Well I did the usual ad lost my post so I'll try again.
Applerose at least you know what to buy your GD for Christmas if she can wait that long!
Barbara its lovely that you were there for your friend. A problem shared is a problem halved.
Dan will be staying on site overnight. I will of course worry at first, at least until he accepts it. He'll want to be left alone on his computer I expect, but obviously they will have to check on him. Lucy was perplexed at the thought of me eventually going out as its been years since I left her with anyone. I'll have plenty of places to go as my friends are all still out-and-about all the time, I'll just tag along.
Kath I am glad the pipe helps. Are you off mtx now?
Toni at least with the train you don't have to struggle with parking. Glad to hear Lucy loves it, even Maths (that was my achilles heel)!
It is pouring with rain today but a warmer front is on its way so it will be last chance to get the garden sorted. Our grass needs a cut but the tree is only partly cut up and still covered in apples.
Joan no mention of C******AS as I've only just got over last year.
Hope Mig has a lovely time visiting her Son.

Not yet Elizabeth. I'm waiting to be told what to do. Don't know who will write to me, GP or consultant. To be honest, my GP could ring me, so could the rheumy nurse. If rheumy writes to me, that will take about 6 weeks.
I think Emily is delivering more grub tomorrow afternoon. I know there's more Quorn stuff, but she hasn't told me what the rest is."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Mig, hope you have a great time at your son's.
Barbara, I'm sure the cats love coming to your house for their treats. Your poor neighbour. At least she felt a bit better after chatting with you. Hope it's not long till you get your mri results.
Kath, yes, little ones do like things just right. Who's been biting you on the bum? :swim-shark: I'm looking forward to seeing what Emily is cooking.
Joan, I'm glad you've got your appointment with the foot man.
Here you are Toni.
Elizabeth, I bet you can't wait for a night out with your friends. Lucy will soon get used to it. I'm hoping the weather warms a bit so I can get the grass cut if nothing else.
I couldn't believe it. I had terrible toothache the night before last. Managed to get an appointment yesterday. Turns out the root canal has got very narrow and killed off the nerve and got infected. So I'm on antibiotics for a few days and have a root canal filling to look forward to when I get home from Australia. Problem is, it's a crown which is supporting a bridge so I could lose that. Oh well, that's life. I went in to town this afternoon and managed to find some more kids' summer clothes in sales and some toys. Hope I don't need a bigger case. As you are all coming with me, maybe you could put some things in your cases for me. :sunny:Christine0 -

Hello everyone,
Ooh, Cakey Cakey. I'm not sure which one is my favourite, so I'd better just try them all. Kath, does Emily ever make anything - and I will eat anything - with salted caramel? I even put it on me Weetabix!
Not long now Christine. You must be so excited. I'm excited, and I'm not going!
I hope mig has got her best hat on, and has practised her curtsey just in case she comes across any royals.
Glam up Elizabeth, and get out there and forget everything for a few hours. No one deserves it more my love.
Barbara darlin, you've got paint on yer nose!
Now, a caramel macchiato, with my cake...cakes. I'll leave one ready for our Toni, she'll need it with all the running round. You know what though, I think she wouldn't have it any other way.
Much love to all......Cate.x0 -

Hello all.. I heard there was pie & custard so I headed this way.. and I'm sure the kettle could be persuaded to go on too..
Had my last bloods yesterday before my appt to switch meds, will wait & see what they are like (bloods) but you could poach an egg on my wrist at the moment so at least there's no doubt whether I'm inflammatory or not. (Which in the skewed world of symptoms etc is actually a good thing, takes away the 'don't know what's what' element).
Applerose if I stow away with you I can skip my appt altogether of course*goes to pack* will be in again before Tues to wave you off. Sorry you have dentist things before & after your trip, hope nothing 'plays up' while you're away.
Joan, 100 days to Christmas? Less, now I suppose? Oh dear what I thought! Must get a move on or the central heating man will be back & will see I haven't done any more DIY. Good luck for your foot appt later in Oct.
Talking of which.. Barbara will pitch in & help I'm surelovely smell of paint Barbara, ah, smashing. When I get my curtain pole up I can finish filling the old holes & do some painting of my own. "When", she says..
I do love to hear about your cat friends.
Sorry you have lost a friend & 'fellow', Kath.Tough news to hear. Hope you're ok. Thanks for stocking up the freezer again. If I have some Quorn sausage & mash, I can have the last of my few runner beans with it. Pic to follow sometime when I dig it out.
Good to hear you have had a better respite arrangement offered than you were expecting TKand I look forward to hearing about any future outings.
Talking of going out, I've been looking forward & waiting for a parcel coming from the US and of course it came in the 2 hours all week that I was out .. luckily they left it with my neighbour and they posted it straight back in my letterbox. However then I opened it and found that they'd only sent me 1 item when I ordered 2. I've had to get onto them but it's hard to prove and just getting a reply will probably be a battle in itself.
Hello to Cate, mig, frog, and any other callersxxxx

