I'd just like to thank everyone on here thats been supportive and given me lots of words of encouragement, DD, Linda, Barbara, Speedy, Chris, Elizabeth and any others I may have missed.

As most of you know, I'll be going in tomorrow for my ankle fusion and the support on here has been paramount in keeping my spirits up and ensuring I look towards after the op and not on it itself.

I will admiit the nerves are really kicking in now but by this time tomorrow, hopefully I'll be in recovery and on my way to a pain free life.

Again, thanks for all your support. This forum and the people on it are so kind and helpful I don't know what I would have done if I didn'y find it.

See you all again in a few days.

Many Many thanks.

Rob

It will all be fine. Keep your eye on the prize, the final goal - a better life. Not much wrong with that. It may take a while to get there and some effort too, but what a result! DD

Aw bless, don't ee worry Rob

Modern day operative and post operative analgesia is so perfect that you'll come round in the recovery room and think to yourself "Well what was that all about? Bit of a walk in the park so it wuz  "

If you're worried about giving yourself the Clexane injections for a couple of weeks...well don't be  If the needles were any thinner it'd be like trying to stick a hair into your tummy I promise!

As for not being able to shimmy about for months, that's a load of cobblers. I'll have a bet with you than within 3 weeks you'll be walking "around the block"

Sending you my very best for the op, I'm having mine on Wednesday and to be honest I'm quite looking forward to all the kind care and pampering one gets  xxx

Hi Rob, you are almost on the right side off the op now - by tomorrow evening you will be focusing on recovery.

Get organised and then spend the rest of today doing something enjoy.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Hi Rob, I wish you well for tomorrow. I must admit I feel nervous too as your op is similar to mine but you are my guinea pig.
Good luck and hope to hear from you soon. I am sure it will be over before you know it and then it is just recovery time.

You are all done now, and probably on a ward with an assorted bunch of odd human beings - and I mean ODD. (Or is it only me that ends up on a ward full of nutters?) Good luck for tonight - a good night's sleep in hospital? You are having a bubble! DD

Morning Rob, I hope all is well. It'a about 7.45 which means you wil have been 'awake' since at least 5.30, had your pills and your breakfast and are now sitting there waiting for the eternity of time before the tea trolley comes round (and the nice ladies with the paper and sweeties trolley!) I hope you are OK and not in too much discomfort. DD
