Hello Barbara, Christine, Toady, Joan, Elizabeth and whoever else pops in. Hope everyone is as well as can be.
Elizabeth, I hope your cold clears away soon and that you can get some sleep.
Christine, most of my blood tests are done at my GPs clinic, so not too bad really. We have been having our heating on, and it gets quite warm, which is why I enjoyed the ice cream.
Barbara, I was wearing one of my new hats, so that kept my head dry at least. I hate having a wet head - it makes me feel such a drip. 8)
Remember that lamp I told you about? It's still not been repaired. As we go out early in the morning for the bus to town, it can be very scary."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Kath I see Dr P as i only have to go every 6 months everything went well bloods etc ,she said she would see me once a year if she was allowed but the guidelines state it must be every 6 months. We chatted about footwear and she wrote down the company who's shoes i wear to pass on to other patients if they want them, she was in a very good mood too.
Just had my eyes tested ,i go once a year because of the hydroxy its cost us an arm and leg for new glasses, went to te*co two pairs for the price of one nearly £300 pounds,i have vari-focals and reactive lens.
Hope everyone is keeping warm ,i find it quite cold at the mo.
Just remembered i had to have a new waterproof and looked at reg*tta outlet store on line ,got agreat bargain £70 jacket for £20 and its got a zip out fleece too.Mig0 -

Elizabeth, did you get your application done? Last year I didn't have the heating on till quite late but have had it on for a while in the evenings for a few days. Have to switch it off an hour before bed or it's too hot. Hope you managed a nap too.
Barbara, the gluten free are usually about twice as much as normal ones so glad I found them on offer. Totally agree with you there Barbara. They should make things half price instead of 2 for 1. People aren't going to spend any more in the long run with things like cleaning spray. And with food, it often means it's thrown in the bin because it doesn't get eaten. Hope you did get out to see your niece.
Kath, that isn't too bad. I used to have to get 2 buses to the hospital until my DIL, who was a phlebotomist at the hospital, offered to bring the bottles to my house to take the samples. Saved me so much time. That's not good that the lamp is still broken, especially at this time of year.
Mig, it's unbelievable the price of glasses. Wow, that was a bargain. Sounds lovely and warm with the fleece.
Joan, hope the x-ray shows good results for Sue tomorrow.Christine0 -
Just getting ready to go out and the rain is bouncing knee high, this calls for a coffee is called for while we wait it out.Good job I got the new waterproof.
Hope everyone is doing ok ish,I do think about you all even if I don't always ask how things are.
Take care all and keep dry. Mig0 -
Just found this out in one of our local newspapers. Hope it has been sorted out before my appointment next Tuesday!
L E Health Centre closed for a second day due to extensive flooding. L E Health Centre will be closed for a second day on Friday 14 November because of flooding which has affected all three floors of the building.
All power supply to the building has been switched off, phone lines are down and mopping up is under way with a view to getting the building up and running again as soon as possible.
The flooding was caused by a leak in the boiler room on the top floor which ran through the whole building and damaged electrical equipment.
It is hoped that the centre will be open again by Monday.
Patients of all three GP practices who are based in the health centre and patients due to attend outpatient appointments today for community health services - including podiatry, dental, health visiting and physiotherapy - are asked to ring the following numbers for guidance. ETC ETC.
mig, I will probably be seeing Dr P every six months once my new treatment has sorted out my problems and they have settled down. I used to see her yearly before. I thought your glasses deal with T**co was pretty good considering you have vari focals and reactive lenses.
Christine, that's similar to me. There is a bus that leaves at 6.35am that goes straight to my hospital, after that I'd have to catch two, so I'm very glad I can get blood tests done at my GPs. The only problem is, the forms were from the rheumy clinic so my GP won't get the results as we live in a different county. So I got two more forms from the practice nurse which will mean my GP will also get the results - isn't the NHS complicated.
Joan, I hope Sue's x-ray results give good results.
The sun is out now, just seen a load of Great Tits and a Blackbird come down for the fat sprinkles that are scattered around the garden and on the feeder.
Hope you all have a good weekend."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

