Hi Toni, good to hear that Cris is ok and coping with everything the elements are throwing at her. Looked awful on the news last night.

    Take care Cris.

    HI You Wonderful People,

That was rough and Wonky where is the ark with ski's and built in mud extractor  Miss L legs has been busy baring at all this mud! Oh mud.... so much mud!

I'm lucky I up high but the water table is so high the rain couldn't soak in so had a good 3 acres of lake and the barn and what was left of the shed was flooded but the wind... now that wind was some scary..... not good or the bones being that tense for so long....

Anyway I swapped the lake for squelching horrible ankle deep mud... I tell you walking in mud like this isn't good and every bone I have is angry with me......

The car well it looks like its gone through a mud course, which of course it has... the gateway is really bad... time the lodgers left me thinks.... Need some frosts ( Iris if you have any spare send them down please)

I lost the roof a few years ago to a wind that was also riding a 10+ so it was a long night..... It was a bad wind! Side on and very horrible!

Went into town cus a mate of mine needed a bit of help and Louise it was quite something and think the market will def be shut come the weekend....

There are so many of you here and my thanks to you all, especially those of you who have kept in touch by text and well Toni your right... its quiet emotional to see all you lot here.....

You all take care and a cure for mud would be most welcome

I live in a swamp for a few feet every winter but this.... this is fields of swamp that ain't going to dry out for a long time..... Had the sheep been home they wouldn't have stayed dry.... that's something to bare in mind eh?!

Special ((( )))'s to you Lose and glad it missed you but that was some wind, this is some open and you know what I don't think it could every sell it....:lol: I saw it on a lovely sunny day and had no idea what winter was like :lol: Its too high and too open actually

Love to you all a worn out mug soaked hurting and so tired Cris :lol::lol: xxxx

Get thee to bed woman - NOW! I honestly do not know how you manage. I hope that all is calm weather-wise, and that you do get some decent rest tonight. Please, skezier, forget other humans for the time being, just work on and with yourself, and give yourself the care you need over the next few days. Thinking of you. DD

Oh flower easy to say but not to do.. not with this one.... It got bad just down the road and when you know people... mind I was out paddling in knee high water clearing the drains.... you know the highways have been cutting money in the wrong way!

I have to say I feel for Lostwithiel... Meva as well.... Tell you the Fowey is a big river... and tidal.....

You ta care and I so ache... I struggled with the hay bale today big time and the mud... DD the mud its worse than walking in sand.... and it ain't going anywhere any time soon....

Hey hope your ok? Brace your self now.... (((((((((( )))))))))) and love Cris xx

    HI Cris

sorry didn't get on earlier to let you know that littlelegs insisted on waiting until AFTER tea to set off with the ark   ....... can't think why can you? ..... it should arrive soon, unless the wind blows her up to Iris instead :lol::lol::lol:

until then please accept some buckets of 'mud-freeze' and 'anti-ache' along with a bath-full of 'sleep-in-a-bed' because I think that's what you need right now

sleep well & I hope that all is well for you in the morning.

............and still it rains cus there ain't enough water out there yet!!

Oh sorry...... nice head is in the swamp :lol:

    Hi Berty,

Your so right flower waling in mud... you have to forcibly pull your legs out in parts...not here that's at the sheep.....

I getting so swollen and know the bones are unhappy.... never mind... soon have frosts.....

You take care and Hi to Mr Berty as well. (((( )))) and love the two headed cheesed off swamp monster :lol: xx

    Hi Louise,

Was helping shift some stuff to the tip yesterday in S Road in St B..... not good eh? All down to the drains..... well there was a huge volume of rain so maybe if they had been working properly it would still have done it?!

I was kinda pleased that by some miracle W.B the forage people didn't get flooded...... they were so lucky and saved by railway line so at least the hay hasn't got wetter (half the hay this year was baled wet  ) and hasn't gone up again! See somethings are very important :lol:

You just mind you don't get a slide over there./... mind as far as I know none of out tips have ever done that? Far more stable than coal eh?!

