Barbara, I think I could open a card making shop. I've been collecting bits and pieces to make my own cards for about 3 years now and have only ever made 1 card. I remember my mum too did the same things on the same days every week, including meals. Glad you and Niamh enjoyed your carvery. It's amazing how much they can eat at times. Hope your GD's brace can be fixed or will she need a new one? Hope the blood tests turn out ok.

Joan, work is going ok this week thanks. I haven't started another puzzle yet. I decided to sort through my mam and dad's photos and get them scanned. It's taking quite a while as I sit remembering and it takes a couple of minutes to scan each one.

Kath, cutting your dial-a-ride is terrible. It's always the people who need these things that lose them. It's ok for them. They have the money to pay for taxis everywhere if they need to. Your poor DN. It must be awful spending the day in wet clothes. I bet he was glad you were ready to open the door for him.

Toni, 3 a hour round trip. That must be most of your day gone by the time you get home. I don't think I would mind a squirrel burying his nuts in my garden. It would be lovely to see him. Hope Paul managed to get Lucy's meds ok. Your house looks lovely. I'm sure it will sell quickly.

Today, I decided it was time for my GD to work for her keep. She helped make some play dough and then she washed up her toy cups and plates. She was soaked by the time she had finished (and made scrambled eggs with the bubbles for her mum) so I had to dress her in a pyjama t-shirt of mine while I dried her top.

It was on our local news last night that a 100 year old lady had a total knee replacement at our local hospital. She is now walking pain free. Also someone has invented an operation where they take stem cells from the hip and inject them in to a joint. The stem cells reproduce to make a cartilage type material which cushions the joint. It showed a man who had it done and he was walking pain free.

You can pm me the house link Toni.

I'm playing Nurse at the moment but generally I've been much better although not well enough to attend a 50th birthday party as arranged. But I didn't mind.

Just hope everybody is doing okay

Joan, today has been quite good. Work was quite easy and I had a lovely walk home in the sunshine. Hope you managed to get out in the sun.

Barbara, I'm sure everything will go well at the pre-op. And it will all be over before you know it. You are doing very well with your jewellery making. I think the leather bracelets is a good idea. Thanks for the crumble and custard. Yummy.

Elizabeth, I'm glad you are feeling much better now. Just as well you didn't mind not going to the party.

It's been a lovely sunny day here today if a little cold. Friday tomorrow then the weekend. Must attempt to finish sanding my bathroom windows on Saturday. Won't get much done on Sunday as my son and his wife are taking me and my dil's parents out for lunch.

Barbara, they keep threatening us with snow but it hasn't arrived yet. Thank goodness. Aaw, hope Niamh had a good play in the snow and didn't have to go in to nursery too soon. There really is no need for thanks. We're all here for each other. If I look at the bottom of the posts while I'm reading them (before I click reply), I can see a private message button. I'm using Edge. Wonder why some can see it and some can't.

Joan, I'm planning on pottering in the house tomorrow and going out for lunch on Sunday. Hope you have a good weekend.

Toni, good to see you've got a few viewings. Hopefully it won't take long to sell.

Kath, ow. That sounds painful. Hope you don't find it difficult to sit down.

Just had it confirmed that the Flying Scotsman will pass through our town next Thursday evening. Just have to decide where to go to watch it pass by. I could get a close up view at the railway station 10 minutes walk away but it would look fantastic going over our viaduct 10 minutes in the opposite direction. Mind you someone said it was coming back over a couple of weeks later so might get to do both.

    Morning everyone :)

We are off to look at a house soon super-early!

Still at least there's no snow

Christine I reckon it's just a matter of format that some can see. I can just see the top on IE all of it on Firefox, but all my favourites are on IE and it is useable for me.

The flying Scotsman eh? Wow!! That will be amazing :)

Kath - 'they' do know about the numbness don't they? I just want to make sure. I hope things ease back a bit for you soon ((()))

Hi Joan :) I hope you also have a good weekend planned. We have two people looking at our house tomorrow - help!!

Barbara we had snow - as I was having to pick Lucy up from College and I am scared of driving in it! I managed though :)

I hope your Ggirls had fun :)

    Back later

    Toni xxx

We'll probably see slomo today I reckon - anyone heard from toady???

Toni, glad you managed the drive in the snow. I'd hate it. How did it go with the house you went to view?

Joan, hope the family recover quickly and you don't get the bug.

Joan, have you had any snow? Someone went for a walk round out town at 6.30 this morning. They said it was sleeting before they got home but there was nothing to see by the time I got up.

Decided to stay at home today as snow was threatening although I didn't see any. I managed to finish sanding the bathroom windows and even put an undercoat on. Spent quite a bit of time scanning photos again. Not too many more to do.

Hope all our missing friends are ok and not in too much pain.

    Good morning everyone :)

    Barbara
I really hope you don't get the bug so close to your pre-op that would be a disaster. :?

I have never seen the flying scotsman myself, but would love to and go on the Orient express too.

I drove in the snow Barbara and Christine because it was to rescue Lucy from Stafford so I absolutely HAD to!

The house was wonderful! but a house! Still we could always get a stairlift if needs be?? It was ADORABLE!!! Oddly enough in the dec/jan between Christmas and new year 2013/14 when Lucy was getting ill...we had started looking and Paul found this very house! He loved it then, but the timing was off of course we got busy.

