Hi Cris, thanks for the gourmet pate, Izzy eats better than we do!!!! She will definitely keep curling up beside you now!!!

I know how you feel about the collar, i was suggested one for my spondylosis whilst it was flaring and I couldn't get comfy in it at all. I think my neck is kind of misshapen. None of us like to be restricted in any way shape or form.

However, for example wrist splints really help to get things done. These gadgets are enablers to enable us to get on with life. Talk honestly to the OT about how you feel and see what they come up with, they may suprise you.

Sending you extra strength, some calming and strengthing, positive, hopeful vibes and lots of love x x x

Oh we know, skezier. Believe me we know! This quarantine place will have to be like Fort Knox to keep you in. So will the brace. You know, I'm hoping it won't be as bad as you fear. They improve on these things all the time and get more strength and support with less weight, bulk & hassle. When I first had night wrist splints they were just plaster of Paris held on with crepe bandages. When I turned over I nearly knocked Mr SW out. maybe you won't need to wear it all the time and there'll still be the opportunity to build up the muscles. I'm hoping big hopes for you.

Right then, Mr SW's new fleece is dark brown and kind of shaggy so he looks like a cuddly bear and I keep mistaking him for Haz. I'm not sure whether that's good or bad but he gets a few extra hugs. So, I've a lot spare to pass on to you so I've stuffed a big wodge of hope and a fair few soothing drafts & bars of CDM for emergencies in the middle. Here goes. ((((((((((( ))))))))))

Hi Cris, I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you

I am heartbroken at the moment, sent Izzy to be neutered and they butchered her. She is really unwell, I feel so guilty, I thought it would be ok. Not sure why it has gone so badly wrong. Am going to have to contact the emergency vet I think

They break your heart animals, they hold such a special place in your heart. I wanted to share as I knew you would understand. I know you love your friends as much if not more than I love Izzy.

Hi Cris, you have done well to go out today, hope you were wrapped up, its bitterly damp and cold, seeps into the bones.

Toni and Cris, thanks for your kindness. Mr SG stayed up with her last night and we managed to get some water and food into her, we are having to feed her as the stupid bucket round her tiny head is so big and heavy she can't hold her head up or reach any food or water. She has also used the litter try so that is progress. She still can't walk in a straight line, and is so spaced out and woozy. It was a side neuter, they have removed most of her fur and done anawful job stitching. i think it was a trainee doing the job, its truly awful. She has to go back to be checked tomorrow, and I don't know whether to take her back to the original vet or another one. She has eaten and drank this morning and has manged to stagger up the stairs to curl up on the bed, all nice and cosy. I just can't believ the state of her, I am distraught and so cross. I will be having words with the vet.

Cris, hope you have a nice fire going to keep youu warm,am sending heat packs and a thermos to keep you warm.

    Love x x x

    Suzy

give Izzy a Prrrrppp! from daisycat and l hope she will be even better tomorrow. Daisycat was a good girl when she had her op and l was able to take that silly collar off sooner than the vet said. I worried, but she didn't scratch the injury. WAY too soon for you to consider it, but you may be able to put her bowl 'up' alittle so she can try to feed herself. Expect a mess!!!

Love and hugs to both of you from me.

    Val VAL!!!! wake up!!!

    Love

Toni, thank you for caring, it has just floored me. QWe have been raising the food bowl to her and finger feeding her chicken and tuna. A spot or two of cream as well, she licks it off our fingers.

To be honest she is too weak topick at the stitches even if we took the bucket off, but I am reluctant to do it, without vets say so. She is still woozy from the anaesthetic and she had it on Friday. A friend said maybe she wasnt weighed and given standard dose, which being tiny was too much for her??

Either way her standard of care is unacceptable and I am terrified of taking her back tomorrow for her check and traumatising her further.

Cris, sorry to hijack your thread, really hoping you understand.

    Love to you x x x

oh Suzy ... you know in the old days they didn't use collars and cats very, very, very rarely took their stitches out.... they even collar them now for neutering.... they don;t need to cus well....

i think thats my advise .... if she isn't going after the stu=itches and the collar is distressing her .... well i would take it off.... and honestly they never used to use collars at all....

it sounds like she has had a bit of a reaction to the ga. bless her thats whats making her a bit wobbly and vague. Suzy it will soon ware off and she will be fine again.

i think i would go back to the same vets but i would say i as a bit unhappy (understatement that) with her care and the cut but give them the benefit of doubt a bit cus some cats do react to the ga and they never know before they give it if a cat will.

its difficult though but what i would also do 9and have) is after they have done the follow up, quietly change vets...... you have to trust the vet more than you do any consultant actually.....

