Kath Lucy has codeine. She likes it, but has to have a small glass of prune juice - say no more
Toady fabulous to see you, but I am so sorry the humira has yet to work. Fingers still crossed.
Hi Joan chemo went fine...also epilepsy clinic. They are going to see if Lucy will be allowed to learn to drive :?
Barbara I want to come and see Baby in the nativity!!! I so want to see her!!
We went on the train for chemo this time, but won't be able to soon when the weather turns. Delayed quite a bit so late back.
Love and ((()))

Can't stop-drunk too much tea-but had a lovely weekend.
Daughter Charlie was 30 and my Niece had a baby girl Sunday. Congrats Applerose
Kath getting into bed can be a nightmare. I'm always shouting in pain. One night I couldn't get into the bed at all. I hope the codeine helps.
Fingers crossed that the humira will start working Toady.
Barbara these kerbs are designed to slow traffic down but often they are a hazard.
I couldn't find any advent calenders in the shops. They were all sold out so Daniel wasn't very happy. I bought him chocolate to compensate. Still not got a tree. I can't trust OH to choose one alone as he would choose the smallest and cheapest and I'm always fast asleep during the day.
Sorry got to go  Love to all

Good to see you posting Toady but don't worry if you don't feel up to it. Hopefully the humira will kick in soon.
Joan, my cough is almost gone now. Just a little tickle. I'm sure I read somewhere that Sue has the pot off her wrist now. Is that right? I hope so.
Kath, hope the codeine kicks in quickly and gives you some sleep.
Barbara, it was like spring here too today but the rain is coming down heavily again. I hope it isn't where those poor people live who have their homes flooded. I think they've had more than enough. How wonderful to be going to see the baby in a play. Will you be able to take pictures? Some don't like it.
Toni, glad the chemo and epilepsy clinic went well. Lucy is hoping to learn to drive? Fingers crossed. It's amazing how much the trains are delayed or cancelled in the winter these days. I'm sure they didn't used to be.
Elizabeth, happy birthday to Charlie and congratulations on the new baby. Hope you manage to get a nice tree.
Not a lot has happened today. Just work and I put the rubbish out for the bin men.Christine0 -
Morning all the sun is shinning but for how long I dont know
Elizabeth its good to see you..and Happy Birthday to your Charlie...hope you get the tree you want..that would be my OH..so we have the fake one now..hope you feel less tired very soon...
Toni Im glad to hear you went on the train..much easier on your back I think..but sorry it was delayed you cant win.. am looking forward to seeing the baby ..she is like her daddy our youngest son a bit detached..
Christine they allow pics thank goodness, I know our older GCs schools didn't you had to buy a cd glad you had the nice weather..
Just opened my 8th window on my advent calendar..better stoke up the fire before it goes out...

I see we're still waiting for the Christmas smileys, never mind, here's one to start things off.
Good news for Joan and Sue, the plaster is off Sue's wrist.
Barbara, my Codeine is the lowest dose, 15mg, and I haven't felt much benefit from it yet. Slept a bit better last night though, I stayed in my armchair in the living room. OH wasn't very happy, but it was a bit easier on my back and hips. Glad to hear your cough is finally going.
Toady, hope the Humira works for you.
Looking forward to Emily's delivery on Thursday, it somehow got out about the Christmas cakes and mince pies, so might as well tell you the rest:
smoked slamon and scrambled eggs
vegan blueberry pancakes
Christmas Kedgeree breakfast tarts
spiced roast goose
roast chicken with mixed mushroom stuffing
Nut roast
Pot roast pork
whole baked salmon in salt
Yule log
Stollen
chocolate and cherry cheesecake
almond tarts with figs
gingerbread house
salted caramel fudge
masses of mince pies, and of course those Christmas cakes, one with fruit and marzipan, one plain sponge with jam and cream, both iced and decorated."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Thanks mod JK
Kath Lucy has 15s and 30s we always try 15, but often 30 is what is needed. Glad you slept a little better and if te chair is easier for now that's what you have to do.
I LOVE kedgeree Thanks Emily
ElizabethHappy birthday to Charlie and congrats on being an Auntie again
(shan't say G***t one - you are far too young  ).
I hope you feel more energised soon ((()))
Joan I hope the doc gives her the go-ahead, but they are reducing her meds too....so she may have to wait a little longer. She'll be a natural though
Barbara you take photos girl and a wee video too if you can, but make sure you enjoy it yourself as well
We like the train to be honest, but it might get too cold soon I fear
Christine I agree trains are often late nowadays. Not a major problem, but we missed our connection so were a little late for chemo, but they don't mind
Oh thanks for reminding me - it's recycling bins tomorrow for us
It's Lucy's 18th tomorrow so I have been busy - ordered a lovely helium balloon for her.
I will post photos on our thread after tomorrow's meal out
Love

