Thank you so much everyone.
Just got back from the hospital because we were invited again for a cuddle, this time we took Milly and Filly, tears of joy from all except little Jack. He's woken up today, found his lungs and can't work out how to get food from his new vending machine
Mr Legs is just going to the hospital to take them home.
They're so excited.
A brand new little family. Bless.
PS 'E', Mig's right I had my nanna-brain on and was singing it the wrong way round!!!
Lots of love,Love, Legs x

Thanks for sharing such a beautiful picture of Jack with us all.
Not all babies are that lovely looking for the first few days, but he is a real stunner and will probably break a few hearts when he's older.
Love to you all.

Hi Diamond, Creaky, Toni, Bubba and Mig,
Yes, Toni, nice to see Page again and Plug.
Saturday night YoungSonLegs and Dilly had 2 hours sleep but they did have a better night last night. Midwife has suggested bottle feeding as Jack is struggling to latch on  They've asked that we pop over to see them this afternoon .................well I'll just have to check my diary ...................................not. We're on our way

Oh Linda I sympathise with DIL. I struggled to feed the first 4 babes, and gave up very, very quickly. It was just too painful and I dreaded feeding time, they were always hungry because they weren't getting the correct amount-it was like a form of torture!. But with my youngest it was just so easy which was a blessing because I was too ill to make bottles or even walk downstairs to make and sterilise them. I had to give up feeding when put on new tablets but these tablets allowed me to walk down the stairs (actually I think I skipped down the first night ).
Hope the heats not too much for little Jack.

So Jack is making himself known to Dilly and youngsonlegs! So now the sleep less nights, nappy changing and making bottles begins! I know I've never had to do it but watching people I know who have babies it's a nightmare! They should make it an Olympic sport! 'And now for the 24hr looking after baby event'! I'm sure Dilly & Youngsonleg's are fine as it's a labour of love but hats off to them! Enjoy seeing Jack and say hi from me!0

Hi Linda
Im just popping in to see how your DIL is doing, Im so glad to read that they are home..bless...I had to bottle feed my frist son for the same reason.
They must be so happy to be home in there own surroundings...now are you sure you want to visit....love to all of you xxxLove
Barbara0 -
Hi Barbara, Bubba and 'E'
(They are twisting my arm Barbara but I shall force myself )
They also have three big dogs to contend with. Two black labs and a staffie cross (which worries me  ), so they really do have their work cut out.
As regards feeding she does want to do it but the problem is he searches, knows to suck but they can't seem to get the hang of it and both are ending up frustrated, tired and one of them is very hungry! I'm in a funny spot, want to help, but don't want to embarrass her. If she was my daughter and not my Dilly it would be totally different but I walk a fine line being a Milly.
The midwife is going this afternoon so maybe she'll help. We're leaving in a few minutes so I'll be back later.

You are right Linda. Best leave it to the midwife to advise on breast feeding matters. I wanted to feed mine too as Mother Nature intended but it just didn't work out.

I am trying to remembre who helped me....

Think it was this lot. My eldest was 2 and a half months early so she couldn't suck. I hired a breast-pump and was able to feed her my own milk through a tube. Dilly could do it via a bottle.
Made ME feel better
Love and hugs

Hi 'E' and Toni,
Thanks for the link Toni, it looks interesting and I'll pass it on.
Dilly is expressing her milk and giving it by bottle and the midwife is bringing an electric breast pump tomorrow.
Poor little Jack is so sleepy, (a) because of his birth and (b) because he's not getting enough dinner. He's actually not awake enough to be able to breast feed so he's given the bottle when he's half asleep. He's now on 2 hourly feeds day and night and if he doesn't improve he may have to be readmitted into hospital to rehydrate him tomorrow or Wednesday.
Dilly has plenty of milk and is very relaxed about it. They're doing feeding shifts tonight so they can get at least 4 hours of sleep.
GrandpopLegs managed to get a full two ozs down him tonight before we can home which takes lots of patience. Little Jack is very good at multi-tasking ...........eating and sleeping at the same time but we may change his name to Rip Van Winkle!!
We aren't worried they are getting lots of support and we know they'll work hard together to get their little man there.

Thanks Lexy
A midwife was going round this afternoon who is an expert on breast feeding. He's also only lost 4oz which is fairly normal and nothing to worry about.
I've not seen him today so I hope he isn't missing his nanna too much

I'm sure they will be fine. My daughter was feeding every 2 hours night and day for quite a while but they got settled eventually.
You mentioned an electric breast pump and it reminded me of something my son-in-law told me. He had put an order in for the shopping online and arranged for it to be delivered on a certain day. Anyway, the shopping turned up and he was talking to the delivery man in the kitchen telling him of the arrival of baby. Why don't you come through and see him, he said to the man. They both walked through to the living room where my daughter was sitting with both boobs attached to the breast pump, a bit like a cow being milked. Well no-one knew where to look and the poor delivery man ran from the house. I couldn't speak for laughing and crying at the same time when I was told. Needless to say, that same man has never delivered the shopping again. Still brings tears to my eyes.Christine0 -
That's priceless Apple and thanks that's started my day with a good laugh.