Suzy she will be ok but she does sound like she has had a reaction and they might be able to stabled=se her a bit tomorrow.

will be in Izzy;s pocket and with you when you go and just tell them how she has been and hopefully they can help get her over the reaction.

Suzy i leaving you a (((((((((( ))))))))) and a hope and Izzy a big cuddle and a collar removal i think  love and a hope Cris xxx

been an odd day.... and i in for some payback

Val thank for being Ianthe armchair and keeping me from falling asleep... i have tried to not do the armchair thing cus that honesty is whats doing damage to my neck... and then me  leaving a hug and a cuppa with a hope you get some real decent sleep. xx

Sticky oh the last one was so horrible.... i have a lot of muscle still but the bones just are no longer up for the job and the muscles alone cant hold me up....

i seriously have to lose weight.... i really must and yet even not eating anything (i do tend to use the starvation diet cus its all that works) isn't making it go..... the less weight the less pain especially one the back so i need to exercise more...

van i borrow your horse  i really do like the sound of it you know  its hard to exercise when the neck takes you out so easily... kinda scared of the neck if I am honest.....

guess that's stating the bleeding obvious eh?! i have a major degree in tat one

hope your doing ok and Haz said he is the one that bounces on to your head  slurps said she will join him so you get a double dose for always being there and i really am grateful to you, and all of you who help keep me going hen my own hope is dead for now at least. xx

Suzy your right you know the neck is misshaped... i think i going for the hunchback look to be honest.... a friend of mine is experimenting with cutting her collar a bit so it hurts less but still gives support.... my head will not go as far up in a tilt as the collar makes t go..... i feel instantly sick and like i am going t pass out if the neck is inflamed the min i put the softer of the collars on.

cutting it might work so i will let you know if it does work.....

the other thing i have Suzy is this lump..... its right at the base of the neck where it joins the thoracic..... its hot and inflamed and filling with fluid .. hey guess thats the spondylitis  the spondylosis is hell bent in trashing out whats left of the discs and extra bone growth....

we were in the wrong cue for bodies my friend

you hang in there and more hugs and cuddles to you and to Izzy. xx

right i just have to say typing is painful and makes the left shoulder lock up and one handed takes for ever cus well it just does... so.... i know i am letting the forum down but please know its not cus i don; care and i promise if i could just get the neck to shut down a little i could pull my weight again.

please all of you know i still care very much. hugs and tea and must leave a hug and a Casar fro my mate Maddie and not forgetting miss L Legs who will be here tomorrow, clip bored in hand and get some of the mess thats out side cleared up  she is a good dog that one but also a lovely dog to boot  hugs and tea to you all xxx

oh and forgive me... the eyes are not so good tonight but hopefully the hell i m going to have to have via that evil fill in the blanks drip will help the eyes cus thats one of the main reasons i have it  eyes are kinda important and well... long ago i was deaf for about 18 months. took 3mops to get the hearing back and that was so isolating i said i would sooner go blind than deaf again so i jinxed my self eh?!

hey we Cornish have some weird ideas

Morning Cris, I hope you managed a goodish nights sleep. I shall be very cross if I here you say you have let the forum down. You have supported me so much always, but especially over the last couple of days, which has been vastly appreciated.

I hear you with the neck, the hunchback and misshapen, I have a lump, alhtough not filled with fluid and the scoliosis due to it all. Its amazing the damage it does. I hope cutting the collar helps, I have the same poblem in lifting the head, it makes me dizzy and thats why the collar is no good. I shall have to re investigate the v shaped memory foam pillow.

I have taken Izzy to the vet this morning after speaking to a very nice practice manager. I have put all about it on my thread, don't want to hog yours  Upshot is I am a lot happier nowand Izzy is too.

Thank you to everyone who has sent her well wishes, I just hope the attention doesn't go to her head!!!! She is so precious and I am so grateful to see her start taking an interest in shoelaces again!!!

Sending you sunshine hugs and rays of wwarmth and strength.
