Joan - we're ok it is the hot water that was playing up so when the boiler-man went he tipped us the wink that it was ok to switch it back on so we did!

I am very pleased to hear that you are warm enough too :)

Kath very wise to book your transport ready. I very much hope the appointment is a positive one too. Thank you I am not so bad at all and Lucy's shoulder is rested from the weekend.

Barbara your suspicion is quite right about our Cris (skezier) influencing Tia. She has helped her with her shearing more than once!!

I am pleased to hear that you are all set to go on the 17th. I hope your back is happier once some of the pressure is taken off of it :?

    Love

Toni, I wasn't the wicked step mum. It was her other Grandma. Glad you had a lovely day too. Lovely of the girls to cook dinner and a present and card from Tia. How wonderful of you making signs that the fairies had been. My Grandad used to take me in to his back garden when there was a mushroom ring and tell me that the fairies used them as tables and chairs when they had a party. I believed every word. Who's to know if the boiler was uncondemned. Can you replace the grill yourself?

Joan, I'm glad your heating got fixed quickly. It's the wrong time of the year to be without it.

Kath, I'm sure you will have a good appointment when it comes round. Good idea to book things in advance.

Barbara, bet you're glad that bit's over. I think they always tell you the worst that can happen but it usually isn't that bad. The wicker stepmum. Ha ha, reminds me of that film where they build a huge wicker man and put the man in it before they burn it. Can't remember his name but he is a famous actor. Just googled it. There were a few versions but I saw the 2006 version with Nicholas Cage. I'd better not let Grandma know. Sounds as f you had a good day too having your dinner cooked.

    Evening all :)

    Good news!!!!!!!!!!!

    Well I hope so.

We have had an offer at the full asking price :)

Obviously the estate agent now likes to ensure they have the necessary funds in place before advising we accept, but.........

Yes it is Elizabeth's birthday today

Mig, veg pasta bake sounds lovely and all that cheese and garlic bread. Yummy. Enjoy your trip to Glasgow.

Joan, my eyes are just the same. They feel a little better after I use a warm cloth on them and I think the glasses help a little. Thanks. Hope you and Sue are having a good week.

Barbara, an epidural sounds like a good idea. I'm sure they will use some sedation. I see you're keeping busy with your jewellery. You'll have to post some pics.

Toni, that's wonderful news. I think checking the funds is usually just a formality so won't be long now before you move. Have you decided for definite which house you are going for? Happy birthday to Charley for tomorrow.

Elizabeth, happy birthday. I hope you've had a lovely day.

I'm watching The Secret Life of the Zoo. There is a rhino who lost her baby 6 months ago and has been depressed since then and just lay in the corner. They have just managed to get her interested in a male rhino. :D

    Thanks both :)

This time 21 years ago I was in Stoke hospital with kidney failure...(pre-eclampsia) and they were helicoptering in some 'stuff' £200 worth. It didn't work so at 8.14pm Charley was born two and a half months early :)

Christine are they hoping the Rhino will get pregnant again?

We know which house we would like, but there is already and offer on it.

    Fingers crossed eh?

Joan, that sounds like the best way to have an op.

Toni, that must have been very scary and here Charley is 21. Hope she's had a lovely day. Yes they are hoping the rhino will have another baby to help her get over the one she lost. I've got my fingers crossed you get your house.

Barbara, am I right that it's Chester Zoo? I went there once about 6 years ago. Looked like a good zoo. Have you been? I haven't tried the Ov*n Pr*de but my boss dd. He was very impressed with it.

It rained non stop today so we stayed in. I must have wrapped my GD up with a fleece to make a present about 30 times today. I had to be the wicked stepmother while she was the Handsome Prince and we argued about who should have Cinderella at our castle to do all the work. The Prince said I could have her for some days and he would help her with the jobs, one of which was ironing the teddies.

Sorry to begin this post with a moan. But I can hardly walk or even stand. Still not sure if it's a bursa or just sciatica, but the pain in the right side of my bottom and hip is dreadful. As I keep taking Paracetamol every four hours on top of the patches and oramorph, it gradually eases towards bed time. But I don't take anything through the night so in the morning it is really bad. I'm hoping I can last until April 18th when I have my appointment, otherwise I'm afraid it will be a 999 job. Roll on five weeks time.

Mig, your kitchen must smell fantastic. I think it's an accident most of us have had from time to time. :o

Barbara, your OTs are on the ball. I think an epidural makes the recovery period less of a trial. Won't be long before it's all done and dusted. d030.gif

Christine, I can't think of anyone LESS like a wicked stepmother than you. :?

Toni, how exciting. I'm glad you had an offer for the full asking price. :D

Joan, hope your patches are working for you.

Oh Kath I am sorry, is there no one you can get through to before April its such a way off..sometimes these pain meds just dont do the job, I know I have to tweak mine..sometime the paracetamol works on it own sometime it has to be co-codamol..hope you get some help soon..and yes it will soon be overwith for me..the epidural is much better than the general
Joan...pony club must have been brilliant at 21..every girls wish more or less... :) I had a toilet frame and seat last time and took it back silly really I should have kept hold saved them coming back..my youngest son has just gone been to pick up his cards and present..41 he is...  and our middle GD is 15 tomorrow..

Joan pony club camp!! Charley, Lucy and Tia would all love that!

Kath I am so sorry you are struggling. Thing is is it sleeping, lying down, your bed or lack of extra pain relief causing your back to be worse upon waking??

The food looks great! I am going for the butternut squash soup and a traditional Eccles cake :)

    YUM!

Barbara we love Chester zoo too! Charley's OH has bought tickets for there as one of her 21st pressies :)

Keep up the arnica if it helps you. I used it after my back op too :)

Thank you everyone. Today is a bit better, at least I can stand upright and walk a little. Perhaps the damp weather made things worse. I'm thinking of getting a new walking stick - or perhaps two. Those with arm rests. Anyone who's tried them, what do you think? :?

    Hi all,
Hope everyone's doing OK, I know I'm going to miss some of you and be behind the times with some of what's going on so I'll just say sorry now and get that out the way, I am thinking of you all and wish you all well.
Now: food! The soups sound great Kath, the smoked haddock one sounds a bit like Cullen Skink I do like my soup so I'll have some of that. Some Persian lamb and chocolate pear should round it all off nicely.
Kath Im glad you're feeling a little bit better hope it continues.
Mig, have you managed to rid of your bubbles now, bet the place smelled amazing!
Toni, hope things now progress smoothly on the house front, it's great you got the asking price.

Off to make some real food now (having just stuffed myself on virtual food!!)

    Love to all

    Blimey mig!!!!!!!!!

That is a lot of money. My husband likes to stick a bottle of wine in the suitcase to take with us!!

Hello Slomo - don't you worry we won't be offended if you don't get on most days it's easy to loose track.

I hope the week at work has gone well for you.

Sadly my house hunting isn't going well. The one we wanted has been taken - they weren't in a chain and made a good offer too. :( Ah well - back to the starting block!

Kath - I think a new pair of sticks is a good idea. I have two and use one when all is well :) I am relieved to hear you are a little better. Lucy has crutches form the hospital, which she 'doesn't need' so she says. If I use one of them it REALLY helps so might be an idea?

Barbara your hair looks lovely :) I have mine booked in for just before we go away :) Are you feeling organised? I hope so. You know we'll be right there with you.

Sadly someone made a good offer who wasn't in a chain so we lost that house :( Ya boo :(

Lucy's appointment is for April fool's day thank goodness :)

Joan thank you Charley had a lovely day. I hope all is well with you all and you have some sunshine :)

    Love
