    Hello Toni and Lucy
Toni i'm so sorry about your neck. I hope Dr Tim can help Lucy's shoulder perhaps Dr Tim could give you a neck massage.

hahahaha!! Very good Joan. I think it's maybe all the driving because it recovers a bit over the weekend.

Yes I do worry about Lucy's shoulder (and wonky walk) because of all the steroids whilst still growing. Problem is they are great at zapping those cancer cells. :?

Lucy enjoyed Tia being home overnight last night I did too :)

Bit worried because the only nasty nurse is back on the ward and it's chemo Tuesday. Cris skezier used to send nasty nurse potion to keep her away from Lucy's bed ;)

She is a truly vile woman been on another ward for the last year and a half. She made Lucy's needle-phobia far worse :(

Ah well think of today - a lovely Autumnal day and everyone is well - I hope the same with you, Sue and the doggies :)

    Love

Hello Toni, how come there is always one...we had an horrible nurse that used to give injections to my brother without warning him, and he was blind  ...It took a while but I did complain...not easy in hospitals...hopefully you can now have a good well earned rest ..I love Joan's idea of Dr Tim giving you a neck massage... sending you lots of nasty nurse potion.. the get away from Lucy's bed one..mixed up by Cris herself... :)

    Hi Toni
Like Barbara says there is always one.....I remember at my 2nd THR there was a horrible one and I dreaded her being on. The only thing is THR's are short lived times in hospital.

What has happened to Cris.......I thought she was coming back? You heard anymore since she posted once or twice?

    Morning everyone :)

Able to get on early today as the girls all have individual appointments with their tutors today and Lucy's isn't until 1055.

Still had to disturb her at 7 for meds (dex has to be taken at 7 am).

Rightyho - Dr Tim is sending Lucy for a scan on her shoulder, but will see how her hip is next month.

We are going to try chemo first then clinic this next time in the hope Lucy can make her maths on the Tuesday afternoon too.

Thank you for the nasty-nurse potion - it worked! She was more scared of us!!! Chemo went very well as ever Lucy took it in her stride :)

Cris? She is still actively searching for the missing pup (who is now 2!) coming up to 2 years since she was stolen and helping others in the same position too.

Thank you Joan - I am coping ok with the drive out to Stafford. The sign on the roadworks now says 28th November!

    Love to you all

I have been awol  I beg forgiveness.

I'm glad nasty nurse proved less of a hurdle than usual and I hope all goes well with the appointments, not to mention the shoulder and calf. If the remedies involve sheer will power at all I'm sure all will be well.

Now the neck - might a soft orthopaedic collar help if used briefly? I hope something can.

Aw thanks Joan and Stickywicket - I have a soft neck collar which I do use at the end of the day when my head is too heavy!!

Back is ok - pretty well :)

It's a good job we have Dr Tim isn't it? I think the calf muscle has something to do with something further up - hip/muscles not sure yet. Both can be consequences of the treatment.

    Love to you all

Has the shoulder pain started since she did the hairdressing course, not that it will put her off of course. Hope you get results from the scans.

What a shame nasty nurse is back but glad the potion worked. She can't be very good if she made Lucy's needle phobia worse.

Poor Cris I do feel so sorry for her. Its the not-knowing that eats away at your peace-of-mind.

    Take care, rest up.

The nasty nurse did many nasty things when Lucy first arrived 3 weeks after her 16th birthday.

    She was terrified.

Of needles, but cancer anything medical really.

The nasty nurse is impatient, intolerant, lacking in empathy, loud, bossy, frightening and sadly SISTER in charge :(

Lucy arrived with neutropenic sepsis. She didn't have enough reserves to fight infection so she had one. Stafford had inserted two cannulas, one into each hand for her using gas and air to calm her. At the QE they don't do this and nasty nurse, being a procedure-freak decided they needed to come out that night. Lucy had a raging fever at the time therefore a pounding headache. The nurse said she could have some paracetamol once the cannulas were removed (having not been inserted at the QE).

I just thought she would die myself.

So I found a far nicer nurse to help and she took them out for her.

There are many more incidents, which I have noted. When Lucy is better and safe I think a complaint is in order.

Sorry about that folks, but I haven't quite got over the way my daughter was treated.

As for Cris bless her she still sent the potions every night despite her own worry about the puppy.

I do tell her people on here still care about her very much Joan :)

Elizabeth - the shoulder DID start after she commenced hairdressing so hoping it is muscular. Fingers crossed eh?

Marie - thank you for caring and don't worry about pred-head ;) I will be careful :)

    Love

    Toni xxx

PS Realised that wasn't very cheerful!! Oooops!! Lucy is really well honestly and will be resting up over the weekend apart from going to the car racing with Paul tomorrow :)

Thank Barbara - there is more much more sadly. I nearly wrote it all then!! Best not though it would really upset you all.

I never leave Lucy alone with her and it feels quite different now as Lucy isn't vulnerable, in bed in her jammies, weak, ill and powerless. :D

Our Cris also had experience of one nasty nurse so she 'got it' straight away.

I have no idea why they go into the caring profession when they aren't caring, but think perhaps it's a power thing??

    Love and ((()))

    Hello Toni and Lucy
I hope you all had a good weekend. Toni Lucy is a lucky young lady to have a good mother to stand by her when other people get nasty to her daughter that was wrong Lucy was very weak and in pain.
sorry if I wrote it wrong but I know what I meant.

I knew exactly what you meant Joan :)

Thank you and to you too Barbara :)

I know my job and that is first and foremost to look after my children and woe betide anyone who gets in my way so she will get it when Lucy is all well.

Luckily all the other nurses were and are wonderful as are the Doctors, volunteer and domestic staff everyone so I would still recommend the ward to anyone unlucky enough to be in the same position as us.

Love and ((())) to you both
