I've got my oneprazole now and I had a better night. I think I'll give up on pastry, alcohol (not that I drink much), fruit and veg with a skin on, mozarella and acidic foods as they all make my stomach painful.

Mine was out playing computer games with his mates Barbara! There wasn't anything I could do as we had just moved into a rented house and my divorce settlement (from the ex) had only just been finalised and the children and I would have been homeless but it has left a bitter taste. I didn't know about housing benefit or any other benefits.

Toni I'm very glad OH got to experience agonising back pain just for long enough to make him realise how difficult it can be with little ones so dependent on you. I sometimes wish some of these politicians could experience pain like us to maybe make them more compassionate and understanding.

Applerose I can just picture your GS sitting on the floor with his tall container full of cereal and milk.

Glad Toady had time for a cuppa. I do know how difficult it is to keep up with things on a daily basis but its lovely to hear from you. I'm like Barbara and have to work myself up for the GP and even hospital appointments. I still have to get my x rays done and go to the opticians as my eyes are getting worse and worse (probably old age)!!

It has been raining all morning but I hear tomorrow will be nice here in the South. I hope so because it is FA Cup final day. Oldest child has her birthday on Sunday and she messaged me to say cards and cheque arrived safely.

Joan I hope you are all wrapped up well when taking the doggy for a walk. Have a lovely weekend x

Hugs to Kath and hope she continues to improve and Mig's nose is now better.

Hello to you all, sending hugs to all those who are suffering.

Joan, we had some heavy rain this morning. When we came up into the room we laughingly call 'the office' where our big desktop computers are, we looked out of window and saw a magpie sitting on a plant pot in our next door neighbour's garden. It had its back to us and looked rather forlorn. We kept looking out, as we were worried about it. After about half an hour, it eventually hopped off the pot and sat in the sun for a while. We think it must have had a drenching in the rain and got cold and couldn't fly. It's gone now, so hopefully it recovered. :D

Elizabeth, I take Lansoprazole. When I came home from hospital I saw what I thought was a full box in my medicine box. It wasn't. So I rang in a repeat script including Lansoprazole on it, but it won't get to me until Monday. So I have 2 days without any. :x My own stupid fault, I should have checked and not just assumed.

Barbara, I get the Vintage magazine from T**co.

Toady, hope you soon have more ups than downs, and that the doc can sort you out. xx

Christine, we heard it was going to improve soon. Or was that just a dream? Haven't heard anything about hailstones though. I suppose it depends where you live.

Hope things start to improve for everyone with pain/sleeplessness or whatever problem you are having. xx

    I've come for a rant. :x

As you may remember, I've been having MTX 25ml injections for the last 3 months. An increase from 20ml, with a reduction of my Leflunomide from 20mg to 10mg. Also taking 10mg Prednisolone which has gradually been reduced from 40mg since last September. I have one injection left, and A****a rang to arrange delivery of my next prescription. When she quoted 20ml I queried it, telling her it had been increased. She checked with my hospital, who told her it was a planned reduction based on the results of my last blood test on 18th May. Of course she couldn't tell me what the problem was, but a letter is supposed to be on its way explaining it. Probably liver function, but could just as likely be neutrophils as both have been queried for some time now. My point is, they have my phone number so why not phone to explain as well as send out a letter, which probably won't arrive until the middle of next week. At least I'd know what the problem is!! I have one 25ml injection left, I'm still going to use it. s075.gif

Sorry if my new avatar confused you, and sorry for the rant.

Toady, sorry you haven't been too good. Hope the doc can help. Take care and we'll see you back when you feel up to it.

Toni, it's looking unlikely now for hail, I think. Sun tomorrow, then rain and summer starting next Wednesday they say.

Joan, it's good that you get out every day with the dogs. I think summer will arrive next week.

Barbara, yes my daughter and her family are quite settled now, although still get a bit homesick. My daughter has had two more job interviews so she has her fingers crossed.

Elizabeth, sometimes it is difficult to give up certain foods but worth it if it makes you feel better.

Kath, poor magpie. Sounds as if it must have got a soaking. Birds do look rather sad when they're sitting after the rain. Don't worry about ranting. We're all hear to listen. It does sound silly not phoning to explain to you. A letter takes too long. Hope it turns out ok.

Went for a drive round with my son and his wife this afternoon looking at houses as they are planning on moving. We saw quite a few for sale but they are waiting till they get someone interested in theirs before they make appointments to view inside any of them. My GD's hair is long enough now to wear in bunches (or pigtails, depending where you're from - hair tied up in 2 pony tails, one either side of her head). She looked so sweet and a bit more grown up. When we got back to their house, out came the doctor's kit to make all the poorly babies better again.

I can't get going either Barbara!!