Hope our feeling ok? I have been thinking of you.. and looking your way at the light clouds and hoping your out there on the bellows :lol::lol:

You take care flower and sending you a ((((( ))))) and a hope your feeling much better and that cap is holding on the hole? Love the swamp monster who is slightly calmer than when it came in  xxx

    Hi Julie,

Oh I don't cope flower.... not with this mud.... I was heaving a bale across to the sheeps last night, through calf deep mud and muck, being mugged by the calves who seemed to think it was theirs and then the bull got iffy, I mean iffy..... he also got a quick lesson in manners cus he has got horns and they are iffy creatures really.... then I heaved the bale through the broken window (see some good in that going  ) and just burst into tears.....

The sheeps did their mummy i sad thing and I left feeling a bit better but you know what I made a commitment and will carry it through or die trying...... not sure what odds you'd get for that just now but do know one of the sheep is running a book  Got to be careful though cus daisy cat will confirm she doesn't always pay out :lol::lol:

A ((((( ))))) and a hope your ok and that leg is at last healing? xx

    Hi Toni,

Send sun! Send sun urgently...... please...... I'll do you ironing :lol::lol: (((( )))) and a cuppa with side ...! xxx

The force of the elements makes us realise how powerless we are against them. Glad you kept onto your roof this year!! No wonder your joints are protesting loudly - all that extra work and the effort to squelch through acres of mud. Like you say if it got colder at least the mud would harden. Be careful either way as it must be very slippery.

So are the lodgers in different accomodation at the mo?

Rest up as much as you can and keep warm.

    Hi Speedy,

No they are still here cus their winter fields are also flooded... they must leave soon cus they are all churning up the wet and making it an even bigger swamp..... I did say they were to go in November so he does know..... like that will make him move them.....

I will then worry about them till they come back.... can't win sometimes can you?!

I really have juts had enough flower... but well down, really hurting and getting more useless by the second! Oh pass me a violin and smack me across the head.....

Hope your okish and leaving you some spoons. Cris xx

    Hi Julie,

All finished tonight except feeding the eyes in the hedgerows a bit later.

There are fireworks going off out there.. through Eden was shut till the weekend..... obviously not..... unless it was something they had booked and wasn't in the bioms.....still noisy though

Thanks for the hugs and some winging their way back to you as well as a cuppa. xx

And more rain..... Gets into your bones this wet..... never mind a friend of mine has just sent me a wonderful full moon reflecting on a river so I can 'see' that for a while and know the frosts will come... just not sure how much swamp I shall have by then.....

Oh ta for the wellies, I am still wearing the ones I stood on the nail in and by some miracle they don't seem to be leaking... the foot is itching and I wish I could juts see my sole :lol: The penicillin has stopped any infection I think... not done much else though but viruses don't respond to it.....

    You all take care

    Hi Marion,

I think I will have to do that soon  I kinda at breaking point.. its just mud and it doesn't sound much does it.... Is everywhere, on the roads, on pavements and trashed hedges and banks...though thankfully mine have held :D

Stupid things are making me cry  I put bedding in the barn and opened it for the horse a while back and it flooded so now have to dig it all out... its shavings and soaking and heavy going... one wheel barrow and I am back in here baling my eyes out... I am so useless juts now and don't seem to be able to fight back......

Hey I'm sorry i just winging and must learn to get the s and the t the right way around...... hands are bad as well......so the eyes and not for the first time I kinda glad i didn't become a vet with access to special blue drugs.......

Marion you come out the door off the step into 4" of water for about 8'... mud under it of course..... then there is a good 40' of mud, another deep puddle a good 5' wide, back into mud to the hens house...... I wont even start to describe the other fields :lol::lol: Just ( the right way round!!) every step you take has squelching water under it...... I am so tired and still it rains!

You take care flower and leaving you a ((((( ))))) the swamp monster who is feeling sick cus it comfort eat a cream and jam sandwich :lol: serves it right and what diet is actually on :lol: xx

    Hi Cris,
So sorry you have had to go through all this. What frightening night for you; and now you have to contend with the aftermath.
Sticky deep mud to contend with, oh Cris what a mess. Have you got any wood or branches to lie down outside your doors?
Not a lot I can say to make things better for you. Sending you loads of very gentle hugs.
