I've got news for you :!: We all are slightly MAD :!: :!: Someone told me recently that when I first started posting on the forum, I was sensible and normal, but now I'm a bit crazy :!: I think it is true, but who cares :?:

Yesterday, I went into a cafe and had a gorgeous cherry scone with butter, and a lovely pot of tea. My friend thought I was mad when I said that the scones would be very popular in Val's cafe. She gave me a funny look when I tried to explain about a virtual cafe :!: :shock:

You seem to be one of peeps who is always cleaning up around here and the sheep and dogs have been in today again. I did a bit of tidying up but it's not the same as when you are in. We must keep it spick and span while Val is away. Ta for the goodies they will pounce on them in the morning I'm sure. I'll make myself brew while I am here then hit the sack. Take care

I thought I would drop these around.

3 date and walnut cakes
2 ginger cakes
2 chocolate gateau's
2 baked Alaska put in fridge or freezer
2 large bread puddings

I looked for signs of weevils. I had had a good look around for them. Everyone will be pleased.

I also gave the place a good look around everything is so clean.

Well I'm having a piece of that saffron cake , ohhhohh mmmmmm Iihmmmmmmmmmmmmm this tea is nice.

Thanks for the tips re: cream horns. Will have a think about that .... but may stick to my tried and tested favourites for now.

So lovely to be in a weevil-free environment. I promise that I walked through the footwash you so kindly placed by the door, and the doorman (or door-dog) has thoroughly inspected all my pockets and declared them totally empty. :? funny that, as I am sure there were a few sweets in there earlier :?

saffron cake sounds tempting .... so does baked Alaska ........ choices chioces!

I shouldn't really be indulging .... the harvest meal this lunchtime was fab, and hardly anyone stayed so we all tried to make up for their absence!! there was so much left that we were able to ring the local homeless hostel and take them everything that was left over. I hope that put some smiles on faces.

right, thanks for the tea .... pasty and cake. must get off now and find out what littlelegs has been up to.

PS - Trisher - have you tried holding a pencil between your fingers and typing with that? just a thought. a pencil with a rubber on the end works best as it grips the keys without slipping.

Those cream horns are quite simple to make though. I day dream about all the cakes I used to make, unable to do it now though.