All is well in the Toni household thanks. Everyone keeps saying how well Lucy looks and Charley is still enjoying 'caring' for the elderly. I know it won't be forever, but she is enjoying it now :)

I am sure your GD will cope with the bottom teeth now she's used to the top set.

Christine how sweet your GD's hair is long enough for bunches :) Bless her!! I love those games they get obsessed with I do miss those days. :( big sigh!!

Kath - rant away my girl - that is so wrong!! They have your number and you are the person at the centre of all this so should be notified FIRST of any changes and why :x

I like the new avatar :)

    Elizabeth
I am glad you have your omeprazole back :) BIG phew!!! I am sorry you are giving up all that lovely stuff, but I agree about them all too :( so so sad :( In my opinion it was years of taking brufen without anything to protect belly :(

Yes politicians should be given a forced lesson in empathy. It needs to go on just long enough for them to think it won't ever get better.

Hello Joan :) Glad you saw me and that the dogs have been able to get out :) Charley has started a job caring for older people in their homes when they are struggling - she loves it. If you lived nearer she could have been helping Sue :) Her experience with Lucy has helped no end I think :)

    No news from Toady??

    I do hope I haven't missed anyone

    Hello everyone,

Another one here who can't get for going. Must be the weather.

Toady, you describe perfectly how I often feel. Sometimes not even wanting to hold a conversation. But you know what, it's just how I am, and I know what I need. So when I get told I should do this or that, get out more etc, I just smile and nod. I know what works for me, and I'm quite content.

I'm laughing at your little un Christine. He won't go hungry will he?

Such a shame that you need to give up certain foods Elizabeth, but if it makes you feel better I suppose it makes sense. Can you still eat chocolate? If so, you'll get by!

Now who's been upsetting our Kath? They won't get away with it though cos no one is more on the ball than she is, where meds are concerned.

Toni, it doesn't take much to see why your Charley is so good with her patients. With you as a role model, it's inevitable.

I hope Joan and Sue are well, and keeping within the speed limit as they razz around town.

I hope you are going well prepared to Scarborough Barbara. It's very hilly isn't it? I'm sure you know that though. Posh new telly too. It's all good.

I had great success using an eye mask to keep the light out. Actually slept until 9.30.

Okay, now for the lemon drizzle cake, and a builders. I hung my washing out, and kicked off my shoulder big time, so I'll just have a little rest before I bring it in.....Love to you all.....Cate.x

Barbara, don't worry about being late. I rarely get here till bedtime. Glad your GD found plenty in T*sc*. I think with the offer on, I buy more than I need. I've got 2 loaves in the freezer now. So you got your tv ordered. I always forget to check John L*w*s when I want something. Their prices are very competitive and I've heard their customer services are very good. The weather is supposed to be good from Wednesday so you've times your trip to Scarborough well.

Toni, it's great to hear how well Lucy is doing. Glad Charley is still enjoying her job. Even if it's not permanent, it'll look good on her cv.

Cate, I think you're right about the weather. I feel more tired when it's dull or cold and much better when the sun shines and it's warm. And who else would know what's best for you but you. Makes sense to me. Hope your shoulder is feeling a little better.

Went in to town today to get my gf pies. The people who make them did a Xmas dinner one at Xmas. I asked about them today and was told that if I let them know when I want them, they'll make some for me. They know who I am now as I go once a month to stock up. Also bought a bright lime green washing up bowl, dish drainer and voiles for the dining room window. Looks much brighter now in the kitchen/dining room. Because I'd also gone in to the next town for a wander, the bus back is an hour but it was quite pleasant. The bus was quiet and the sun was shining and the countryside looked lovely and green. Felt as if I was on a day out.

    Hello Christine :)

I love that lime green colour!! It's so cheery isn't it?

Charley is happy thanks - she's just doing it until she can decide what she wants to do with her life. I think they want to keep her, but I know it's hard work physically long-term.

I must say a Christmas dinner pie sounds LOVELY :D What a great ide

We have torrential rain here today

Not to worry we are off shopping for holiday stuff and it's dry inside there.

Cate You are right to only do what you know you can do and gently ignoring pushy people.

Lucy has several eye-mask - I probably said I am so glad yours helped you sleep better!

I put my washing on three lightweight airers and bob them outside the back door in the sun. Cate I hope your shoulder has eased now?

Still no news from Toady :?

I hope everyone is ok today?

    Love and ((()))

Charley would enjoy meeting the dogs too

Taking your walker with you is a very sensible idea then you can pace yourself.

It's pouring down here - I had to dry Daisycat off when she went out for her morning constitutional.

Toni, I love shopping for holidays. Hope you have fun. Poor Diasycat. We've had a little rain but it looks as if we'll be getting more.

Joan, using your walker when hanging the washing out is a good idea.

Berry crumble sounds delicious, Mig. With creamy custard. Yum.