Happy 18th birthday tomorrow for Lucy! Is she having a big party. My Daughter seemed to have had a great-weekend. As so many are turning 30 they each get to choose where they gather as a group.
I'm trying to work out what detached means Barbara . Does that mean your Son would stare into space? Was he the little boy who missed his lines and had to be elbowed back to reality? Still haven't got an advent calendar and I suppose it is too late now.
Applerose have you got to work a lot over Christmas?
Kath hope you get some rest.
Joan so glad Sue is on the mend. Hope the weather is not too bad your way?
Best wishes

Aw, Barbara, poor baby being a bit detached like her dad.
Have a lovely time tomorrow at the play. I used to love watching my kids. Haven't seen any of my GC in a play as they are only allowed 2 tickets.
Joan, I am pleased for Sue. My dad seems quite well. Thanks for asking.
Kath, glad you got some sleep last night. Maybe not the best place to sleep in a chair but better than in a bed and getting no sleep. Ooh, all that lovely Xmas food. I like the way Emily throws the food in the air as she's cooking.
Thanks Mod JK. It's nice to have a Xmassy forum.
Toni, I put my recycle things out last night then realised it's not this week so had to carry them all back round to the back garden. Happy birthday to Lucy for tomorrow. Hope she has a great day.
Elizabeth, glad your daughter had a good weekend for her birthday. You might still be able to get an advent calendar at half price now. Not sure what I'm working over Xmas as I don't have any holidays left. I'm supposed to use a holiday even for Xmas Day but doubt my boss will want me cleaning up round them while they are eating their Xmas dinner.
More heavy rain here today. Mostly while I was at work but I got soaked walking round the corner from one bus stop to the next on the way home from T*sc*. The self-service checkout jingled at me when I told it I was using my own bags and again when I scanned my card. Then when I'd finished, it wished me a merry Xmas. Put a smile on my face.Christine0 -

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing ok, just popped in for a quick cuppa.
I am soooo paying for having had an appointment free week last week!!
This week, Monday rheumy. Tuesday occupational health. Today and tomorrow free apart from the nervous tension building up. Friday nice start with hairdresser at 9am, but THEN 10.30 sickness absence meeting so have to hoof it along from hairdresser to the office at the other end of the street.
Was hoping to do a bit Christmas shopping on Friday but I think that will use up all my walking about time and I'll be too knackered. Why cant they just leave me in peace to finish my sick leave.
OK mustn't rant, must just relax and chill. So nice cup of tea and something tasty to nibble.
Getting very very windy here just now. Last forecast I saw was saying 40 to 50mph winds. I think I'm already a slate short of a roof. There was one on the ground the other day very close to where our car is usually parked.
Hope everyone else is having a quieter week.
Love to all

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCY XXX
Slomo, what a busy week for you. Take a deep breath, have a nice big cuppa, and some of Emily's mince pies.
Christine, Emily uses cooking and baking as an aerobic exercise, she has very strong arms.
Toni, I usually take 2 Codeine, so 30mg each time really.
Barbara, I slept in bed last night. Not very comfortable, so I might be in the chair again tonight. :?
Thanks Mod JK, looking forward to the Christmas smileys.
Joan we had sun today, but there was a very cold wind.
Hope everyone has had a good day."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Barbara, I stayed in bed all last night, most of it laying down. Although between 3-4am I had to sit on the edge of the bed and do a few stretches. But I've been very twitchy and achy today. I sometimes wonder if some of my back pain (especially the spasms) isn't caused by trapped nerves and I've been looking at Pregabalin, and the other two. Depends on what the doc says on the 21st. I just wish she'd told me what the X-ray showed up - if anything. :? I was reading on Arthritis Research UK that Osteoarthritis doesn't always show up on -rays. I don't know how you coped before your THR ops. Hope everyone is enjoying the mince pies and other Christmas food.