The new owners have been transferred down south for work. Oh yes and there's a cat-flap for Daisy! and one of those 'country' doors with a top and bottom that opens...fields to 3 sides? Need I say more?!

Christine did I say I sanded and painted my bathroom before any viewings? I got some 4 hour drying paint and it is 4 hours!!

Joan it is hard, but I think this house may be the one which I would be very upset if it goes....

    Love to you all

Tidying and cleaning for our two viewings here this morning now

Joan I have told the mods about the PM button so hopefully it will return..hope you have this sun and have been out on your scooter :)
Christine our snow was short lived thank goodness..see you are getting there with painting... and the scanning I think I had better make a start of the ones my brother didn't do..
Toni I think you always know when an house is right..especially when you walk through the door :D hope you get it if its the one for you...think we might end up with a stair lift instead of moving..saying that Lucy will be fine when she has a new hip..
we have just had Niamh here and youngest son..they say they are ok now to visit after the bug,..I hope so... :o I had to make her a picnic to get her to eat...the things we do anyhow got it down her..

Hi everyone, finally made it in!
I don't seem to be getting on very fast today but never mind, had nothing much planned anyway and one 'delay' was youngest son phoning to wish me happy mother's day, expect eldest son will phone this evening.
Have been popping in for quick read of posts but that brings it's own problems. Someone, I think it was Barbara, said they'd had hail stones but my quick reading read that she was half stoned!! Oops! Sorry Barbara. Good luck for tomorrow.
Toni, good luck with the house hunting, sounds like you've quite fallen for this one. Maybe it's been waiting on you.
As for trains, a few years ago me and OH were lucky enough to have a day out on the Northern Belle, ( one of the ' sisters' of the Orient Express) it was sooo good and the food was amazing, worthy of a top class restaurant, and as for the loos! Beautiful. And every time we left our seats we came back to find the cushions all lovely plumped up again. It was great, really put me wrong for traveling on regular trains.
Christine, your so energetic, takes me all my time to vacuum the carpet never mind painting and decorating, hope it goes to plan
Kathleen hope your pain is easing, it sounds horrid, you poor thing.

I'm on tea duty tonight as OH is working, so I better start getting organised. He played ' knight in shining armour' on Wednesday when he collected me from the bus stop. I'd been waiting for an hour cos there had been an accident on the road and it had delayed traffic. He'd got home and phoned me to see where I was and came and got me and brought me home. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He has his moments!

Love to everyone, apologies for missing some of you
    Take care all

Toni, I would love to go on the Orient Express. It'd be wonderful. Oooh, this house sounds like it's the one. I'll keep everything crossed for you. Wow, it's taking me forever and I've only sanded and undercoated 2 windows. Still got the top coat to do.

Joan, you've had no heating? You poor things. Hope you haven't been too cold. Have you had it fixed yet?

Barbara, how lovely to get flowers. Orchids are beautiful. Glad your son and Niamh are better now. Hope she enjoyed her picnic. Hope all goes well tomorrow with the pre-op.

Slomo, good to see you in here again. So Barbara's been half stoned? You kept that quiet Barbara. Ha ha. Wow, you've been on the Northern Belle. It sounds absolutely wonderful. I wouldn't want to go on a regular train again either. Don't know about me being energetic. I only do about a half hour of work at a time at home before I need a break. I think I'm very lucky though. How lovely of your OH to be so concerned for you.

I had a lovely day. Spoke to my daughter this morning then went out for lunch with my son and his family and his wife's parents. Then back to my son's house. My youngest GD played out Cinderella with Grandma. It was so funny. She had on her Cinderella outfit. One way it was a princess outfit. Turn in inside out and it was a Cinders outfit and she got her cloth out and started cleaning everything. Grandma was the wicker stepmother and told her to get all the jobs done or she wouldn't go to the ball. She did the jobs then went to the ball to dance with the price, her daddy.

    Ah Christine!

What a lovely story your little GD played there (you are definitely not a wicked stepmother though - that's me ;) ), enchanting and so sweet her Daddy was Prince Charming - long may that last :)

Sounds like you have had a good Mother's Day.

I did too with a present and card from Tia (lambing at her university), and Charley and Lucy cooking my dinner! It was like Christmas - you name it it was cooked!!

Slomo - a lovely tale of you OH rescuing you in nasty chilly weather :) Good you can still feel fuzzy :):)

    Imagine our Barbara stoned!!

Oh you've made me want to go on the Orient Express even MORE now!!! I need my pillows plumped up for me!!

Good to hear from you and hope your bones are behaving ATM.

Barbara - you were also treated for Mother's day :) Niamh is probably not 100% yet if she's lost her appetite a bit.

When my two were little we had a fairy tree in our back garden. I used to make tiny sandwiches on dolls plates and put them under with bites out of them. I also made fairy footprints in the house using a doll's foot and glitter

I think I might have been MAD!!

Thinking of you at the pre-op today and hoping all goes well.

Joan :) NO HEATING??!!! That's terrible :( Talk about bad timing it was far too cold for that.

Did I mention our boiler got condemned the other day due to the grill being cracked and the (remote) possibility of a bird flying into the fan!!!

We uncondemned it as we had viewings here :?
