I thought Emily was looking a bit peaky when she came to replenish our store cupboards. She and Campbell have both been ill. But she's on the mend now. She had acquired a food processor to help her with her veg prep, soups, smoothies, pastry making and anything else culinary. Hope she puts a photo on so I can see it.
Barbara, I store the non perishables in the spare back bedroom, and we have a very large fridge/freezer plus a chiller cabinet for drinks, so some of the more perishable stuff goes in there.
Joan, not too long now for your appointment, I hope you get to see the foot man this time.
Toni, sorry to hear Lucy has a cold. Not good for her at the moment.
My MTX injection yesterday made me feel ill, and it hurt too. Still no letter about when, if, and for how long I have to stop the injections for. Nor have I heard anything about my scan yet!!
Hope everyone has a good weekend, it's supposed to be reasonably nice weather for a while.

Hello everyone, hope all are as well as can be. Just a quick visit as I've been helping OH clear the back garden and we are both suffering. Started at 08.45 and finished about 12.15.
It was chilly first thing, but soon warmed up when the sun came out.

I've had a proper cough and sore throat with accompanying fatigue so missed most of this lovely weather as I had to stay in bed ( still had to get up at 6.30 for the kids though). At least I've been able to take it easy after they've gone.
I hope you are rested after your marathon gardening Kath.
Enjoy your days away to Llandudno Barbara. It might be a bit windy beside the sea-side.
Will be swatting up on PIP form filling in the coming days so might not have the energy to pop in often. Hope you will behave....

Hello all, apart from all your favourite stuff that Emily has delivered, she included this, and I thought some of you might like the recipe.
Easy Lemon Curd Layer Cake (Macmillan) Serves 12
Ingredients:
225g self-raising flour
2tsp baking powder
225g golden caster sugar
4 eggs
1 lemon, juice and grated zest
200g soft cheese
2 tbsp icing sugar, plus extra for dusting
1tbsp milk
100g lemon curd
Method
Grease and line the bases of 2 x 20cm cake tins. Preheat the oven to180 degrees 'C', gas mark 4
Place the flour, baking powder, butter, sugar, eggs and lemon juice and zest in a large bowl, and whisk for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
Divide the mixture equally between the tins, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and just firm. Leave to cool in the tins for a few minutes, then turn out and allow to cool completely.
Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat together the soft cheese, icing sugar and milk until soft enough to spread. Gently ripple this mixture through the lemon curd.
Using a breadknife, cut each section of the cake in half horizontally to give 4 layers. Use the lemon curd misture to sandwich the cakes together into a tall stack. Dust lightly with icing sugar to serve.
Enjoy.
Ron, I think you will find that better than anything T**co will sell.
Joan, I'm sorry you are having so much pain with your ankle. Hope it won't be too long before you get a new one.
Toady, I hope your visit to the rheumy went well.
Elizabeth, I'm glad you managed to get some rest to get over your cough and cold. Hope it's gone now. :?
Barbara, I'm so glad you are enjoying Llandudno. Is it too cold for a quick paddle?
Last time I saw my rheumy, I'd just come out of hospital after my chest infection. She suggested waiting for 3 months then change my steroid dose from 10mg every day, to 10mg every alternate day. I started that at the beginning of August, and carried on until the other day. It was horrible. My vasculitis came back and my lower legs were a violent red. All my itchy bumps came back. My RA is getting worse again too. So I'm more or less back where I started. So yesterday I went back to taking them every day in the hope that it will settle down again. I still haven't heard anything about when my rheumy wants me to temporarily stop MTX. If she's waiting until my next appointment with her, that isn't until the end of November, so she can't be too concerned about my liver. :?: :?: :?:
I still haven't heard anything about my CT scan either.
Hope everyone else is keeping well."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein
