The BT router broke on Sunday and Dan struggles without it plus both my girls finally arrived Monday so I was expecting trouble! Instead he was great and didn't run away and hum for hours.
We had another turkey dinner and present opening session followed by board games and the new router arrived Tues morning. So it was a lovely couple of days, although I fell asleep quite early last night as I was so tired so missed more fun and laughter (Dan was next to me). It was a struggle fitting them in but worth it.

I'm going to post before I lose this.
Happy New Year to you all, keep well, health and happiness

    HAPPY NEW YEAR

It was a very quiet one here, just a few fireworks round about 8pm, then nothing until 1am where we heard a few more fireworks. But I didn't drop to sleep until gone 11pm because I was ITCHING :x 10mg Pred, 20ml MTX and 20mg Leflunomide obviously are not working. :!: :?:

Hope everyone had a good evening/morning, and are feeling fairly good.

Happy this morning though, we had a Robin, Blackbird and a third bird I couldn't quite see clearly enough to see what it was - probably a Great Tit.

Yes sounds like we all had a great CHristmas which is always lovely to hear, although poor Barbara nearly had a heart attack from the fireworks.

I just had 2 sips of Baileys and it hurts my stomach so I should give it a miss.

I've had a lazy day-still got tons of drying up in the kitchen and lots to iron and can't face it.

OH went into London to watch the fireworks, I stayed home but all went well. Neighbours seem to have gone away so its been very quiet past week :hoho:

Loved having the big uns here Toni although they make me feel so old nowadays.

Barbara, I was in bed by 11 but stayed awake with my laptop on as my daughter wanted to wish me happy new year. I was out cold shortly after. We had fireworks around 8pm then again at midnight. Didn't last too long though.

Glad you had a good time Elizabeth. Sounds like fun. Glad your new router arrived quickly. It took me a few days to clear up after my visitors so don't worry, you'll get there.

Kath, oh no, we don't want you itching again. Hope it was a one-off.

I was invited to my DIL's parents for lunch today. It was good spending time with our GC.

Happy new year to you too Coco and Toni and Joan. And to everyone else.

A Very Happy New Year to all :D I have been tidying up for a friend to come round (the dreaded scenario :o), enough said, will be back when (if) I've recovered from that. If I drank, I'd have a drop of something with you all, but I'll have a virtual nip. 2015.. can't say I like the sound of it that much :? .. now if it was 1987, even I would let off a New Year sparkly confetti party whistle thingy. Love to you all, xx.

    Good morning everyone

Will soon have to stop using the Christmas smilies and I so love them :xmas_sad:

Baileys gives me belly ache too Elizabeth you are the only other person I know who has that problem!! It's so nice though......Sounds like you had a good time. Your OH is brave going to London!!!

    Toady
1987???? That would be an experience to be there again wouldn't it? :xmas_eek:

Christine I am glad you had a nice day with in-laws and GCs :)

KathT I am very sorry to hear about the return of the dreaded ITCH :x I hope it departs pronto!

Joan - I hope Sue has a TV in her room else she'd be bored in bed by 8!! Mind you if they arrive at 7 she's got to be up early hasn't she? Do you have to be up to let them in then?

Barbara - I don't have a calendar yet :xmas_sad: Waiting till they drop in price :xmas_lol:

Still mild here although I can see the sun trying to peep out ;) My Charley had a nasty migraine yesterday evening. It was kind of nice to be able to tuck her up in bed with sick bowls and cool patches etc. She was ok by about midnight. With Lucy being ill I have had to avoid her when she's been ill with colds etc in-case I pass it on.

    Love

Hello my Cafeteria Friends, hope you are all still in the festive mood. Although my middle daughter and DIL have both gone back to work today - not together, daughter works as a cleaner at the local army barracks, DIL works in a call centre. :)

Alcura have just rung to confirm my next MTX delivery will be next Thursday (8th). Mind you, I did have to ring the hospital to let them know I only had one left. They hadn't even sent the prescription off until today!!! But it's all sorted. I took my next to last one last night. So relieved it's all organised. :|

At least the itching isn't quite as bad as it was originally. Still bad enough though, especially as it stopped altogether when my treatment began. :?

That's a long time to keep off her feet Joan. My sleep is usually late as Daniel does not stop until he's exhausted. If I'm lucky I'll get to watch a film/TV before going to sit with him...

Poor Charley I hope she is feeling better now. both my girls said they had been 'proper ill' before Christmas.

The tummy pain from Baileys is awful isn't it yet such a lovely drink.

I missed the panto today  had freebie tickets but kids rebelled and didn't want to go-so I'm not bothering anymore. We usually have a great time and they get presents as Hasbro donate tons of toys. At least another family with an autistic child got to go in our place.

Barbara I never put my cards up. I just don't have the space. I'll leave the tree as my Brother is visiting tomorrow pre-football match in London .The Girls left on New Years Eve.

I hope you don't lose out on the van Barbara as that would be unfair. I think you can buy back the van and get it repaired.

mmm Toady 1987 after the big storm....I've never really been able to party as I always seem to have children to find babysitters for!

Kath lucky you reminded them to order the mtx. hope the itching is easing,
    Take care all

Toady, hope you enjoyed your time with your friend and you have recovered.

