Mig - I don't know about role model, but you do what you've got to do for your kids don't you? I was telling the rheumatologist on Wednesday many nights I lay there in the hospital on the pull-out by Lucy thinking....I won't manage tomorrow, but I always did somehow
Thanks Hileena - we did need it definitely and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lucy looks great doesn't she? Hope you are all ok?
Joan - I hope your weather is better than ours! Lucy and Paul are off to the racing. They will be inside eating food which is a good thing as it's pouring down.

Yes you did manage it Toni because you are a strong woman, just as Lucy is. Hope she and Paul have had a lovely day. Eating food at the racing, or anywhere else, sounds good to me. :cheers:Christine0

Lucy is an inspiration to us all, Toni, and so are you!
Love Joan0 -
Thanks both
Lucy had a great time at the racing luckily indoors with all the rain we had last night
I got a night out with friends eating veggie chilli yum came home with some books to read and had a good laugh too.

Tomorrow then for Lexi Joan? I hope the vet is pleased with her progress.
Well yesterday Lucy and I got the train to the QE (fun actually!) for epilepsy clinic. She is on a LOT of medication and Dr Tim is hoping some can be reduced as her epilepsy has been nicely settled for over 6 months.
So we are starting to drop the does of the keppra from this morning. Scary, but hopefully will be ok as maintenance chemos are more gentle.
While we were in we went up to the YPU to see some friends particularly the really poorly lad and his Mum.
Things aren't great there, but we still had a laugh

It's good that the young lad and his mum are still able to have a laugh. It'll keep them going. Hope all goes well for Lucy while she reduces her meds. xxChristine0

Hi Tony
I hope things work out for Lucy....it is such a scary thing having epilepsy meds reduced.
I remember fighting against it until the GP said if you don't let me reduce them I wont give you a prescription!!!!
So he reduced them....I was scared but everything was OK
Hope everything is OK with Lucy and that poor family....what they must be going through

That's reassuring to hear Hileena. Thing is she's on 3 ep meds and as you know they prefer you controlled on one if possible.
Made a start yesterday morning :?
Joan how did Lexi get on? Was the vet happy?
Off to the QE again for Lucy's Intrathecal. She now wants to try it without any sedation. Mind you she usually was awake anyway for the procedure and fell asleep afterwards and Dr Tim won't let her suffer I'm sure.
Hope I get 5 mins to pop up to see Mum and Lad on the ward.

Hope all goes well for Lucy today ...it must be awful seeing the young man so poorly..you must feel so helpless but Im sure it will help his mum you calling in to see them..xxLove

Hello Toni and Lucy

Well Lucy had a dizzy spell and was tachycardic and dehydrated so they gave her IV fluids and she agreed to sedation.
She is fine again now
The lad!! Well...remember he was given 9 months in August last year.....the radiotherapy has shrunk the tumour in his spine so he can walk again
So a happy day for them both!!! He can go home tonight/tomorrow until next chemo.

Ps Poor Dr Tim had to rush off to the dentist after doing Lucy's chemo!0 -
Hi
That's great news about the lad.
Hope Lucy is OK.....I'm on 2 EP meds and they all keep telling me that MONOTHERAPY is the way to go now....no one is on 2 anymore
I'm afraid I just say to them.....its not broke so don't fix it!!!!!!
Leave well alone...but you know me
How are you coping
Love
Hileena0 -
I'm coping thanks Hileena!! You know what it's like - I do hope the family are all well??
I know they want you under control on one medication, but poor Lucy has been counting the hours until she can learn to drive. Her friends are all passing their tests now
For you and the other lass on here who has epilepsy 'leave well alone' is what you want being well and drivers already.
Lucy's Epilepsy Nurse Specialist is lovely though Not as nice as her Dr Tim of course....she adores him
Love

Hi Tony
That's good....it makes such a difference when you have nice nurses/docs etc......Esopecially to a young lady {not a child lol} but you know what I mean.
Take care
Love
Hileena0 -
Glad Lucy is ok again. She was brave to try without the sedation. Good news about the lad whose tumour has shrunk. Poor Dr Tim. Hope he is ok now too. xxChristine0
-
Thanks Hileena - I expect Lucy needs to wait till meds are settled before driving - safety first
Christine thank you too - Dr Tim last seen 'power-walking' towards University (dentist)
Lovely day today :deckchair:0 -
Glad that Lucy has another out the way...very wise to have the sedation bless...hopefully the epilepsy will be controlled very soon then she can be back to a normal teenager ..and good news for the young man...hope its continues help him ...xxLove

Toni, I have only just seen the pics of Lucy.....I know, I'm a bit slow!.....What a little beauty she is. Like her mum eh? The blue of her eyes is quite stunning, and she looks so well. You must be very proud. She is going to be a heartbreaker.x.0
