    thanks Linda, Poppy, Julie..
Last night ended up being the worst bout yet
Four times in one hour.. Boy was it horrid...
The loperamide did settle it a little. Finally
My stomach feels raw this morning. Still got the last bits of the flare going on with my legs/knees..
    Very bloody tired
I've got my flu jab booked at one fifteen today. Will still go for it, they'll either let me have it or not. Lol
Haven't felt this rough for a while. I think that it's a combination of the flare up, the ibs flaring and the bug if that is what it is.... I'm lucky that way, lol

How you ladies are ok today?

For heaven's sake get well soon. I'm feeling a bracket may become inevitable.

Know how youre feeling Tony, my record is 22 times in one day, my daughter thought it would be fun to count the dashes and I counted the night ones.

Luvkily its calmed down today maybe gonna have a few days off with any luck finger crossed. It usually gives me enough of a break to feel brave enough to out then teaches me a lesson

Traluvie what a great poem made me laugh.. especially the end bit

    Love Theresa

or just black out on the loo is more what i do

its not fun lad and leaving you a hug and a hope as well as a suggestion to Ra he gets back on the magic cure hunt..... Cris xx

My darling OH has written an email to my Rheumy nurse.. Workin in the healthcare sector has benefits, lol... Email addresses are available.

    Anyway:

    Dear *****
I am really sorry for contacting you in this way but I am growing increasingly concerned about my husbands health. He has been under Mr M***** for a while now and was diagnosed with sero-negative RA. His condition has deteriorated dramatically over the last 12 months. His knee joints had become so painful that we had sought surgical intervention through Mr S**** at CAH, as it was previously thought that his knees were a mechanical issue. Unfortunately MR S**** believes that it is in fact his RA that is currently not well controlled that is adding to his existing pain. Mr S**** indicated that he was going to write to Mr M***** to request that he look again at my husband as he is not prepared to operate on his knees whilst his inflammation is uncontrolled.

On top of all this he is currently awaiting investigation for IBS. He cannot eat anything but chicken and has been housebound for almost 3 weeks now. He is just so unwell at the moment and in so much pain with his stomach and suffers sever bloating. He has been taking an anti-spasmodic and peppermint oil 3 times a day for a few months now but this hasn’t seemed to help much. I am obviously concerned that we get this checked ASAP but his appointment isn’t until early December in Dewsbury! Given that no real investigations have been performed thus far I am increasingly concerned that the alleged IBS might in fact be something else and given the severity of his current condition I would prefer that anything else be ruled out sooner than later.

I just wondered if there was any possibility that my husband can be seen by either MR M***** or yourself to see if there is anything that can be done to alleviate his symptoms in the short term. Or if you in fact agree that his condition has deteriorated significantly that you could in fact arrange for further tests to be carried out.

Once again I apologise for contacting you in this manner but I am coming to my wits end with this.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated
    .

I think that may get us somewhere eh folks?

Great letter and I agree that you should be seen quicker as you have many of the same complaints as me and they thnk its IBD and it needs diagnosing or excluding quickly. Mine took 10weeks from gp to appointment as urgent. Hope your letter gets you in quicker than December.
    Good luck and rest up

Oh Tony, I do hope the letter works and you do get seen sooner. Well done for your OH for taking the bull by the horns and sending it.

It certainly has not been a good year for you and I do hope that things begin to improve for you very soon.

    Take care,
    I x
