Hello people :sunny: thank you for your kind thoughts & words. Barbara - stop worrying this minute that I feel obliged to come in, or to post, or to read - I came in when I did of my own accord. It's very difficult to make a toad do something it doesn't want, as people who know me, know. And you are not mathering me either as previously said. It's kind of you to ask after me, though of course, I don't want you to worry when I'm not here, either.

For the record - if there were major things going on with me I would let you know, so if absent, I'm just not myself/'gone to ground' as they say, & will be back sooner or later. :)

Thanks for your support TK & I'm sorry your humira is causing you problems. From looking on the net some people seem to have it to begin with then it wears off as they get used to it - others are fine to begin with & then develop it way down the line. :? Silly side effects. Hope it improves.

There seems to be a trend of dentists & opticians going on, I'll join in with a trip to the dentists last month, opticians I've been putting off. Also a few gasmen around, reminds me of the old joke, something like 'Grandma's had all her teeth out and a gas cooker put in' (Frank Carson?)

Applerose is going away I see (when?) and mig is going to the royal mews - lovely. :) Anything suitable in sight for barbara yet? Sorry if you've said.

Joan I hope you are keeping well x

Love to absolutely everybody, and thank you for the catering (via Emily) Kath :) lemon meringue pie for me, no contest. xxx

Barbara I saw the photos before my eyes deteriorated so I can't blame my eyesight! I thought my eyes were mashed but op says they are in very good nick which surprised me!

Toady the itching started suddenly after a long, welcome break from it. My neck is currently the worst and It wakes up in the night.
so pleased you seem a bit chirpier.

I'm sorry your friend broke her hip Barbara but so kind of you to visit her.Did she break the replaced hip because they are hard to re fix.

Mig have a lovely visit to your Son and to the mews.

I'm not stopping as got to sew a button on the new blazer! But the sun is shining so I might sit in the garden for a bit, Trouble is builders are in next door and I don't fancy being gawped at.

    Lots of love
    Elizabeth xx

Glad you had a good time with your friend Barbara. How lovely to find a good friend in that way. Did she break her THR? I'm never sure exactly when afternoon ends and evening begins.

Oh my goodness Elizabeth. Don't think I'd survive getting up at 6.30. Hope your eyes are better with the glasses. That itching sounds bad. Hope you can get something for it.

Joan I haven't got my money yet. Meant to get it today. Must call in on Monday. Just hope they don't have to order it.

I see you are off on another trip Mig. Have a good time at your son's and enjoy the tours.

Good to see you Toady. Glad there's nothing serious wrong. I'm going away a week on Tuesday. Gathered most things together ready to pack.

It's been raining quite heavily here and quite windy with a little thunder and lightening here. Guess I won't be getting any gardening done for the next few days. Got a call from my sister at lunch time saying she and my other sister wanted to meet up with me as something had happened and we needed to discuss it. I won't go in to detail here as I've posted it in a separate post.

    Hello everyone,

Good to see mig and Toady.

Toni as ever, running herself ragged for her lovely family. What a mum!

Pleased too that our other Supermum, Elizabeth is finally getting a little help. I hate going for new specs, cos when I'm choosing the frames, I can't see what they look like. They do take pics, but not the same somehow.

Christine, I am sickened by what has happened to your dad. Don't let it go whatever you do. You could be saving other families a lot of heartache.

Much love to Barbara, Kath, Joan, and anyone I've missed.......Cate.x

    Hello all,

Been feeling very tired, and rather stiff and painful. Other than that I'm OK. The salt pipe has been helping my sinuses, but I still get sounds in my ears and head as though they are blocked. Not all the time, usually in the afternoon only.

Yesterday a letter arrived from one of my rheumy's colleagues on her behalf. It was a copy of a letter to my GP.
He said my ALT/AST has been erratic for 8 months and he thinks it is time to stop the Methotrexate for a couple of weeks, then do another blood test. Although he couldn't see a link between them. After this, they will decide whether or not to restart the MTX at a lower dose, or do further investigations!!! So I expect I shall get a letter from my GP to organise this. Not happy. :x

I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekends. Mig is planning some lovely trips. Toni has been rushed off her feet as usual, and Elizabeth is suffering with her itchy and sore eyes.

Sending big hugs to Cate, Joan, Christine, Barbara and anyone I've missed.

Ahhh I get you Barbara- she hasn't broken it again you were just meeting up. Its the way I read it. Yes I have chosen the glasses. I got down to 2 then had a vote in the shop and we all chose the same pair. I haven't collected them yet.
We have blackberry bushes but they haven't produced much fruit this year.

Lucy has a bad cold so might miss school tomorrow. Thats what you get mixing with thousands of new children! T will give me the chance to give her more movicol too.

Kath its just my skin that is itching terribly. It has to be the humira.
So they think MTX is causing you problems and want to eliminate it to see what happens? Is this connected with the liver?

Did I mention the neighbours are moving in. So far its been quiet apart from building work. Fingers crossed.

Cate I had my contacts on so could see what the frames looked like otherwise It would have been difficult. Luckily It didn't take me long to find a pair I liked. I still have to have the seal of approval from my Lucy though!

Toni it is great to get everything college wise sorted. Wish my boy would start to take an interest in things. I had to bail him out this morning as he was supposed to sort out sponsors for a project and had a a blank piece of paper!

Hope Joan, Sue and fur babies are well.

Applerose I read recently all about DNR but thought they were going to put a stop to it as there was such an uproar. Likewise the stopping all food and fluids...its horrendous. Don't want to get old.....

