Arthritis and fibromyalgia

Hello everyone, my first time posting!

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis in 2020, I commenced methotrexate in June and recently noticed changes such as all over body pain, pins and needles, feeling bruised, unreal brain fog and confusion, I just put this down to my body adjusting to the methotrexate…..at my most recent rheumatology appointment my nurse suggested i may also have fibromyalgia. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this, getting diagnosed with arthritis and then a little later fibromyalgia? I would love to hear your experiences and how you manage.

Lots of us have dual (even multiple) diagnoses here @LauraG

Often is is osteoarthritis on top of an inflammatory arthritis like RA. Some people do indeed have fibro as well, but in your shoes I wouldn't accept a nurse's 'diagnosis' I'd want to ask your rheumatologist. There are some (limited) tests they do to confirm the condition.

Take care and it's lovely to have you here

Hi I have had osteo arthritis in my spine and jaw and tri compartment in both knees. I have now had both knees replaced, the most recent one in Februay this year. Since then my health has deteriorated and was advised by my doctor last week that it was more than likely Fibromyalgia.

I've noticed whilst being in these chats that a large amount of people have some form of arthritis and fibro.
