Up and downs

Well today started out quite well, good morning and even sat on the decking drawing, watching the birds and drinking a latte.

Later on went inside to watch the tennis. Then the physiotherapist called from the hospital. I made the mistake of following her advice and put my legs up , even though I had no swelling. Then oh my life the pain started, it was brutal and relentless. I will not be doing that again ! Took 2 paracetamol.

Went to bed, my husband prayed for me, took 2 ibuprofen and put my leg in the foam support I had from the hospital, that helped. Eventually it all calmed down and I was pain free.

Oh dear well feet up is such a normal part of recovery for most people. Seems like not you though.

I do hope you're doing ok now?

You don’t explain how you were putting your legs up?
This happened to me whenever I attempted to put my legs up without sufficient support for the whole length of the leg. My husband concocted a series of pillows so that there was one under my thigh then one slightly below that and so on until I had 4 pillows in total and I had ‘toes above nose’ and no higher, that worked. Hope this makes sense? It needed to be a gradual incline with the whole leg supported.