Hello my lovelies, hope all saw a bit of sun today. We certainly did, but then it spoiled itself and rained a bit. :x
Toady, kettle is on.I'm glad your blood tests are done, let's hope they get you sorted with meds that really help.
Barbara, chippy tea, lovely. Our chippy is quite a long walk away - which would be good if I could walk that far. Get rid of the calories before I eat more.
Joan, I can't shift this fatigue. Even though I had a reasonably good night last night and a bit of a lie in this morning. Hope you and Sue have a reasonable weekend.
Cate, you put your right leg in, your right leg out - oh no, that's the hokey cokey isn't it, not cakey cakey.I don't think Emily would use salted caramel in her cooking. Have you ever tried T***o packs of popcorn? The have sweet, salty, and sweet and salty. I love 'em.
mig, will we have to curtsey next time we see you? Have a right royal trip with your son.
Take care everyone.
Just checking."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hello everyone,
A bit sniffly today, so hitting the Beechams. I still find the old powders the best.
Barbara, we go away the last week in October. Definitely meeting up with younger son and his family. My other son is trying to organise for them to be there too, but said that if he can't, he will come home before then. Note the "he" and not "we". That is going to be one visit that will break both our hearts, because I need some honest answers. I don't normally wish ill to anyone, but in this case I'll make an exception, and hope Lady Karma steps in, in years to come, and his wife experiences this awful pain. Maybe then she'll understand.....too late.
I've bought an Ipad mini, which is sitting with the laptop I got, waiting for someone to sort out for me. I haven't a clue. My son said to take them with me in October, and he'll do them then. Good lad!
Thanks for the coffee Toni, and much love to all of you.....Cate.x0 -
Just missed our Kath there.
Yes, yes, yes......fourteen dozen please!!...x.0 -
Cate, consider it done.
I've been thinking for some time about karma, but didn't like to say anything."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Cate I bought a kindle when my Daughter came to stay and I had to get her to set it all up for me.
Toni Lucy had 2 days off with a cold but she seems okay now. Thank you for asking. OH yes she'll need those maths skills for the colour shading.
OH collected my glasses but they don't look the same as I remembered them so I'm going to have to go back and look at the pair I tried on in the first place. They were brown and gold, these seem too silvery! They don't feel the same weight, comfort and material either!!!
Barbara I love the sound of the bags. I put some pressies in bags last year and they looked nice enough. Are you still waiting for that big utilities cheque?
I am still getting things done. Today was lovely and sunny and we cut a bit more of the tree and bagged it up.The lawn can't be cut until it is out of the way.
Good luck Toady with the change of meds. I've been asked if I want to change too because of the coughs and colds I keep getting. I'm thinking about it. Shame that your delivery was messed up. I hate chasing things.
Kath fatigue is a pain and I'm sorry it is plagueing you.
Hope Joan is well. Its my faulkt I lost the post as I hit the enter button. I don't know why I keep doing that?
Looking forward to Mig's tales of Buckingham palace.
Take care

Hi everyone. Feel as if I haven't stopped for the last few days. Packed and repacked a dozen times. Went for tea at my son's yesterday. Spent this morning in town looking for a necklace for my daughter then this afternoon trying to help my son and dil. They want to sell their car and buy 2 smaller ones.
I'm quite upset with my boss. Yesterday I asked if he had sorted out my wages. Took him all morning then he gave me this week's in cash as usual and a cheque for the rest. That won't clear for a week. I had to tell him that the minimum age was going up while I was away but he didn't take that in to account so I asked him about a wage rise as I'd be on less than the minimum wage He said he thinks he is paying me a lot already so he'll have to cut my hours. And to think he didn't pay me at all for holidays for about the first 5 or 6 years I worked for him. I seriously need to think of getting another job.
Sorry I've not read back properly. Hope everyone is doing not too badly.Christine0 -

That's facebook that is!!! Enter posts your message  I am glad Lucy is better bless her.
I plan to go in the garden too today and make a mess for Paul to clear up!!
You must get the specs you like it's really important and as for your change of meds.....it really is worth thinking about that cough is too much xx
Kath - me too me too for the muffins!! Maybe the recipe too??? My Lucy loved baking before she got ill....
Cate - I am pleased to hear that make or break time is approaching. Karma had crossed my mind too and you know, your conscience is clear, you carry on doing what you are doing. Grandkids grow up in the end (I hope things get resolved before then) and will want to find out for themselves. She needs to be careful they will make their own minds up THEY are entitled to know you and she does not own them.
So sorry I can't believe I was so opinionated there, but I feel strongly about this issue.
Macchiato for you and Barbarasome do make them better than others - mine are of COURSE perfect
Barbara - Have you read Lucy's thread? Her new 'head' for hair practise is called Barbara - her choice!!!
I am glad you had your refund now! I am glad you have proven via the MRI that you still have infection. I hope they can 'up' the treatment accordingly
Oh ChristineI do not like the way your employer is treating you. I think he is taking the biscuit (you know what I wanted to type there don't you?). Start looking my girl and bank that cheque it will clear while you're away in-case you need any.
The problem with your packing is us lot keep getting in and making a mess of it
Hi Joan Thank you we did they brought their little yorkie with them (had to hide Daisycat in the spare room!). Had a good laugh which is always good for you. I hope you are all well too and the doggies are enjoying the sun
Love to Toady and anyone else I have missed
