Good Morning Forum friends
Thank you all for your kind wishes - I have done my usual welling-up malarkey reading them all
Thanks to you DD for keeping everyone in the loop.
We got home yesterday afternoon thanks to Lucy's lovely Step-Dad
The nausea was incredibly difficult to control and she was very dehydrated her liver and kidneys starting to protest (bloods evidenced that). Her weight which had been 57kg end of November was down to 43.40kg
They suggested allsorts including an NG tube, (but decided with the vomiting it would be unsafe), she had gallons of fluids and in the end (some of you will remember she has epilepsy?) all meds IV.
I suggested the new 'patches' (like the ondansetron in 'type') so we can prevent it in future. Turns out as yet not able to get hold of them they being new
Finally they started her on evil anti-psychotic stuff:
levomepromazine (Nozinan for short) in a very low dose 2xs daily which worked straight away
(I am told there are lots of reasons for being sick and anti emetics for each - like having a full stomach (metachlopramide helps with this), 5HT3 inhibitors like ondansetron do something to prevent the vomit receptors (something like that) being triggered and also anxiety (anticipation) which is hard to control and the new one helps with most of them).

That explains better than me
BUT....she was asleep almost all day so we had to stop the day time dose and stick to night time.
It worked
So now she's home and eating!!!
I am a happy Mum
I hope we don't need the tablets for too much longer. She had chemo on Thursday too (I know I couldn't believe it either!!).
They are going to try to wait now till after her prom before doing any more.
Sorry that was so epic!!
Thanks to Elizabeth, Stickywicket, Hileena, Toady, Christine, Barbara, Joan, Tony, Frogmella, Susiesoo, Marie and Mig (I've already thanked DD, but thanks again)
Love to you all

Oh hooray that the drugs have worked so glad to hear she can come home & work on eating & building herself up.. is there any chance the patches will become available or is it really not something that's in the near enough offing.. hope things continue in the current mode & you can tail the tablets off. Amazing that Thursday's chemo could be ticked off too, all excellent news. Best as always, toady. xx0