Toni, I quite like the Xmas smilies too. Glad Charley's migraine didn't last too long. I can understand you enjoyed tucking her in and giving her some special attention.

Barbara, I took some pictures of my kids when they were young but couldn't always afford to buy the films and get them processed. I take hundreds now and delete the really bad ones. I started by taking my cards down and ended up taking everything down. Didn't take it upstairs till today. It's not right that you pay all that insurance money and then get told you can only have less than half what the van is worth. The insurance companies win no matter what. Hope you enjoyed your Chinese with your family.

Kath, glad you got the MTX sorted out. I've heard a few people say they didn't get it on time and had to chase after it. Hope the itching continues to ease.

Joan, won't be too long now before Sue gets the boot off. Not surprised you go to bed early as you are up early. I usually get up at 7.30 for work but while I've been off, I've been sleeping till nearly 9. Hope I can get up for work on Monday.

Elizabeth, what a shame you missed the panto. Hope you enjoyed your brother's visit. It's not always easy to get baby sitters, is it?

My plan for today was to go in to town for a wander round but I ended up staying at home ..... again. Did some more jigsaw and had a nice walk with Mango. Took the decorations upstairs.

Evening ..late for me you will notice
Christine we have had a lovely time, I haven't had a good Chinese meal for a couple of years since the one we have closed down...the baby was good, she just sat in the high chair with spring rolls rice and prawn toast..
its nice to do just what you feel like doing...having a walk and doing some of your jigsaw, I used to love doing them amd might just treat myself,do you have somewhere tp keep it safe for when your gc come...that was my problem
got a fortune cookie, never had one before, and it says, wharever you want , just go for it and I will be surprised...well somthing like that
right I am off to bed hope you all sleep well..xxxxx

    Morning All

So if Barbara, Elizabeth and I all get belly ache from Baileys...what causes it???

I love the stuff too :xmas_sad:

Barbara I hope the surprise if you 'go for it' is a good one :xmas_eek:

Sounds like the meal out was a good one anyway :)

I hope Charley did like being tucked up by me. It's upsetting when you have to avoid those you love when they're ill incase they give you germs and I pass them on to Lucy, but for now I have no choice.

Christine I think your plan for the day was a good one - I bet Mango appreciated it anyway :)

Elizabeth Thank you Charley is much better now - she's had loads over Christmas a lot of the hemiplegic ones so scary. I want her to 'see someone' if she will.

Shame the kids have outgrown the panto, but good that another family will be able to go now who have a child with autism :)

Joan did you always rise at 6??? That's early. I am glad Sue has her IPAD to use in bed else she might be bored going to bed so early

23rd Jan is within sight now so hopefully Sue will be able to start mobilising soon after that :)

KathT - phewie! Good job you spotted the lack of MTX!! I am glad the itching has subsided a bit and hope it goes away completely again :?

    Love to everyone

Hello everyone, hope all are well. Today started off foggy, but that cleared and it's now really sunny. Rather than put the CH on early, we are using one of our halogen heaters. We have two, one up in the computer room (back bedroom really) which is where we are now. Also have one downstairs for living room. Gives out a fair amount of heat, even on the lowest setting. Perhaps we should have one in the cafe, or is it permanently spring and summer there? :D

Worse than the itching, is the soreness. I have a few open sores which can be quite painful at times. I've put S**lon cream on one of them with a protective pad held in place with a crepe bandage. Don't know if it will help or not. :?

Oh well, enough of my moaning, there are those worse off than I am. Will just have a cuppa soup with some buttered muffins.

Barbara, I love Chinese food but rarely get any. I can just imagine the baby sitting with hers. There's only the baby, nearly 2, who might touch my jigsaw and she's very good. Won't touch it if she's told not to. My glasses of Baileys keep getting bigger too. :xmas_lol:

Toni, sounds as if it will be a good idea for Charley to see someone. I've never had a migraine so no idea what it's like although I know a couple of people who get them regularly. Hope they've stopped now.

Oh so Pepper has been naughty. Hope the weather didn't damage your remote.

Kath, the halogen heaters sound good. Do they use much electricity? Is there nothing the doctor can do about your sores? Hope the cream helps. My eyes aren't too good at the moment. I thought you were having battered muffins. :xmas_lol:

Called in to Ald* today. Only wanted some Ibuprofen gel. I got to the checkout and a woman barged past to get there before me. Her husband followed her and crashed in to my basket with his, knocking mine out of the way. It took me by surprise so I just let it go. I put my gel on the end of the checkout then noticed the woman I should have been behind had left her paras and ibups in the basket when she put it on the pile of baskets. I took them over for her and she was really thankful saying she and her husband would have died without them (guess they were hungover. Didn't seem ill). I then wondered where I'd put my gel. There it was at the end of the checkout. I picked it up and put it in front of the couple who'd pushed past and said perhaps they hadn't seen it or me and I'd only left the queue to give the woman her painkillers. The couple were apologetic saying they hadn't realised I was before them. It wasn't till I left the shop that I realised I'd pushed in front of them. Oh well, it was their fault for pushing me out of the way in the first place. I giggled all the way home :xmas_lol: :xmas_lol:
