring but glad you thought it was worth it. I use my slow cooker a lot in the winter too. So easy when coming in from work.
Barbara, Mango has settled in well. He stayed with me for most of a year when my daughter travelled round the world and has always come with them when they visited so he knows me and the house. My daughter bought some new balls for him to play with and he keeps dropping them so they roll under the sofa. Grrrr!I hadn't thought of the effects of fireworks on soldiers either. Must be awful for some of them.
Hello Joan. Hope you and Sue are ok today.
Toady, chilblains? Oh no. I've never had them but I believe they are very painful. I know I'm most likely to use the exercise equipment if it is downstairs but I want y dining room back for now. Will probably want to rearrange again soon.I send less Xmas cards than I used to. I used to give all the neighbours one but only a few now. I tend to hand out to family and close friends then wait till I receive cards from anyone else before they get one. It's too expensive to give everyone one now. I wondered what happens to stamps that are not bought. Good idea to sell them cheaper.
Kath, doesn't matter how long ago it was, we always think of loved ones no longer with us on special days. Hope you are ok. I always worry about chocs I buy for Xmas in case I eat it all. I did buy some packs of the mini chocs for Halloween and have had a couple of the ones which were left but been quite good really and left the rest. Oh ouch, your poor OH. Hope it doesn't get too black. Hope the cuts heal quickly.
My daughter is now in Singapore, 8 hours ahead of us. Poor babies didn't know when they were supposed to sleep. The 2 year old screamed for most of the 7 hour flight and then both of them wouldn't walk when they got off the plane so mum and dad had to carry them and the luggage. They all got to bed at 7pm out time which is 1am Singapore time. :shock:Christine0 -
Forgot to mention. I came out of work at about 5pm to find the police helicopter hovering straight overhead. I walked to the High Street where there was a police van outside one of the jewellery shops while their alarm was going off. Another van came flying down the street with the sirens going. There were police all over inside and outside of the shop. The helicopter then went off looking for a car and I heard police sirens a little way off. Everyone was out on the street watching. When I got home, I found out that there had been an armed robbery and they got away with hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery. :shock:Christine0

Morning all
Toady I was dreading the cold..and now its here  hope your little heater is working ok, we have one in the bedroom I sleep in and it turns itself off think there is oil in it so it keep the heat for longer
Hope Joan and Sue are getting on ok and have the help they need
Christine I love the name Mango...glad he is happy with you if he is an he... :? its good to be able to Skype your daughter and family ,not the same but can you imagine when we did have it, no wounder they are all shattered
Oh a raid ..hope they catch them ..it seems to be we will have what you have  I hope no one was hurt...
Kath it good to remember your mums birthday..how odd they were born so close to one another it had to beI lost both my mum and dad in there 60s..I do hope hubby will be ok...he was lucky...
Today we are off out not far has most of these joints a painful ..not a clue why but I am going to keep a diary,,thought these hips and back were painful till my shoulder joined in  but onwards and upwards..
I hope you can all keep warm,,these blinking saying drive me mad sometimes...xxxxx

Hello Toady Kathleen Christine Barbara
i hope you are all having a good day with not too many problems.
sue has her last injection tonight.