    Best wishes Elizabeth xxx

Morning all sunny at the min...
Elizabeth hope the itching is easing ...there is nothing worse..maybe your son will show more interest has time goes on, but it must be hard on you..hope the new neighbours stay quiet
And poor Kath having to stop her MTX for a few weeks..this must be so scary when they are working...hopefully they will restart it..glad to see the pipe is helping..I have glue ear because of it..
Cate..I know what you mean with glasses ..oh wears his all the time..and rely's on me to say if they are ok...when is your trip to the Cotsworlds..I do love it there but never stopped over..
We have two cats in the window because next door have gone to work...if we ignore them they run round the back... :o not a clue what today will bring..but Im making a cuppa first... :)

Just a quick visit to wish everyone well. where ever you are and however you are feeling. Having a bit of a downer today. A third member of my chemotherapy group has passed away peacefully at home, with her family around her. Scary for us survivors who wonder if or when it might be us.

Kath I am sure it won't be you any time soon! I do know how you feel - Lucy had her chemo today and the lad we are close to couldn't have chemo today due to an infection on his elbow :( He was given 2 months a month ago. He is 19.

BUT you and Lucy are doing just FINE :)

I hope Elizabeth's Lucy is feeling ok bless her and the movicol works  too. Glad your boy had some sponsors in the end even if it was courtesy of you!

Lucy is LOVING her training and can't wait to go in tomorrow - even if it is just MATHS!!!

I do hope the new neighbours are nice and the itching eases soon :(

Joan I am very sorry your ortho man didn't do feet :( You poor thing ((())) I hope though that him contacting the right one will speed it up for you xxx

Barbara we had a reasonable start, but rain by the time we got home from the QE. We went on the train again today, but soon the weather might be too rough :(

Did you let the pusskins in in the end?

Cate it was good to see you. Don't worry about me I am just fine and hope you are ok too ((()))

    Love to you all

I'm lazing around today, I think I needed it after first Daniel couldn't settle down and then Lucy wanted company as she was unwell.

I'm sure Barbara couldn't ignore the pusskins.

Kath so sorry to hear you have lost one of your chemo group. Terribly sad.

Toni my boy is making small progress but he needs a lot of support. we are starting to plan for the future (BTEC college)and he has become more independent lately so I'm proud of him. Its nice when things start to fall into place.

The good news is that Dan should get 2 respite nights a month! I thought I might get 1 every six months. He needs to be assessed by the staff first, even though funding has already been agreed but Social Worker doesn't see a problem.

thanks Joan itching has eased at last but still bad.

I've left some blueberry pie in the kitchen.

    Custard!!

I shall make some custard so we can have some blueberry pie!! Thanks Elizabeth :)

They do all grow up at their own rates and the BTEC sounds good for him :), but I am over the moon you have TWO nights off a month!! Woweee!!!! You won't know what to do with yourself!!!

Maybe whoever he has will take him out to the pictures sometimes or something so you can stay in with the others.

    Poor Lucy Get well Soonxxx

Elizabeth, hope Lucy's cold doesn't last long. I've got my fingers crossed your neighbours are quiet. So glad to hear that Dan is becoming more independent. I'm sure he will enjoy the BTEC once he gets there. Hope it all goes ahead for you to get the respite nights. Hope you manage to relax or get things done.

Joan, sorry you saw the wrong person. Hope you get an appointment with the foot man soon. Sounds as if you have bionic feet.

Barbara, there's no chance of me doing any gardening now before I go away as it's set to rain every day. Oh well never mind. Guess the things that need cutting back will have to wait till spring now. Bet your son had a great time at Drayton Manor.

Cate, I too wonder how you are supposed to see what your new glasses frames look like when you can't see.

Kath, it sounds as if the salt pipe is working for you. Sorry you are feeling so tired and stiff. Hope whatever you and your rheumie decide works for you. It is sad about your friend but at least it was peaceful and with her family. It must be worrying for you though but there are so many more survivors these days.

Toni, it's good to hear that Lucy is enjoying her course so much. Glad the chemo went well. Do you enjoy travelling on the train? How will you get to the hospital when the weather gets bad?

My youngest GD tired me out yesterday. She didn't stop jumping about or talking. It was quite funny. She has several doctor's kits already but yesterday morning they all went to a car boot sale and she spotted another kit and cried to get it. She did get it. When they got home, she sat on the floor and played with it for a while then closed the box and said she didn't want that one. She wanted a 'stuffin' one. (Doc McStuffin is a children's programme about a little girl who plays doctor to her toys). My son got one of her other kits, stuck a picture of Doc McStuffin on it and told her it was a McStuffin kit. Her eyes lit up, she put it on the floor and opened it. She stood looking at it for a minute, then shut the box and said , 'No it isn't.' No fooling them, is there? :sunny:

Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

Joan, bless you. I'm sorry you didn't get to see the 'foot man'. The person who arranged that appointment was a bit silly. Hope you get the right person next time. More waiting.

Toni, I'm so glad Lucy is doing well. I'm not usually too worried about these things, but just occasionally it jumps up and bites me in the bum (are we allowed to say bum on here?) :P

Elizabeth, I hope your itching skin is calming down a bit. I still get the odd night when mine bothers me a bit. You do have your hands full, but I hope you get yours and Dan's respite organised. Thank you for the blueberry pie with some of Toni's custard. :D

Christine, yes, the salt pipe is definitely having a good effect. I did laugh at your GD and the Dr Stuffin medical kit. Everything has to be exactly as they want it sometimes, doesn't it. She sounds lovely though.

mig, have a good trip to your sons. MMM, muffin and marmalade - yummy.

Barbara, hope your neighbour appreciates your help. Hope your day is good - sort of - too.

Thinking of you all and sending hugs.