I've started the BB application but they need a passport photo and copies of documents and my hair is a MESS so need it sorted first! I'm waiting for the hair lady to ring me to make an appointment. Its been ages since I had the stamina to worry about what I look like.
Still coughing badly but that is to be expected with RA. Things don't shift very easily and I'm waking up so many times in the night. I tried to sleep again this morning but I couldn't. So now I'm up and drifting along.
Found my missing vouchers so now got over £50 extra to spend . Plus nearly £100 nectar points-I do like freebies. Always nice to get a bargain too so well done Mig.
Joan I hope it was good news with the x-ray but was it yet another journey to the hospital for you both?
Toni hasn't popped in for a while. I hope all is well at home.
I'm surprised the lamp hasn't been fixed Kath. The lamp outside of our house is leaning towards our property and has been for years. It shines into my bedroom as my Son broke one shutter so it doesn't close very well. He's broken the locks on our en-suite windows too-this is when he gets angry about the noise.
Hope Mango has settled down Applerose. how is your Dad?
Toady hope life is treating you well.
Did you get your trip out Barbara? Weather is grim but I quite like the rain, glad to be alive and all that.
okay I'll float off somewhere else ow as finding it hard to concentrate.
Take care

Hello all had an early start this morn ..forgot it was bloods..
Joan so glad that Sue is getting there..you two are made of good stuff
Elizabeth Like I said we have to have out pic taken at the center ..and the day I went it was pouring down and windy..I asked could I comb my hair...no she took the pic.. hope that cough clears up soon..Idid have a good day thankyou
Kath Oh no ..that is awful especially with everything being based ..hope they get back to normal soon for you and glad to see you had your hat on when it started raining
Mig it poured down here this morning then the sun came out ...it is nice and mild
Christine..its awful when they can charge double for gluten free wouldn't you think that the doctor would be able to provide voucher or whatever..yes the 3 for 2and 2 for 1 drive me mad like you say ..there is so much wastage...
I wen to have bloods done then we went shopping had something to eat then got a call from middle GD can you pick me up..the weather went lovely this afternoon more like spring..hope you have all had a good day..xxxxx

Just had a phone call from Te*co to say my glasses are ready was told 10-14 days so was surprised as its only been 5days,will pick them up Monday its pouring down here and chilly.Mig0

Mig, hope you managed to get out and the rain stopped for you. That was quick then getting your glasses.
Kath, the flood must have caused chaos for everyone. Hope your appointment goes ahead ok. The hospital I go to with the RA is in a different county. They didn't have a rheumie at the 2 other hospitals which are closer. It does cause problems with communication. Don't understand why when we have phones, internet and fax.
Elizabeth, hope your hairdresser gets in touch soon. I always feel lighter and generally better when I have my hair done. You must be so tired coughing so much. It must be ready to clear off by now, hopefully. I used all my nectar points, vouchers etc last Xmas. Haven't got a lot of them this year though. Mango is fine although my daughter told me I should be giving him a tin and a half of dog food each day and I've only been giving him 1 tin. Oops! Poor thing must have been hungry. My son's dog, which is nearly 3 times the size, only has 1 tin and she is overweight. Mind you, she does get leftovers. We think dad has a kidney infection again. Just waiting for test results. It means he is a bit more confused at the moment. Thanks for asking.
Joan, it sounds as if Sue is getting there. Does she still have the pot on then? Hope the 4 weeks passes quickly.
Barbara, just as well you remembered about your bloods. How awful of them not letting you comb your hair to get your photo taken. Bet they'd have combed theirs. People with Coeliac Disease can get food on prescription as it's much more serious then being intolerant. Hope you had a good day out.
Well, who's clever idea was it to get the train in to town and then when there, decide to try and get round every shop and do all the Xmas shopping at once. I quite enjoyed myself but, once I could hardly walk, decided to go back to the station just in time to see the train pull away. So I had to sit for an hour waiting for the next one. Couldn't face the 10 minute walk back in to town with my bags. Didn't get round half the shops I wanted to and had to give myself a talking to. There are still 5 and a half weeks left for goodness sake.Did feel a little sad as I found lots of things my 2 GC on their way to Oz would have liked but I couldn't buy them. I bought a door draft excluder. It looks like a log and has 3 owls sitting on top. And a lovely snow globe with a beautiful white owl inside. Shouldn't have bought them really but I love them.