Barbara, I keep forgetting to switch the heating off an hour before I go to bed as it gets way too hot for me during the night. Yes, Mango is a he. He was named after a woman's clothes shop in Spain (although I think it's in the UK too).
I remember when my parents lived 200 miles away, I used to go once a week to the corner phone box to phone them. They have found the car used in the robbery abandoned about half a mile away. They knew exactly what they wanted as they went straight to the cabinets where all the most expensive watches and diamonds were kept and smashed them all. There were 4 of them and they carried an axe and a gun. Fortunately, no-one was hurt but the staff were badly shaken. I keep starting diaries but never keep it up for more than a few weeks. Sorry to hear your shoulder has joined in now.
Joan, bet Sue is glad that's her last injection.
Latest from my sisters. One sister's partner was telling me and my brother that they were selling dad's furniture and putting the money in a pot for him. She also said that she thought they might find dad's missing money hidden in the settee when my brother had turned it upside down to dismantle it (it's a metal frame with 2 recliners). I said yes it's strange how all that money just disappeared and left it at that. Next thing, both sisters are sending me messages saying she had told them I had been asking her where the money was and that they didn't like being accused of stealing it. I am suspicious that they may have taken it but I have no proof so have never asked anyone where it is or accused anyone.
My daughter has arrived in Singapore and they are now 8 hours ahead of us. I think their body clocks must be changing as she said they were off to bed just before I got home from work. My son has just told me his new job is going very well. The opening of the oil and gas academy he has set up is to be advertised on tv tomorrow. He's not on though, only the college.Christine0 -
Evenind all, just popping in before bedtime
Joan I bet you are glad that is the last of the injections you have to give Sue, how long will she be in plaster, I hope things will get easier for you both very soon
Christine, so he is named after a shop ..I love it..these people that robbed the shop would have been in before hand at some point..the poor staff can you imagine how scared they are now..there is one jewellers near us and you have to ring a bell to get in, what is this country coming to
your family troubles sounds very similar to mine many years ago when dad died, my eldest brother was drinking heavy and a lot of dads money went...when I say a lot he had around 4 thousand...and it went down to one..I made up with my brother a few years after, and I became his carer ..strange how things go, I do hope you can sort it ..like you say they sound a bit guilty.. so glad your son likes his job..its a shme he wont be on TV
we had a liitle wounder around today, I see it has exercise..then we called in a cafe..
will see you all tomorow hope you sleep well xxxxxxLove

Hello all, hope everyone feels reasonably well today, in spite of the wind and rain.
Went for blood test this morning, and made appointment for another on 25th. I have to have them every two weeks at the moment as my LFT is elevated - have I told you this before? Must keep my rheumy happy.went to A**a after and had a breakfast, then got drenched going to the bus stop home.
Christine, one of our local bus companies has a card called the Mango. It works a bit like the Oyster card. Very useful when going to the hospital before 9.30am (then we can use our bus passes). An armed robbery! Good job you weren't around while it was actually happening.
Barbara, OH is fine, his injury didn't turn out to be as bad as expected. Not much bruising, and the cuts are healing.
Joan, I'm glad to hear Sue has had her last injection. Hope all goes well.
Just enjoyed a Ma***m, in spite of the colder weather."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Barbara, I always see a wander around the town or a garden centre as exercise and you must call in to a cafe for tea and cake.
Chicken soup sounds lovely.
Thank you Joan. Hope all is well with Sue's x-ray on Friday.
Kath, I remember having fortnightly blood tests. What a pain having to trail to the hospital. Sounds as if there are a lot of Mangos around. You sound like me. I can eat ice cream no matter how cold it is. Glad your OH is on the mend.
Elizabeth, your cold seems to be dragging on a bit. Terrible when it keeps you awake at night. Hope it's clearing up now.
Managed to get my ironing done this afternoon. Phew. It's been lying there for over a week. Hee hee! I have bought my Xmas cake, mince pies and Xmas pud. The gluten free ones were on offer in T*sc* 3 for 2.Christine0 -
I've made 3 cuppa's and they have all gone cold. So just having a quick catch up before may be going back for a sleep. However I'm put off by the cold. I should stay up and do my blue badge application but need to get into gear first.
Still not had the heat on!
Hope all are well.

Morning all..just
Elizabeth I think this time of the year make matters worse forgetting going,,mind you if you are full of a cold and not sleeping its not surprising..hope you can get a good nap..and get the badge application in..not sure about you but we have to go in person now and they take your pic..we have had the heating on and off for a couple of weeks
Christine you did well there getting the cake and pud..this is it you see a bargain and have to grab it.especially gluten free..bet they are more expensive..at least you got the ironing done..I must try harder  just a thought on bargains I was in one shop not long ago and one lady was buying a cleaning spray..and the girl on the till said these are two for one ..and she didnt want the free one..I was shocked and then I thought maybe she didn't want to carry it..why on earth don't they just reduce stuff  thats my whinge for the day..
Kath I am glad to see your OH is ok...Its such a shame you got wet ..at least I hope you both enjoyed your breakfast...and I hope the bloods are ok
My niece has just rang meso I am off to meet her if OH comes in to give me a lift...hope you all have a goodish day...xxxxxLove
