Good news again - the consultant confirms they can't find any other tumours or signs of cancer so they are assuming the tumour in my thigh is a primary bone cancer. I am being referred to a London hospital for biopsy and surgery, looks like I will still have chemo but the word "curable" was mentioned for the first time. Fingers crossed! Going to be very expensive though as its 3hours on the train to London. Let's hope my critical illness insurance pays out!!!oh well it's only money.....!

So very pleased to hear your "good news" Sue

You have things to face Sue and you'll do brilliantly with your positive attitude :D

I didn't mention anything previously because of your ongoing investigations. In the event, a friend, very dear to my heart, in fact my youngest son's godmother has/had the same thing. It was a primary with no metastasis.

She was treated in a 'London hospital'

That was 6 years ago and she's absolutely 'bloomin fine'

Everyone here will be 'in your pocket' to give as much support as they can.

    Love Cherry x

So pleased to hear your good news, Sue. I expect you feel rather overwhelmed with what you have faced during the past weeks, but at least you now have an answer and will be able to start the journey towards recovery. I hope your treatment goes well for you :) xx

Hi all, I have an appointment with Mr Aston (from the national orthopaedic hospital) in London on Wednesday. Hopefully they have decided on treatment and I can start that soon. I will let you know how it goes on Wednesday. Am currently practicing tying headscarves to cover my soon to be bald (I expect!) head!! Causing much hilarity in the house. And my current motto is "don't count the days, make the days count!"

I will be thinking of you on Wednesday, Sue. Is it the hospital in Stanmore? You'll look fab in headscarves and maybe some funky hats too...?! As I said before, your attitude is fantastic, we could all learn a lot from you. Take good care! Sophie xx

I'm actually seeing Mr Aston at the Wellington hospital as I'm still being seen privately (thru work!) But Mr Aston is based at stanmore and I may end up there if bupa won't pay for my op and treatment. I don't mind where I go, as its so specialist I think it would be the same consultant! It's just so far from home and I am a country girl!!
    Thanks all

Will have you all with me tomorrow (luckily I don't have to pay your train fare too!!) Hopefully I will get some answers and a plan for treatment.
To quote bob marley "you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have" I am also relying on his word...."don't worry about a thing, cos every little thing gunna be alright"!!other news, I have managed to find a matching large hat for my mother of the bride outfit in June, so I think I can get away with being bald. By the time I take the hat off, everyone will be drunk and won't notice!!my daughter is planning on shaving her head if I lose my hair, although she hasn't told her big sister that she will have a bald bridesmaid!!!what a family!!