Hi all, sorry not been around, had my consultant appt this week and typically (after months of behaving) my last bloods had spiked, just in time for her to 'surprise' me with it  I'd so assumed they'd be fine that it was the first time I've sat there thinking nothing of it, and idly waiting to be rubber-stamped as come back in x months. So I'm having a little sulk and will probably be faffing about with docs & meds for a bit til I see which way the wind is blowing. Hopefully a random flare. Will be in a corner with a strong cuppa and keeping an eye on everyone else's doings even if I don't post, toady. xx0

Morning all
the sun is shinning...after the early fog
Glad to see that Migs glasses were ready early, hope they are ok when you get them..
Christine...aww I felt for you looking at things for your GC..maybe you could pick something on line that can be delivered to them..a nice surprise...we all do daft things and think we can get away with them ..at least you are not giving in ...I am sure that mango is getting plenty.;..
hope they can get on top of your dads infection...the kidneys take all the waste out your blood ..so he will be confused..I was asked this when my kidney play up...
Toady..sorry your bloods weren't quite right..like you say we go along thinking its just another test..and then they throw this at you..I hope you can ward off a flare..you know were we are if needed..x
I am sat hear..waiting for middle GD to pick up some tickets I had to print for her..Grandad took her home last night only for her to say she had forgotten them.. so her mum is bring her said they would be here for 9..its a book signing at 12...
going to get a present today..my neighbours little girl is 6 tomorrow ..will see you later..be quiet Toady is asleep in the corner...xxxxLove

Hello everyone, hope most of you are feeling OK. I'm so tired, think I have sinus problems but won't know until Tuesday when/if I see my GP.
Toady, sorry to hear your bloods have started to play up. Just when you think things are going well too. Think I'll join you for a nap in the corner, then have a nice cuppa soup."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Toady, hope it is just a quick flare and things ease off soon. Don't worry about posting if you are busy.
Barbara, you are right. The best way to get Xmas presents to my GC is through Am*z*n. Not too costly if I just get one big thing each instead of a few smaller things. They charge per item plus for the full package. Hope your GD managed to come for her tickets.
Joan, hope you and Sue managed to have a good as possible weekend.
Kath, hope your GP can sort out what is wrong. It's awful feeling so tired.
Didn't do a lot today, dog walking, dad visiting and some washing. Just watching the end of War Horse. Good film but very sad.Christine0 -
Got my new glasses and they fit a treat ,very impressed with the service i got in te*co.
Sorry your bloods aren't so good Toady hope they improve.
Good luck with your GP app Kath.
Its dull and drizzling here .Mig0 -
Well I had a lie-in until 12.30 yesterday! I think i needed it. then had to help make a costume for Lucy-I actually like sewing by hand and arthritis has been kind to my upper body with only the elbows and wrist suffering.
Overall it was a lovely, calm, quiet weekend. mind you have woken up to blocked drains! OH is good at that sort of thing, grubbing around.
Hair cut tomorrow and then choosing a colour to do on another day. Can't manage blonde anymore.Have a funeral to attend on Friday-have lost 4 people close in the past fortnight and 3 were in their 50's. Just hoping I don't cough all the way through the service as I'm rattling at the moment as its now on my chest.
hope Sue is okay with her plaster on and you are able to cope Joan.
Toady that is typical after a goodish spell. So will you be seen sooner than the usual couple of months this time? I hope the flare settles and isn't going to get any worse. I hope you will pop in and post or I will miss you.
Applerose I suppose you had better give Mango what he is used to. May be he burns it up quicker than the other dogs?
sorry your dad is still suffering. They should be able to help with medication but it can take a while.
Shopping is a struggle which is why I do all mine online. Gone are the days of hobbling round a few shops and then having to give up! But at least you got some done. Sending pressies to Australia is going to be a new experience for you. Maybe they will buy on your behalf? I'm already getting hassled to tell people what the kids want and I haven't even mentioned it to them as they will get all excited! November is way too early for me!
hope you sorted the tickets Barbara. Fancy her leaving them behind! Is this the same GD who forgot the cake?
Kath hopefully the medical centre is now open and you didn't have to change your appointment. I am tired too so maybe it is the cold we both had/had?
Okay I have a few things to do then going to try to sleep but like i said before the bed will be cold now so not so welcoming!

