I'm devastated to hear that another lass AT LUCY's school has leukaemia the year below. I can't stop thinking about her Mum
I promise to pop back and post properly and thank you all very soon

A special hug for you Frog. I don't know what else to say . Mig0

Oh frog, how upsetting!
Logic dictates that such things are random so it seems bizarre, and upsetting, when they strike again so closely.

You will be there for support to the other mum I'm sure
Lots of love

I was so glad to read that Lucy was back home but also so sad that another girl from her school has it too. Sending you big hugs ((()))0
-
Oh thank you as usual you've come up with understanding and support
The lass has the chronic version so will have been ill for a good while. Joan and Hileena I will help her Mum if she wants me of course. There was a lass we met with chronic and hopefully once it's under control it's easily kept under control with tablets at home. PHEW!!!
Stickywicket - I don't get it either it's technically still very rare for kids to get cancer at all. :?
Mig the () was enough
Frogmella, Barbara, Toady, Villier, bubbadog, Christine and Elizabeth (Yes it was soooo scary and for our neighbours one of whom is a good friend of Lucy).
Odd isn't it? How quickly I have 'got over' last weekend
Charley is coming over later to have a sneaky sleepover with Lucy in her new bed ( a double to keep her safer), which had better be here today :?
Intrathecal was cancelled for today as Doc Tim won't take risks, but we'll go in Monday for bloods.
Dark and dank here - hope you all a faring better weather-wise

I think the key to random distribution patterns is in the name. They are purely random and therefore as likely to crop up closely together as widely apart. Mind you, we do tend to 'try' to find reasons. I remember a group of us from my old school being amazed at how many of us had had breast cancer in the intervening years. We concluded it had to be the cabbage from school dinners
I'm sorry the intrathecal was cancelled but I'm sure Doc Tim knows best.
The double bed is a great idea to help avoid tumbles. How lovely for Lucy to have Charley to help her 'christen' it. I hope both have fun and a better weekend than last.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Yes you're right Stickywicket it's all a random and nasty coincidence
I must say though, I rather like the cabbage link.
Oddly enough I liked the cabbage it was the fatty meat (no idea what - just 'grey') for me
Thank you Joan - things seem settled just now. Thank goodness I don't want another weekend like the last one
Dank here, but Lucy has some friends visiting today so she'll be ok.
Love

Hello Toni
What rotten news,it must bring it all back to you when Lucy was first diagnosed..but I am sure you will be there for them if needed..I hope you and Lucy have a lovely weekend and enjoy having Charley round(((()))xx
Love

Toni how awful that another pupil at the school has been diagnosed. It is always awful to hear.
The double bed is a great idea, especially if she needs company and helps keep her safe. That is why I bought my super king, plenty of space for my little ones and if they fall asleep then I'm not feeling all squashed!
Hope it arrives soon and Charley has a safe journey home.

Barbara it knocked me sick thinking of her poor Mum
Elizabeth - what a good idea a super-king!! I would so love thatThere are plenty of days when I just want to keep an eye on Lucy so the bed will get used.
Charley is off visiting another friend locally and stopping tonight too
love

What bad news about the other girl in Lucy's school. I'm sure you will be a help to them. Hope Lucy has a good weekend with Charley. A new bed? Ooooh, lovely. (((hugs))) for you and the other family.Christine0

Dark and dank is certainly right. Solid blankets of mothy, milky grey cloud here. :?
Hope it brightens soon! Pleased to hear Lucy is back on an even keel but so, so sorry to hear about the the other girl, what a shake-up that is.Hope the prognosis is as you say it should be for her.
Wishing you the best for Monday's bloods & whatever is to follow. xxx0 -
Thanks Toady and Christine.
Yes bloods tomorrow and then maybe Dr Tim will increase Lucy's chemo tablets a bit more if they are good enough.
Also collecting Lucy's 'clothes show' tickets which the teenage cancer trust (I think) have provided for the girls on the ward.
Hoping she is well-enough to go :? She goes every year normally as one of her birthday presents.
Love to you all and here's to a good week all round