Woke up this morning and brain was saying let's get up, have breakfast and then tidy the whole house as no gardening will be done due to rain. Eyes said no, don't open me. I'm too tired. I was actually comfortable for once in a blue moon but had to get up to go to the toilet. So, compromise it was. Get up, make breakfast then go back to bed. House tidying can be done later. Maybe.

I'll leave the kettle on for anyone popping in. Hope those who haven't been in lately are ok.

Hello everyone, we've had rain here this morning, stopped for now though. Hope everyone is coping with the changeable weather, heard summer should arrive around late Wednesday, or Thursday, with temps of at least 25c. Hope it doesn't get too hot though, I like a nice even temperature with a slight breeze - not that I'm fussy you understand.

Barbara, Mary Berry can't hold a candle to our mig. I'm definitely up for some cauliflower cheese. Might even manage some crumble and custard too. :D

Christine, my brain says that every morning - my body just won't listen though. 8) I'll help myself to coffee though, that might wake me up. k050.gif

Joan, I don't have time for much else really, what with sleeping, eating, taking meds and using my inhalers/nebulisers, even fitting in a toilet trip is becoming more difficult, and I drink a lot of water.

Cate, have a sit down with your feet up, here's a cuppa - builders of course. Can't remember if you take sugar or not, so will put it near you in case. Enjoy your drizzle cake.

Hope everyone is getting as much rest as you need - no? Thought not. :?

Mig, this happens all too often. If only they were a bit more forthcoming with the information that is your right to know about. :x I'm still waiting for rheumy letter explaining why my MTX has been reduced. OH doesn't think I will get one. :? Hope your injection works, how will I survive without your cooking?

Barbara, yes, it's as good as it gets for now. I've been choking a lot though, liquids seem to go down too quickly and causes a coughing fit. Nasal drip does the same. Your OH is like mine. He says he doesn't want to know if he has anything wrong either. Don't understand that, I'd be scared of every little symptom, wondering what it was. I'd rather know, and be prepared.

Where is everyone? Hope you are all as well as can be.

Barbara, that's men for you. They never want to know if anything is wrong. They must think that if you don't think about it, it'll go away.

Kath, I'm with you. Temperature somewhere in the middle is good.

Mig, I occasionally make double meals but usually end up eating them before they reach the freezer. Hope the blood test turns out ok.

Joan, hope you and Sue are as well as you can be.

We're having heavy rain and very strong winds here. We're on yellow alert. And it's cold. I've put the heating on for a bit. My eldest GS is on an outward bound trip for a few days. They've been busy canoeing and caving. All the kids seem to love going there.

Morning all, Raining here too but the wind has lessened a little.
Forgot to tell what happened at the week-end we were sat having a cuppa and a biscuit when there was a knock at the front door so my daughter goes to answer it was a guy with a dog on a lead who was most apologetic but had we got a spare carrier bag as his dog had left a mess at the top of our drive ,he had taken two bags out with him as thats what he usually needs but the dog had decided to go again ,so we give him the bag and he cleans it up all the while apologising ,we were just so surprised that some-one would actually knock and ask for a bag not many would .
Well off for blood test in half an hour, its brightening up a bit hope that means we don't get wet.
    Take care all Mig

Hello Barbara, Joan, mig, Christine, Toni, and anyone I've forgotten.

Barbara, I hope you have good weather in Scarborough. Beautiful place, but I would have trouble with the hills now. Enjoy.

mig, I wish some of our local dog walkers were as considerate as your surprise visitor. We get it on every corner, even though the local council has stencilled a delightful picture of a dog, with a pile behind it and little wavy lines indicating that it's smelly, and a large X over it. Hope your blood test gets good results and that you didn't get wet.

Joan, I hope you and Sue stayed indoors today because of the extra strong winds. :? Don't want you getting blown over on your scooters.

We have some Roses, a Hydrangea and two ferns waiting to be potted up. Too windy today though, so OH has stood them in a sheltered spot.

Joan, hope you haven't got these terrible winds we have here.

Wow, Mig, that is unusual. Most people would just walk off and leave the mess. It's good to know some people care. Hope the blood test wasn't painful.

Barbara, it is difficult to know what to pack. It should be warm and sunny for you but you never know with the weather the way it is. Hope you have a lovely holiday. Don't worry about posting if you can't get on. We can hear all about it when you get back.

Kath, I've got plants waiting to go in too. I am growing tomatoes and peppers in my porch. I put them outside when the weather is nice. The other day, I forgot to bring them in and the poor tomatoes got bashed about a bit. Oops!

Well it was another wet, dry, hot, cold and windy day. This week's lollies are salted caramel. Not tried salted caramel before. Very yummy. They had sent me lots of money off coupons which I used on things which were already on offer so saved lots.