Hello all,
Bad news first, good news second. Firstly - my Nodular Prurigo has come back and itching with a vengeance. :x I think it's because the Prednisolone has now been reduced to 15mg a day and the MTX hasn't kicked in yet. Good news, I rang our surgery this morning to check it was open again, it is, and my appointment for tomorrow is still on.Order of itinerary: Sort out my prescription list which has go very messy with old meds still on it. Sort out hearing/catarrh/bunged up nose. Could be anything so I'll see what she says.
Barbara, good luck with the painting course, I like a bit of art work.
Joan, 4 weeks doesn't sound long, but when you are in plaster, it can go very slowly. Sending you both gentle hugs.
Elizabeth, glad you had a restful day, sounds like you needed it with a busy time ahead. Hope you get the blocked drains sorted. :?
mig, glad you are pleased with your new glasses.
Christine, I love War Horse, got the DVD and the book. I'd love to see the stage show.
Hope all who are not feeling well soon perk up."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Glad you're pleased with your new glasses Mig.
Elizabeth, you must have needed the sleep, sleeping till lunch time. So sorry to hear you have lost 4 people so close together and so young. Hope you are ok. I have been giving Mango his 1 1/2 tins and he's started only eating about 1 tin.
Joan, another 4 weeks for Sue in plaster. Hopefully the time will pass quickly.
Barbara, wish I could paint. I'm useless at painting and drawing. 'll look forward to seeing yours.
Kath, oh no. Not the itching again. Could you adjust your meds back again? Hope tomorrow's appointment goes well. I'd love to see the War Horse stage show too. I bet it's just as moving.
Today seemed to go on forever. Didn't think I'd ever finish work. My boss and his wife had a big argument this afternoon, something to do with the business they run together. I was in the room next door but went to the other side of the house out of the way. About an hour later, they came through to the kitchen holding hands. The nearest big town has been having a massive makeover during the last 2 years. Last year, there was no room for a proper Xmas tree so they only had a very small cone shape with lights on. Everyone was upset about it. This year, the council are trying to make up for it and have put up a 50 foot real tree, a giant Rudolph on top of a very old one storey building right in the middle of the High Street and dotted around will be giant Xmas baubles that you can walk through. Can't wait to go and see it.

I remember about the christmas tree last year Applerose and am glad they have tried to make amends. The tree is one thing I ever scrimp on, I suppose its a hangover from when we were young. Every year we'd fight over decorating it but one year my Brother wanted to be all arty and just use pretend snow but we ignored him and put up all the baubles despite him sulking.
I looked on Amazon and my very first Barbie is back on sale as an anniversary edition (expensive) but it just took me right back to 1969. I'm tempted to buy one but it would just sit in a cupboard.
I had my hair cut and I'm very pleased but going back for a colour tomorrow so a couple of hours to sit with my thoughts.
Drains are sorted but have now got rats in the garden, down by the compost.
Kath glad your appointment is still on and you have the opportunity to ask about the ears and sinus problems.Sorry the itching is back. Mine has stopped again now!
My D. is going to watch War Horse on stage in December with her school as they are reading the book.
Barbara good luck with the painting. I love art but have been too tired to attend any classes for ages. I know what you mean about taxi's-I've had to turn them away before and they give you such a look.
I'm starting to feel so tired hope I can last until bedtime. I went up at 8.30 last night and my OH sent Dan up a bit later, luckily he didn't destroy anything while I was gone.
just had 2 mince pies, they sit on your stomach don't they?
